Starting at AK on August 23rd then at the other parks following.
I know they did facial recognition trials for awhile, then took them all away. They pretty much had to bring them back. It's just too easy to share APs without it. And you really don't want the "take a photo with an iPad" method of verification like they have at DL. That REALLY backs the lines up.
Universal started theirs back up last summer (maybe early fall?). I agree its surprising it took this long.Universal had theirs going when I went. I was surprised Disney bothered to keep them out of service for so long.
Just curious, was it because of germ phobia or was it a refusal to "give up his fingerprint"?Try being with a family member that would not use it... we all used the scanner then we had to wait for a cm to check his ID as we sat around waiting for the cm. .. it was not a quick process
My ds25 " doesnt want to be in the system" no matter what I told him he would not.Just curious, was it because of germ phobia or was it a refusal to "give up his fingerprint"?
My only issue with it is it does slow down the lines, some people can't understand they have to use the same finger every time and some people's fingers just don't read.I don't really see the big deal. If it helps prevent people from sharing tickets/APs to get out of paying, I'm all for it! I'm more surprised it took this long to come back.
Right!! We know the dispenser will be empty.Anyone know if they are giving them a quick wipe down before each use?
I am sure that of the hundreds who are touching each scanner someone is going to have COVID.
Actually, I guess I answered my own question. I'll be sure to bring my own disinfectant.
