Our wedding was on April 23, and we stayed on property from April 22 through April 27. During this time, we used our credit card to pay the remainder of our balances and a few times on dining. Our tours and most of our ADRs were already paid for (via the same credit card) months earlier.
On May 1, I was checking my credit card and noticed a charge from Disney that I did not recognize. I eventually found the billing inquiry number for Disney (407.828.5630 in case anyone needs it) and asked them about the charge.
They were able to trace it back to DFTW but couldn't tell what the charge was for. We ended up circling back with my planner, who eventually told me that the charge was an error and that it will be credited back to me.
On the one hand,
that they're going to credit this back to me! On the other, it's a little
that if I didn't know my Disney charges down to the dollar, I wouldn't have noticed the charge. It wasn't a big amount, only $48.50, but it's the principle of the thing, you know?
In conclusion, even Disney isn't infallible. Brides, make sure you keep track of all your pre-wedding, wedding, and honeymoon events. Keep receipts from dinner and sourvenirs (just throw 'em into an envelope and look at it when you get home). I don't blame Disney for making a mistake, and they definitely stepped up when I asked them to look into it, but it's definitely better to be aware.
P.S. I suppose this is true of anything you use your credit card for, not just Disney and not just for weddings! I guess it's true of any time you use your card! OK, maybe I should go post this on the Budget Board too.
