Bike helmets @ CC

My family is interested in renting bikes at Castaway Cay but we will have a 2 year old at the time and don't want to take her on the bike ride unless she has a safety helmet. Does anyone know if they rent toddler size bike helmets at CC or should we bring our own?

Helmets are requited for kids, so you won't need to bring your own. You may have to dig around in the barrel to find one that fits just right, but they have tons of helmets.

How small do the bikes go in size? My 3 year-old would love a 12 inch to ride for awhile.

They had all kinds of different sizes. They also had ones with a toddler seat on the back.

We were just there in May and I specifically looked for 12-inch bikes, but saw none in the bike parking lot nor anywhere else as we biked around the island. The smallest bikes were 16-inch; these came with and without training wheels (mostly without).

Yes, some of the 16-inch bikes have training wheels.

What about helmets for older teens and adults??

I want to rent bikes as well but I am not wearing a helmet that was on someone else's head, that to me is just too gross, especially when you mix in the sand and sun lotions

Just like the other equipment it is dipped in a "bleach" like solution after every use.

I am sure they are 100% clean per Disney standards, it still just grosses me out knowing someone else wore them. Just my thing I guess

So what is the rule for older teens and Adults and helmets?

They told us helmets are required for anyone under 18yo. It could have been "18 and under" but I didn't notice because my kids are younger. Either way, they didn't ask for id during the rental process and you're on your own when you pick a bike from the racks and a helmet (or not) from the bins.
