I was considering renting a bike and floats. What type of bikes are they? Are they individual or the family kind that you found at the each?

Is the float rental worth it? Do I have to keep the tube with me?

they are single bikes. My dad rented the floats but we never used them. They aren't exactly "beach friendly" if that makes sense. But the bikes are worth it. Thats the only way they let people get to the observation deck. pirate:

You can rent a tube or float. My daughter rented a bike also and had a great ride around the island.

They have kids bikes both with and without training wheels. My DD isn't a huge cyclist and still enjoyed being able to ride around the island with the training wheels on the bike. They also provide helmets, which are required for kids.

We rented floats for the first time on our 7th cruise, and I think that we'll have to do so for every cruise from now on! We used them so much in the water in June! Next time maybe we'll get a float and a tube.

As for keeping them with you, we just put them by our chairs when we weren't in the water or when we went up to lunch. No one messed with our stuff.

We love the floats (as previous posted stated you have a choice of a float or a tube). You do not have to prebook, there are plenty available. You can pick up one at 2 different places on the family beach. I learned this the hard way; dragged 2 floats all the way down the beach b4 learning there was another rental location. Save your receipt and you can pick up another one at no xtra charge at Serenity Bay iwithout having to haul one with you which is pretty much impossible. Have not used the bikes but fellow cruisers had no problem with last minute rental on the island. They are old style but seemed to be fairly new and in good shape. Have heard there are different sizes and even baby seats. Someone else may have more definite info on the bikes.

Ditto. Used floats and tubes for the first time this past week. Will definitely do them again. Tips:

1) As a PP said, don't haul them around. Find the closest tube/float shack to where your "spot" on the beach is.
2) No need to pre-book. Plenty available.
3) Don't worry about losing track of them or dragging them around. Keep your receipt and take it to get another one when you need it.
4) The tubes are a bit hard to get into. My kids liked them, but I definitely liked the float better.

Our first cruise was this past Easter. I prebooked, two packages, with tube, snorkel gear and bikes. I will not do that next time, my kids barely used it. I had to force them to take a bike ride. One of our tubes went missing in the middle of the day.

Like previous posters. There are plently of tubes and gear. We are going again next August. I will rent the stuff when and if needed.
:)
Enjoy!

We rented the bikes on two of our cruises and they are fun, if nothing more than for the breeze they provide. The tubes? Well, if you like to float along, then yes, they are fun. But I think most everyone likes to snorkel instead. Tubes are not much good for that, except to pride a place to rest if you're tired.
