Hi, I'm new here and am really enjoying all of the information provided by all of you in the know. I'm looking at the CC excursion that includes the stingray encounter, the tubes, the snorkeling, and the biking. However, I'm not sure that we need to include the biking part of the excursion. It will just be for me and my 5 year old DD. DD is just now getting comfortable on a bike. Our trip is in October.

So, has anybody gone biking on CC? Did you enjoy it? Are the pathways hard to navigate? Are they flat? Are the pathways shady? Can a beginner like DD handle it? Any information would be appreciated?

I would suggest waiting until you get to CC to decide whether or not you want to rent bikes. They're available all day so there's really no need to reserve in advance (as is the snorkel gear).

DD13 and I rented bikes last November and it was an enjoyable ride, mostly flat. I didn't pay attention enough to any younger children biking to be able to tell you how your DD5 would do but I'm sure someone else here will give you some helpful advice.

We did a bike ride at CC when my younger son was just comfortable on a bike. It's nice that they have a variety of sizes so you should be able to get one that fits her well, and if I'm not mistaken, they had some with training wheels but that might have changed by now.

Anyway, the paths were easy to ride on and of course you can ride on the road, too. It's a great way to get some exercise after being on the ship for a few days!

Great idea to wait until you get there and size everything up.
We booked in advance, and loved the bike ride. Some of the trail is paved, the rest is what looks like crushed granite, very easy to rise a bike on. They have water stations along the way.

They have training wheels, and kid carrier seats for the very small kids - My 5yr old rode the whole way - the 3 yr old rode in the carrier seat behind me - This was a lot of fun for us - We enjoyed exploring the island - I also suggest waiting to see if you want to do this when you get there -- There are tons of bikes of all sizes - I can't imagine they ever run out - Most bikers are not out that long - (maybe 1 hour or so?)

I also would not pre-book anything except for maybe the Stingray thing - Floats, bikes, snorkel stuff etc - are all readily available with no advance booking. No sense wasting money - you may get iffy weather - or you child may want to go to the Club - or just swim.

We did the Stingray thing with my kids - 5yr old loved it - 3 yr freaked out and would not even stay in the water - It is very cool - and I still would recommend it - Even if they don't like the in water experience - you still learn a lot from the staff
