I hope I am on the correct forum...anyway, DH and I just exchanged into the Concierge Collection (Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix AZ) for a long 4 night weekend (Memorial weekend)....have any of you Disers been to this location? What can you tell me about it?

My DH is an avid golfer and I like to hang at the spas

BTW, for 3 days of points you book, you get a free fourth day...they are running a special for the month of May.

Oh, have fun!

We stayed there once almost 25 years ago...obviously not on DVC points ;) ...and had a wonderful time. I remember the resort as absolutely beautiful. We had a huge room. We dined at Le Orangerie (I think that was the name) one night and had a great meal.

My husband did play golf there but I didn't. The grounds were lovely and I remember a beautiful mosaic tile swimming pool. Our oldest son started to stand while we were there. :goodvibes All three of us enjoyed the pool.

Hopefully someone with a more recent trip will be along. :flower: But thanks for the memories! :sunny:

Well...I've never stayed there....but, I've BEEN there (we live in Phx). It is a BEAUTIFUL resort...(actually, it could be Nirvana for golfers). It is located near all the "exclusive" shopping in Scottsdale.

When DH is golfing (and you are not in the spa), definitely check out all the shopping in the area. Scottsdale Fashion Square is a great mall. Old Town Scottsdale is a neat diversion...and, there are MANY more "exclusive" nooks and crannies to check out.

Phoenix is a beautiful place to visit (except in July and August)....it's just not my favorite place to live (but, I know it could be worse).

Have fun!!!

bz8bls: How did you find out about the 4th night free deal? My girlfriend & I were looking to go in April/May, but prices were a little higher than I expected. How many pts for 3 nights?

My DH and I just decided today to do an impromptu trip for Memorial weekend and he wanted to go somewhere other than Florida...so I called MS and asked them what was available in AZ and she told me the Biltmore. MS told me about the extra free night (I think that these 'specials' are posted in the DVC newsletter????)

We opted for the 'premiere' room which was the highest in terms of points (31 per night). I think the points start at 22 per night. The premiere room has a little more square footage and has a balcony or patio.

We just returned from a stay at the Biltmore on points a few weeks ago. We had a "Resort" room, which had a balcony, but since we didn't have a view to speak of, and since it was kind of cold, we never really used it. The room was quite large, however, and very comfortable. We didn't golf there (went to a cheap course on the outskirts of town, b/c the kids wanted to golf with us--didn't want to pay high greens fees, when they mostly like to just ride in the cart), but the courses looked beautiful. The spa there is also supposed to be very good (we are not spa people, so didn't try it). The grounds of the hotel are absolutely beautiful, and the restaurants are good. The location is also convenient to a big shopping mall.

Wish we had gotten the fourth night free deal! Have fun!

P.S. Check out the "big" chess/checkerboard and the croquet lawn.

We went in July of last year and the wife loved it.

It was a little to "Hooty Tooty" for me but the place is beautiful.

If your husband likes golf he will love the place.

BTW, take a walk in the neighborhood surrounding the Biltmore. It is quite a nice walk and the houses are very nice.
