birth certificate - raised seal question

Sorry if this is a repeat, I couldn't get search to work. I ordered new b.c. for both of my children and they came in the mail last week. They were both $11 and have the "official document" wording and are obviously on official paper. But neither has the raised seal.

Is this a new thing? Do I need the raised seal?

The fact that I paid that much for them (from the County Health Dept where they were born) makes it official in my eyes, but I'm not sure what will happen upon boarding.

Thanks in advance

Some counties do not use the raised seal, and as long as it is certified as a copy of the original birth certificate you'll be fine. :)

I'll second that. At least one of ours doesn't have a rasied seal and we've been fine each time. "Official" is the key.

Thanks! Dh told me the same thing, but you know I don't believe anything he says! LOL
