Birmingham

OOOOhhh yes, he will. I have seen a few of those items on the website, but I will have to check out the store in Birmingham. He will love the Hardware store. Ribs sound soooo good right now, so 4th of July.....

Now, thinking back, I have eaten at Jim and Nick's. There is one in San Destin at the San Destin Golf and Beach Resort, yummy

There used to be one at Village of Baytowne Wharf, but the last time we were in Destin I noticed that there is now one on Hwy 98. Surprisingly their food was reminiscent of the Birmingham locations. There is a J&N close to the Galleria and one downtown close to UAB ( think someone gave a street for that location, it's good too).

OOOOhhhhh, now I feel like an idiot :thumbsup2

I didn't think you would know.. Restoration Hardware is like if Pottery Barn, Create and Barrel, Pier One and other "artsy" stores got together.

Restoration Hardware main customers are women and very "artsy" men.

We lived in B'ham for 5 years, in the mid 90's. We loved all the BBQ available there- Jim & Nick's, Dreamland, etc.

To the current B'ham residents- is Johnny Ray's BBQ still around? We loved their 'cue and the icebox pies were to die for. I still crave their banana cream and coconut cream pies. We also really liked Golden Rule BBQ- the little one in Pelham (we lived in Pelham). They had the best spicy red slaw- mmm!

I think there's still a Johnny Ray's on Valley Avenue, as well as at least one or two other locations. Golden Rule is still around too. Dreamland is probably the best ribs, but no other location does them as well as the original location (there's now a second location there too) in Tuscaloosa. Second best ribs, in my opinion, are Bob Sykes in Bessemer. Overall, for BBQ or ribs, in Bessemer, I would go to Bob Sykes; in Tuscaloosa...Dreamland, and in Birmingham....Jim and Nicks.

We made it back about 10:30 Friday night via Atlanta. We had to put our poor baby to sleep, so I didn't really enjoy much. We did go to the Vera Bradley store and I didn't buy anything.

We ate at Jim & Nicks downtown near UAB, but I was so devestated I didn't pay much attention to the food and only ate a bit because I was hungry. We went to the Zoo which was a huge disappointment, they we went to the Disney Store before driving over to Atlanta. Dh just had to ge by the Talladega Race Track, and we stopped in Riverdale to eat at my fav restaurant Folks before heading home.

Much of the day was a blur as I was not handling things very well. I didn't see much that would make me want to run back to Birmingham too soon.
