Biggest park peeves?

Oh! I have another one ... Table Vultures. People who sit with at an empty CS table while the wife/hubby goes to get food. Meanwhile, my family comes along with our food on a tray and we wander around with our food getting cold because we can't find a place to sit with all the Vultures are hogging empty tables. When it's especially busy Disney tries to stop the "table squatting" at Pecos Bills and Cosmic Rays but individually seating people, but even then I saw some Vulture who thought he and his family were above the rules.

ETA: I have no problem with people saving a table when it's not busy. As long as people with food in their hands have a place to sit I'm happy.

I am seriously confused as to why this is a problem :confused3 Literally everywhere I have ever been, anywhere, ever, if you have a large party, you divide and conquer. An able bodied adult or two goes through the line, everyone else finds a table.

Um, why are you confused?? The poster stated the EXACT reason why it's a problem!

There's a reason why Cosmic Rays prohibits people from sitting at a table unless they have food (not sure if they do that all the time or just when it's busy)

Because it's REALLY fun when I'm a solo traveler and walk around the restaurant with a tray of food and have to prop it on a trash can. The tables of full, not of people eating, but people who are sitting waiting for others (or brought their own food from home). Why not send one person in to order and have the others go to a gift shop for a couple minutes?

Being first in the line for a bus, waiting 10+ mins., and then having a large family accompanying a person on a wheelchair/scooter and them taking up the entire bus. That happened 3 times our last visit, we were front of the line each time and had to wait because of a big crowd with one wheelchair rider amongst them that took the entire bus. I really think they should limit the amount of people that can go on along side the scooter rider. Its ridiculous to let an entire family cut in front of the line because one member is in a wheelchair. We missed a few other buses because they load all the scooter people first even if they just arrived and we had been standing and waiting. They really need to put some rules on that and be equally fair to everyone. Having mobility issues shouldn't give you permission to bypass a line.

Even if two scoters load with 6 people each if you were at the front of the line why wasn't there space?

We've had the opposite issue. The first people at the bus stop with my mo in an ecv and having to wait through several buses due to being the second ak resort to load. And you know what? They kept loading everyone on buses even though we were there first!

They are only supposed to let a maximum of 5 people load with the chair user. Also, most of the park bus lines have changed so that a W/C does not separate out of the line until they get almost to the front of the line....close enough that they would get on the bus anyway.

Not that poster, but in a busy full restaurant there aren't enough tables for those with food and those waiting to order. There are only enough for the people who have their food.

If everyone waits to get a table until they have their order then the numbers work.

Actually there are just not enough tables. Even if everyone waited till they got their food there would still not be enough space. If you are traveling with multiple children it is difficult to find a table when they are all burdened down with food. You are all in the way, can't move fast enough to find a table (people with no children move way faster!) and then someone drops their food and you end up back in line. It is a nightmare. I try to avoid CS during the busy hours but I have all the sympathy for some parent sitting with some tired children while the other parent grabs the food.

I have sympathy. But there isn't any reason that the children can't wait elsewhere. Tables in crowded restaurants aren't the only seats in wdw. I have sympathy for the single mom who stood in line with her young children and is trying to find a seat but can't because someone else has divided and conquered. Adding more seating takes space and that is finite.

Picture it: I am at the Fish & Chips place in England (the Epcot England, that is). I have 3 kids with me and 2 trays full of food. There are no free tables, but 3 of them are occupied by people without food - Two have people waiting in the absurdly long line getting food for them, and one has people who have finished eating, but are hanging around chatting. So we sat cross legged on the ground (next to one of the foodless tables) and ate picnic-style.

We finished eating before any of them came with food.

That's why it's wrong.

Crazy.

This was our exact experience last time we ate at Somerfest (minus the kids).

I want to think that people are not being rude and inconsiderate, although I bet I'm wrong in some cases. I want to think that they believe what works at their Burger King back home works at Pecos Bill's also.

I don't see where sympathy for tired kids comes into it. Disney put those tables there for people to eat at, not for people to rest at. Therefore, the needs of the eating people take precedence over the needs of the resting ones.

The last time we were at Pecos Bill they weren't allowing the practice of holding tables. My MIL is one of those "I'll go get a table" people and it really messed up her plan. ;)

I'm here now, and I apologize if this has been said before but when people cut in front of me while I'm waiting my turn to see an attraction such as the cars you can sit in at test track. I was about into the drivers seat of the Camero and this lady slipped in the passenger seat and slid over while her husband snapped pictures. It was frustrating. There were a bunch of irritating things at EPCOT today.

Poor lady!

I don't go during crowded seasons so people can practically lie down an take a nap at the cs's. but it amazes me that people don't understand the basic math.

this would be me. in 2010 my whole family went to the world and my one son age 25 at the time was in a scooter. lines were long but we got to get on the bus first yes my entire family. getting on the buses listening to the hoots and hollars
why dont we get in the line and wait like everyone else
my 25 year old son got hurt in iraq a fews ago and will never be able to stand in that line ever again. i would trade places with any of those peoeple if by only a word
why cant i stay with my family because one is in a wheelchair

Also people who leave during Carousel of Progress causing the ride to reset.:furious:

:scared1: I have never experienced this, but I would be furious. The CM should tell them sit back down unless they have an emergency. Just outrageous.

I'm a hair claustrophobic and very antsy about personal space, so the whole pushing in line, leaning on me gets to me also. I find this happens most from older non-English speaking women, and figure it must be a cultural thing?

It was a non-English speaking woman that we had a "leaning experience" with also.

1. People who pee on toilet seats and don't clean it up. I get it that they might not want to sit down to pee, but if they pee on it, they should clean it. Why should a stranger using the toilet after them be the one responsible for cleaning someone else's pee?? I just don't get it!

This is so nasty! It happens everywhere and I never understood it either.

This whole scooter/wheelchair drama has me worried. I rented a scooter for our next visit. It was drastically cheaper to rent from a third party company, which means bringing it on the bus. I hate the thought of it and have been dreading it since I made the decision.

I don't want to load first or butt in line. Unfortunately, I don't see any way around it. :sad2:

I wasn't speaking of people who were just sitting waiting but people who were waiting for their food to arrive. Shrug...we will agree to disagree on this one. I would never sit at a table just to hang out and rest and force a person with food to sit on the ground but I am also see nothing wrong with sitting with my children while my husband grabs food as long as there are other tables available. Actually when a restaurant is super crowded we often either find a wall or bench to sit at and one grabs the food or we just grab a quick snack and go back later. Not worth the hassle.

Interesting. I'll definitely keep it in mind for our next trip.

I had never seen it prohibited anywhere and it seemed to be what everyone was doing :confused3

I agree with this....why drag 2 kids and ur hubby in a long food line. ..when they can sit at the table. ..have a drink and a snack and wait for me to bring lunch.

You need to load first on the bus for safety reasons. There will always be people that give looks or be judgmental, just remember you are there on vacation and will never see those people again.

If people are seeing 10 - 15 people load with a scooter that is the bus drivers fault. The rule is five people plus the scooter can enter through the back, if there are more people in the traveling party they are suppose to go through the front. If Disney would enforce their own rules and have enough staff at the loading zones there would not be an issue.

I can almost guarantee you that this is the case. This happens at every food court/fast food place I have been and there are never problems. Not sure why WDW should be an exception?
