Biggest Losser 4 Week 7 -- challenge pg 4 post 48

Good SUnday morning. Justr a short note before I get dressed to tackle the day.

THis challenge has done just that challenged me to keep moving. Yesterday I did 30 minutes of walking and 40 minutes of yoga and pilates. This morning was 30 minutes of pilates and 30 minutes of walking. I hope everyone else trys to complete this challenge because it will open your eyes as to what you can do when you set your mind to it. Thanks ohMOm for this challenge. IT is a great one to get you moving.

Eating has been okay for me the last couple of days. I spent a lot of time cleaning my closet yesterday. It is always a mess. DH and I have never shared a closet in the 30 years we have been married. That is one of our biggest secrets to a long and happy marriage. :laughing: :laughing: It's true.

Have to go and get dressed. Will check in tonight or earlly tomorrow morning.

Oooh, another October birthday! What day are you MercoBear? I'm the 19th.
I'm the 16th. It is a popular time. I know quite a number of people with birthdays between about the 10th of the month through the end of October. Too late for New Year's Eve and too early for Valentine's Day, but a popular time none the less....
 
In answer to the QOTD, my favorite season is summer because it stays light out longer, I don't need to wear a coat and I have a convertible :car: .

Good morning all,

Was not a good choice week end at my house. My son was home from college so too much eating & cooking. But it was nice to see him.

Have a great Monday- The gym on base is closed do to the holiday- but not all of us are off. So I am hoping I get the motivation to walk.
 
Happy monday everyone. I hope that your weekends weren't too rough. I didn't get "official" exercise in on Fri or Sat, but I spend a lot of time running around the house cleaning, setting up and getting ready for DD's birthday party. Of course, that then led to not having a great Sat. I didn't track calories so I don't know how I did that day, but I had a good breakfast, no lunch, too much cake, some ice cream and a very late dinner that would have been okay (Chick-Fil-A grilled chicken) had I not been so hungry by then that I inhaled the whole order of fries. I usually eat about half of a kids meal order and this time ate the whole medium order. I knew that I should have started with the sandwich! Oh well, today is another day. Sunday wasn't too bad, but today will be great! I did exercise last night so I'm back on track there. I don't think I'm going to make it down to 199 by tomorrow, but who knows. I have had a good week otherwise. Either way, I will be there by month end so I'm still excited!

c. I walked for a whole HOUR!!
d. In the RAIN!!!

I am really proud of myself, becuase usually I am so good at using any excuse to get out of exercising, but not today. I was ready to go. we walked out the door, and it was just starting to rain, so we grabbed our umbrellas and walked! The rain was on and off, and then the last 10 minutes it was steady and just got harder and harder.

I feel GOOD!!!!!!:woohoo:

I am not proud of myself today and yesterday. I had done great all week, but bought 2 bags of chips because they were on sale, and I have finished one all by myself. I did write it all down, all 24 points, but am over my flex points for the week. And the day before weighin. Duh! Oh, well, I'm done for the night, and tomorrow is a new day, and I'm bringing the second bag to my friends house for her kids.

Congrats Wendy on walking in the rain. I barbequed chicken in the rain tonight.

Everyone repeat after me: FOCUS,FOCUS, FOCUS We can do this. There are times in the last couple of days where I would find myself mindlessly eating and I had to stop myself a couple of times. I have gotten a great deal of exercise but off and on I have fallen off the wagon. Put the chips away and head to the fruit. We can do this.

Don't forget that there will be a new thread tomorrow morning. THe challenge for this week ends on Tuesday so get in your last minutes of exercise. It has really made me think about how much more I could be doing to help myself in terms of exercise.

Hi everyone,

I am sorry to read the most recent posts regarding struggles with food that a couple have had over the weekend. Hang in there. The main thing is to get back on track as soon as possible. We must catch ourselves as soon as we recognize our misbehavior of making bad food choices. I make some and then consider that the next day is back at it. I am not sure if others feel likes I do, but I am to the point where when I do eat too much and make bad choices I really do not feel well at all. I am happy for that. I am not sure if it was here on a post or not, but we need to "embrace hunger".

I want to take a minute also to wish everyone good luck for tomorrow's weigh in. I am hopeful myself.

I keep making the goal to get to sparkpeople and start tracking what I eat, but "real life" keeps getting in the way and I have not had much time for just me on the computer, other than posting here and keeping myself up to date (wish I do enjoy doing!!!)

Going back to the Qotd. I am really torn here. Living in Michigan I get exposed to all the seaons quite a bit - even sometimes all 4 in the same day! I enjoy them all very much, but if I have to pick one it would be the fall season, apples, leaves, football, some summer heat without much humidity, the list is endless.!!!!

As far as my responses to the questions that were posted in the challenge -- my favorite exericse has to be the nordic track, lots of movement and burning of calories without impact. However, I must mention that now that I am doing some c25k (beginning running/jogging program), I am enjoying the treadmill a lot more. When the weather is nice, I have no problem going for a walk outside. I have such a sedentary job (medical transcription) that I enjoy moving around a lot when I can.

The struggles that I have overcome to make sure I find exercise time is to be really organized. I must stay on task/schedule at work as well as when I get home. The best time for me to exercise is in the 1 hour window between 4 to 5pm, then I start dinner, do dishes, clean up and shower myself for the next day, getting up at 5 a to punch in by 7am; M-F. The weekends are much easier. I am sure we all struggle with "real life", for example tomorrow may turn out to be a rest day as there is oil change for the car after work, dinner, then a hair appointment at 7pm. Rest days are important, however, for our body to recover. We also need to deal with "me time from children and spouses. I feel that I do not struggle as much as others here, as DD is 24 and out on her own at this point. I do try to pay attention to her, though as she will call on the cell and want to chat. DD is also trying to get more exercise - she understands where I am coming from when I say I need to get to exercising. The 2 of us are keeping track of how many miles our homes are from disney and keeping a timeline of how far we have yet to go.

Boy, sorry this got so lengthy, guess I had a lot to say from not posting over the weekend.

Good evening everyone! Hope everyone had a good Monday!

I feel pretty good about today. I got my Last Chance Workout in!:woohoo: I went to the gym and did a class called Hi/Lo Cardio :cool1: It was tough, but I managed to do all of it (had to slow down on some though).

I also ate good today and even turned down going to lunch with my co workers even when they kept saying "are you sure" over and over again :rolleyes: So, I'm proud of that. I also chewed some gum when I started to want to eat chocolate this afternoon. It really helped me to resist the cravings :thumbsup2

Also we have been doing a challenge at work and our weigh in is on Mondays. I was down 1.5 pounds there this week. I am hoping to see at least that much in tomorrow's weigh in here :wizard: :cheer2:

ohMom, what's your "name" on SP? I'm on there too now, thanks to you and some others! I'm WHGRN60 (since whgrn wasn't long enough). I LOVE SparkPeople--it's such a great way to keep track!

I'm hoping to get in another 60 minutes of cardio tomorrow so I will be close to the whole 75 points, or maybe even all the way there, not sure. Guess we'll see what we come up with!
 
Can I join? I want to be at goal for Sept trip to Disney! I started at 232 last May and Today...dum..dum..dum... 198!!! So goal for now is 150. What day do we weigh in?
 
Welcome tinaninea! We weigh-in on Tuesdays so you're just in time to start the new week with us. Be sure to look for the week 8 thread to start tomorrow. It will be linked from the last post on this thread.

Good luck on weigh-ins tomorrow everyone! I am pretty confident there will be a loss tomorrow, but I don't think that I'll reach my 199 goal. I am going to make it by month end though! That I am determined to do.

Way to go on the walking Wendy! That's the way to do it. I got myself on the bike tonight even though I didn't get home until almost 9:30. I did my strength while babysitting at my sisters before that so that I had fewer excuses when I got home.
