Good morning all and welcome to the first official day of the Biggest Loser Sizzlin' Hot Summer Challenge!
Please be sure to PM your starting weight to
dvccruiser76 and your starting WIN! number to
Janis, if you are doing WIN!.
CC has done a great job getting off to an excellent start for HH -- everyone should be getting HH points this week!
QOTD Friday, June 1, 2012: So do you have a plan for how you are going to make your goals for the challenge? Share your plan and your goals big and small for this challenge.
I have a bad habit of forgetting to answer my own QOTD.
My big goal for this challenge is to get into the 170's. That will get me close to my goal weight which is where I want to be by the time I go for my Coast-to-Coast medal at the Wine & Dine Half in November.

I'm going to do the same things I did when I was the biggest loser in the Fall challenge -- track everything on MFP and scrupulously follow my training schedule. I am also going to add one stretch and tone class (like yoga) and at least one strength workout to my exercise plan.
Welcome to Healthy Habits Week 1: Let's Get Ready for the Trip!
Love the mini-challenges this week,
CC!

Like a good teacher, you have us all intrigued and paying attention wondering about the laundry detergent!
Wow, how many "Jen's" are we up too now?
So ready to get moving on this challenge! Am going to measure tonight ( which is probably not a good idea after the day I have had" and weigh tomorrow.

Yes, this does seem to be the "Jen" challenge!
Good luck with the measuring! Just think how happy you will be as those numbers start going down!
Rose, great advise for
Jen on the family thing!
I do, I do! I have a plan! My big goal is to finish the summer (which contains three total weeks of vacation (2 trips)) with a maintain or a gain of no more than two pounds.
You do have a great plan,
Liz!
OK it is a huge bit of bragging, but since I did it, I can brag. Just finished first semester of grad school with 4.0

Congratulations!
My name is Michelle and I'm super excited to be joining the summer challenge!!! I participated in the last challenge and did really well. I'm about 40% to my goal and am looking forward to losing more weight and inches this challenge.
Hi
Michelle! Nice to see you!

Great job on the last challenge -- I know you will have a super summer!

Hey Buffy, I think I figured it out. See if I friended you. (Or it could be some random person ... LOL!)

I think it was the right one -- I sent you a friend request, too.
I loved working in DS's elementary school -- the kids are so entertaining! Of course, now that DS is in middle school I am not permitted to get any closer to the school than around the corner and I must stay
in the car at all costs.
Intro QOTD (Question of the Day) 5/30/12: Please introduce yourself.
I'm Reenie. I live in the Chicago suburbs with my DH and our 3 kids - DS almost 16, DD 13, and DS 8. My spring and summers seem to revolve around baseball as both my boys play. I work full time and commute to the city most days. I do get some exercise each day as I have a 7 block walk from the train to the office I work at.
Hi
Reenie!

I think you should get extra credit for walking around in work clothes, especially high heels.
My long term goal is to lose 75 pounds. My small goals include :
- Losing 20 pounds by the end of this challenge
- Taking my kids outside more for physical activity
- Drinking at least 5 glasses of water a day
I'm on my way to healthier living!

You are on your way!
QOTD Friday, June 1, 2012: So do you have a plan for how you are going to make your goals for the challenge? Share your plan and your goals big and small for this challenge.
My goals for this summer are to lose twenty pounds, start run/walking instead of just walking during my training and to do at least seven of the nine workouts I'm schedualed to do each week for my up coming triathlon. My plan is to take one day at a time, because if I look at the big picture it looks a little crazy!

Absolutely!
My goals are
1)Lose 1 pound a week so that equals 13 pounds over the course of the challenge.
2)Finish C25K and run a 5K. (We are registered for a 5K June 23)
3)Start cooking dinner 1 day a week outside of Nutrasystem.
My plan is to keep up with Nutrasystem, running 3 days a week by finishing C25K then moving on to 10K training, yoga at least 4 days a week, 30 day shred at least 3 days a week, drink LOTS of water (I live in South Texas so we are already in the 90s). I am also signed up for a Strength and Sculpt class starting Tuesday and a Zumba class starting Thursday.
I am looking at Nutrasystem as a way to help me learn how to eat better. I hate the fact that all my food is coming out of a box with detailed instructions on how to and what to eat. But I also recognize that I need that right now. I really hope I can meet goal #3 and make great healthy meals for DH and I.
There are at least 2 other races I will be signing up for but they are not until the fall. I will be looking for one in July and one for August.
I will throw in my long term goals.
I want to run a half marathon within the next year. I would love to run a Disney race but the timing wont get us to WDW until at least 2014.
I want to lose 50+ pounds and maintain the weight loss. I am not in any rush right now to lose it. 1 pound a week is making me very happy and I know that is the best way to do it.
I need to learn to cook healthy. There are very few things I can cook and most are not too good for you! I would be so happy if I could find a healthy cooking class in my area.
I love that you have included your short and long term goals.
(And as I write this I am listening to the Main Street Welcome Song.....thanks for the inspiration Lisa!)
Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one hearing that song in my head today!
And you have a great plan!
My plan is to stay active in here for the accountability. I am a wee bit competetive, so I am hoping this helps me out as I try and win Biggest Loser title LOL. Goals are to make it to Onederland by end of summer, which might possibly be doable if I am VERY GOOD.
That competitiveness will help you, especially if you stick with us all summer!
Dona, enjoy your trip!
I love reading everyone's goals and plans! Keep 'em coming!
I am going to apologize because as an example of poor planning on my part I will not have computer access for a good part of the day and will be catching up later this afternoon. Sorry!

Office move.
