Birthday at BoG?

Hi all!

We'll be leaving for WDW in a few days time and have reservations for BoG. I tried calling and asking it would be possible to set something up for her my girlfriend's birthday there but they said they couldn't take that request and that I'd have to ask while there.

Has anyone done this? If so, what did they end up doing? I'm sure whatever it is will be great, I'm just curious.

Did you look into having a cake delivered? Disney Food Blog site has some helpful info about how to order a cake at various places on WDW property.

For birthdays at WDW, there is no guarantee that they will "do" anything, if you mean for free. If you note the birthday on your ADR, she may get a free cupcake or some confetti on the table. Or maybe just a cheerful "Happy Birthday" from your server. Or maybe nothing. Please remember that just about everybody says they are celebrating something that is important only to them.

You can order a standard cake at the podium when you check in (for a price, of course). Or you could order a custom cake in advance (see the cake thread for details). If you go this route, consider what you would do with the remainder of the cake for the rest of the day.

If you want to be certain there's a special birthday element, go the cake route.
I wore my birthday button on my 30th to a BOG dinner the server brought out a candle in icing with sprinkles (nothing fancy here, not really a dessert just a simple way to celebrate my special day!), and a card wishing me Happy Birthday from Belle and Beast. Something like this may or may not happen. Like pp said, try to remember that most are celebrating something at Disney. It'd be tough for them to do something for everyone. That's why the cake route is the best route if it's important that there's something special done for her birthday.

Got it. Don't plan on ordering a cake, would be happy with whatever dessert she ends up ordering having a birthday candle or something. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
