The last time we ate at Chef Mickey's there were birds flying around inside the ceiling. Does anyone know if they have stopped this problem. Maybe I shouldn't worry, but all I kept thinking was, what if one of them poops in the food and no one notices. :scared1:Has anyone else thought about this?

I have always seen them flying around there but never really low .

I wouldn't worry as how many times you eat outside????? ;)

It's impossible to stop..unless them put up a wall around Chef Mickeys, floor to ceiling. The ends of the resort are open, in order to allow the monorail in and out. So, of course the birds come in as well.

The only times I have seen the birds flying around the 4th floor is in the mornings and afternoons, however I never seen them in there during the evening. Also each time my family and I have been to Chef Mickey's and the Contempo Cafe we never had problems with them flying around the 4th floor dining locations.

We were there a few weeks back and they were flying around the restraunt. More in the main entryway. Didn't see any in the ACUTAL restraunt area. More worrisome to me: the rain. When we were there it rained pretty badly and there were 3 places in the restraunt that had what they called "leaks". these "leaks" were not drips...they were literally waterfalls of water coming in as if someone were up in the ceiling pouring a bucket of water down at a continuous speed. One of the "leaks" occured right in the middle of a diner's table. they had to be moved becuase it was literally "raining" in thier food!:scared1:

I was there for breakfast in the middle of April and they were still flying around. I hadn't been to CM's in a few years and never remembered this before. They were in the main restaurant area and sitting on top of the poles by the food stations. I have mixed feelings about it and didn't want to make a scene because two colleagues were with me. I hope they do something about it, but know that is next to impossible because of the monorail entryway.

We were there in May at about 7PM and there were birds flying around (as there usually are) and they were not a problem, except for a really big turkey buzzard...... :lmao:

The only way to fix this is to have them install doors that open each time the both the Resort Monorail and Express Monorail come in and leave. However I don't see them doing that because of the cost and since both Monorail's usually enter every 5 minutes I see it being more a problem with them always opening and closing, where it could cause something to break or not open. Plus how would they actually be able to install them without having to stop the Monorail's from operating and think of all the noise it would cause guests staying in the Tower. Finally I would think they thought about making some doors when the Contemporary was being built, however for some reason they decided not to.

Was just there a little over a week ago. There were a few birds flying around but not actually in Chef Mickey's. I didn't see it as a problem. I will take my family back next time.

How interesting! This happened to us during our breakfast at Chef Mickey's in November. I didn't know if this was a common situation or a one off as I don't read about this too much on the boards. Where we were eating, the birds were above us and because they kept landing on something very dusty, the dust kept falling down, into our food. It wasn't a major deal to us because we were nearly finished then but I did think it was sort of odd and wondered if this happened often. I guess someone that has allergies could have an issue? :confused3

We still had a great time, birds and all! :rotfl:

"Waiter, what's this bird poop doing in my soup ??"

"Floating, Madam."

I don't remember the food area being covered, but that's good to know. I know doors would be impossible, but looks there could be something to scare the birds away from the entrances. :confused3 Maybe scarecrows.:lmao:

They were there last week! We had an early dinner and actually saw one land on the floor near our table. The baby seemed to think it was awesome, so I didn't mind. :) We'll be back in August!

I've seen birds in my supermarket and at BJ's. If there's an open door, they will come in.

At each of the monorail entrances, they placed a fake owl over the track. The birds are supposed to be afraid of the owls, but it looks like they've realized he won't move. :) There really isn't much more they can do.

Frankly though, I'm more concerned with 5 year olds licking the macaroni and cheese serving spoon than a bird. :lmao: Don't ask how I know this.

The owls used to move but are now in "B" mode.

maybe they can install some strobe lighting to make them look like they are moving.

Oh really I never knew they did that before, so I just learned something new.
