birth dates in MDE and MDC cruise account

Does anyone know if your birth date in your MDE / MDC needs to match your birth date on your travel documents? It looks like the My Disney Experience and My Disney Cruise accounts are using the same login / profile info. I set up my Disney account many years ago, and I don't like using my real birth date unless it's really necessary. (I use my correct birth year; I am not lying about my age or anything.) But now I'm concerned it might cause a conflict regarding the cruise (for the cruise registration itself I have my true birth date since it connects to my ID and passport, etc.) (When signing in to the My Disney Cruise portion it asked for "a birth date for someone in the travel party", so I gave one of my sons'.)

Would you think I should just leave it, or call to ask to change it to my real birth date? Is there any connection between your MDC account stuff and your actual cruise registration, or is it more just a place for you to manage your trip details?

And a similar question - for MDE/MDC will it ever require us to enter the children's birth dates, like prior to the magic bands being ordered or prior to the cruise? We left it at "don't know" at present (but ages listed for at time of the trip), which is what I'd prefer.

Thanks for any info or insight anyone might have.

I would say you should fix the error so your travel documents and the info on your reservations is the same. I do know it's not a good idea to have conflicting information when trying to check in at the port. But that's just me.

When you do your online check in, you'll be asked to supply all your actual information including ID numbers (DL or passport), emergency contacts, etc. I imagine the check in info needs to match your actual travel documentation. If you've given a false birthdate, you may even have to contact DCL to get it rectified on your reservation.

You're going on an international trip not just signing up to ride a roller coaster. I'd imagine Homeland Security is not going to be amused if they think you are supplying inaccurate info. They check all ship manifests a few days before departure.

I gave all my true information when registering for the cruise (via a travel agent). It is only in my Disney account online that I have had for many years (started when requesting their planning DVD etc) that I have used an alternate date. I am asking if that online account has any bearing on the reservation.

You'd probably have to ask them. They may cross reference information - or not. Is it worth the worry to have different birth dates?

I don't have my real birthday on MDE either. The month and year are right, I just changed the date, for the same reasoning as you. For the cruise I used the right birthday, of course. It was not an issue. I actually didn't even remember my birthday on MDE wasn't correct until recently, many months after my cruise.

Thanks for your response! I'm glad to know it didn't cause a problem for you to have a different birth date in MDE. I'm such a worrywart I might end up calling to change it anyway just to be safe!
