Bin laden dead!
im sorry.that was the day it was confirmed that it was Bin Laden. As for why Obama said today they are saying that he chose tonight to announce it .they are saying that
they are saying that over the last 5 6 or 7 days that the Pakistani people had to have wind of him being killed.and yet we are just learning of it.
I am geting this from a couple of news sources.

I think Obama may have just misspoke.
Yeah and these same sources were all saying it was a missile strike from an unmanned drone that killed bin Laden.

So I'm (for the moment) going to take the President at his word about the timing of the events over random "sources".

I don't care how when or where.the fact that he is finally dead is a great success.:woohoo:

funny - in an interesting wway.

i said to my mom - i wonder if someone will look into a camera and do that squeel that women did the day after 911 when they got the info over there

it's a vivid memory in my mind i wanted to reach in an punch her face in

my mom said - no it's not the american culture but are you guys seeing all the people outside the whitehouse chanting and jumping in front of the cameras.
Squealing women "over there" were celebrating the deaths of thousands of innocent people. We're celebrating the death of the murderer, responsible for MANY other murders besides 9/11.

No doubt we will get the real scoop over the next few days :thumbsup2

All the gritty details will eventually make it out there. Like when they found Sadam Hussein in that hole in the ground.

that's not what i meant - it was a vivid memory and everyone was talking about it and i just wondered if people would do something like that knowing that those followers watch CNN as a "right back at you" kind of thing.

apparently 3 others were killed including a women the cowards used as a shield.

What news!

I'm glad he was killed and not captured.

Can you imagine the circus his trial would have been?

TC :cool1:

I agree, he's not worth the money it would cost us. I'm glad he's dead. Very glad and it might be the first time I've actually celebrated a death. Feels ok though.

Wow, that's crazy to think he had this on his mind while visiting the Alabama tornado damage.

He can probably do everything from Air Force One that he can do from the Oval Office. He had a busy morning for sure.

My parents are British and trust me - they had the same feelings when the news of Hitlers death came across the radio.

it's ok to be happy a true evil monster is dead

Same here. It goes against my nature to be happy about a death, but tonight my nature must be ok with it!:thumbsup2

I think I heard his son was killed, too. But I'm not sure.

i thought i heard that too but i was in the middle of changing channels so i wasn't sure.

i do know they said his #2 man wasn't there so he's still out and about ready for revenge.

i'm thinking the alert in teh States should be increased though with all their sleeper cells they have the patience to wait .

it's going to be hard to take down the followers. since they split off so much

ETA: 3,00o to 4,000 at WTC site. Police have given up trying to contain the crowds. They are letting them celebrate.

Great news. But it does scare me that there will be retaliation. He wasn't alone in all this.

I'm very scared about retaliation. Especially since my family and I will be flying in a total of 4 planes this coming weekend. :sad2:

What a night. I was about to settle in and watch a Royal Wedding recap when they came on about this announcement forthcoming from the president. I figured it was something about Libya.

So many feelings, relief, happiness ( I am happy he's dead and I won't apologize for it), and pride in our military but also worry. Retailiation will probably be a very real factor.

While I can understand the relief and yes even happiness, I can't say I am liking this drunken looking crowd in front of the White House. I hope they realize the very people who made this possible are in a very dangerous position, even more than usual. This is a good thing for sure, but its not cause for something quite this boisterous in nature. Maybe I am getting old and grouch, don't know.

God bless our troops, they have done us proud yet again.

ABC is saying that Bin Laden was involved in the shooting. That's kind of a surprise to me. Oh, but it doesn't matter, dead is dead.
