Hi LoveDVC!

Our next challenge begins Jan 1st, 2011. It is the Spring 2011 BL Challenge. There is a separate thread for it on the wish board....you can simply post there to sign up for it or you can PM Rose&Mike. On this thread - the Alumni BL thread we are just chatting while in between challenges for a few weeks.

:welcome: We are glad you are joining us! :goodvibes

Good morning everyone! For some reason I am up early this morning. I hate it because I know I will be tired later on today. I keep going over gifts in my mind. I am wondering if I need to get 'better' gifts for our friends that are taking us to their mountain house Sunday. I need to decide today.
We are going to another friends house today at 2:00. He always cooks a big Mexican feast for friends. Then we will have my Mom's Christmas party tonight. I got into a spat last night with one of my sisters. It's left me feeling a little down today. What is Christmas without a little family drama though:rotfl: Have a great day all:goodvibes

Shawnprincess:

Good morning everyone. How is everyone doing?

We more than half way wrapped. Just families and ds's gf to do. I have to get bread and rolls today. I have to call my dsis. Her dh always goes to a great bakery. He usually buys too much but I want to make sure he gets some specially for me.

I have to cook this morning but since no one is coming to the house except ds's gf we don't have to do a super cleaning like we used to.

Just wanted to come on and wish everyone

Merry Christmas

Probably won't be on until Sunday unless everything goes into place.

Have a great day.

Thursday Dec 23 QOTD: What small changes would you recommend to a friend just beginning their weight loss journey?
Tayrn: DS & I went to see Straight No Chaser last year, it was their last concert of 2009. I bought her some cute boots and a jean jacket from Old Navy. They were only $27 together!
Great deal at Old Navy! I bet the SNC concert was great! I'm totally loving hearing all about your NC vacation, I bet very few of us know what Belk is. Although, my MIL still calls it Leggets. You'll have those jeans on by the end of January with pride! I agree with you, I despise CiCi's. Brad is all about it - "you get lots more for your money" Well, if it's NASTY you don't!

QOTD: Small changes do add up. I would first cut out any liquid sugar if you haven't already. Getting over my Sun Drop addiction was huge! Then, start journaling your food into some sort of program that lets you see how many calories you are eating. That alone is a motivator!

We did the sleeping bag beside the bed a few times with DH too - hope the night terrors don't come back!:
You made your DH sleep in a sleeping bag?:lmao:

On this day of the holiday challenge my true love gave to me . . . ten minutes of leaping, nine moves of dancing, eight minutes relaxing, seven laps of swimming, six days of journaling, FIVE HAPPY WISH'ERS!, four motivating words, three sets of ten, two exercise gloves and a big glass of water for me!
LOVE THIS!!!!!

:Wow! That was exciting -- and for some reason that song "it's a small, small world" is going through my mind.
Thanks. I sang it all day, too. Hope you had luck finding your running tights, and the lights were nice!

I am enjoying my morning coffee and decided i'm going to take all the time I want right now to catch up with everyone here. It's funny, I'll see my family and my 2 best friends in the next few days, but I talk to you all here more than anyone else, and wish you were closer and we could all get together for a holiday gathering. I'm actually surprised that I am maintaining. Wish I was closer, I'd come over and have a good cry with you. Hope you can take some time to reminisce, the good and bad times, and that the good memories will take over.
ITA, I skimmed on and off reading yesterday, Brad and AK were asking for the computer some, so I was on the itouch and replying is just not my thing on there. I was thinking how I wish we could get together, if nothing else just so I can hug everyone! I have to admit, kinda jealous that you'll all get to meet at teh Princess. But I am happy for you, so don't fear my voodoo dolls yet! I'm not surprised you are maintaining, you are getting those workouts in like mad! I was very... introspective yesterday. Ever have those moments where you are in the midst of things, and yet mentally feel like you are on the outside watching?

The boys are very excited and Lisa if you are reading this reply...yes Im sure my day tomorrow will not be at all relaxing with my boys...they are already bouncing off the walls.....I am an optimist though;) I still have some cleaning tonight and then I have to still wrap every present I bought. Im not going to stress I know it will all get done.
Lindsay, so sorry that you had such a busy day. I know I am very lucky to get this extended time off. Of course, I tend to procrastinate w/o a schedule, but it's okay. I am sure your office is one of the busiest places in the world right now! I had to shift mental gears as AK got older. Christmas Day is a free for all, usually with tears involved at some point from all the over-stimulation. The relaxing comes later. TOMORROW IS :dance3::yay: day! I bet your Willow Tree collection is bigger than mine, though. ;) DH does try to get me something every year or so, my favorite is an Remembrance ornament Mom gave me last year....Hope you got some sleep, and got it DONE!

I will settle for saying thank you for the wonderful anniversary wishes. Howard and I had a lovely dinner out at Sullivans.
Sounds like a very lovely meal, and lovely time! WAY TO GO on being so controlled!!!

My DH and I actually had a special Champgane at our wedding. It's the Banfi Rosa Regale that they have in Italy at Epcot and on the Disney Cruise Line. It's a rose colored champagne, but it's sweet like Asti Spumante so we had that special for everyone to toast with.
Sounds very nice!!! Hope DS is all better and ready to play with boxes and paper. That's what my girls did at that age! Hope you made it safely, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you!

[
Lisa- Anniversary is on Monday. 13 years!!! We're just going to order some take out if the weather is ok and play games and watch movies with the kids. We'd rather start saving for our cruise now!!!
When are you cruising?? I missed that somehow. Our anniversary is Tuesday! Our Christmas/Anniversary gift to each other is HHI....

Good morning everyone. Today is my first day off till January 3rd :cool1: As for the wedding stuff, I have an appointment to go see the train station venue on Monday. As of right now, we like the animation building at DCA, the low cost venue, and this train station venue (even though we havent seen it). Say if we like the train station venue, maybe we can convince DF's boss to cater it for super cheap. That way we will still save some money. My DF does graphic design, so I know we can do all the stationary things cheaper too. Here is a link to an actual wedding that took place at the venue, I love how they name all the dresses on their site. I think I will use them for either engagement pics, researhsal dinner, or any other type of party for the wedding. The Mystery Loves Company dress goes with our vintage theme that we want for the wedding.
Taryn- LOL Ive seen some of David Tutura’s shows with all the tacky stuff. Thanks for your willingness to associate with me to nominate my tacky stuff.
I SO SERIOUSLY HOPE THAT you know I don't think you've gotten anything tacky. It just seems that the people he goes to have the most horrendous collection of stuff (one was mardi gras beads, masks, butterfly wings, football jerseys, plastic ivy, pink flamingos, feather boas, and glittered sunglasses FOR ONE WEDDING!) that they are trying to all work in to a "theme". I just meant for you to hit the dollar store for some decor, and I'll call and ask him for an intervention, then you can get FABULOUS stuff free, I presume! Your dresses are GORGEOUS!

I'll take some of that miracle drug.;) I love the optimist not stressing is key to enjoying the holiday. We have just over a week at Christmas, depending when xmas is, and then we get a week in feb and april. Dylan will be about 4 1/2 then, right? Such a great age to go. Since I've fallen in love with disney after his first trip, I think maybe I should have taken him sooner, but then I think, it may not have been as magical, and I may not have wanted to go back so much. I was going to make my crustless pumpkin pie this afternoon, but remembered one of the boys is allergic to nuts, and I didn't want to chop the pecans with them coming over, so I'll do it tonight after they leave. I really could get used being a stay at home mom, if only someone sends me a rich husband.
I feel so bad for Michael and his teachers. I CANNOT imagine trying to contain kiddos the day before Christmas Eve. Last week was bad enough! But having those 2 weeks later sounds GREAT! We'll get 2 4 day weekends, one in March, one in April. A comment on first trip. When we planned ours last year, Sophie was 2. We were VERY worried, but AK was 9. We had to get there before the magic was gone for her (our original plan was to take her at 7 for our 10th anniversary, but God saw fit to surprise us and I was 8.5 months preg w/ Sophie and on bed rest. :scared1:) Thankfully, she had a blast! Last year was even better b/c she could ride things, and next year she'll be 4.5. We talked about skipping next year, and doing HHI or a cruise instead, but I want to wait a bit since she's still in "PRINCESS MANIA" mode. I feel terrible that AK missed out on all that as a child, but she was such a scaredy-cat, it may have been for the best! Glad you remembered about the nut allergy in time! I SO WISH I could be a stay at home mom, I really think that's what I was "meant" to do. Daddy always told me that I needed to marry a rich man. That was his one "objection" to my engagement "he will never make enough money to keep you the way you want to be kept, but neither did I, so you should be used to it" was his eventual comment!:lmao:

Haven't been around because I was just way too busy with our holiday. We celebrate Yule (the winter solstice), and have a ritual on the longest night. It was a really nice celebration this year, and we had a wonderful time together! Things are settling down again, and I will be around more consistently. Thats amazing! I so wish it would air all over, my family would love to see it too. My husband and I caught opening night, but weren't able to bring everyone else. You can catch it again on UNC-TV Christmas Day, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m, if you want to try and see Ashler.
I'm going to set the DVR to tape it while we are gone at 4. DH laughed his head off when he found out why I was squealing - THAT'S NC SCHOOL OF ARTS! He gets a HUGE kick out of hearing all about all of you all!

We are back from the movies and then Mom and I popped into KMart to look around....I think we have a bad KMart beside the movie theater, we could not find plain white tissue paper. I hope by around 7:00 we will be ready to go eat and then we are going to ride around some fancy neighborhoods and look at lights
We have a stinky KMart, too. Well, the closest KMart is 30 minutes away, so "we" is used loosely here. The only things I ever find in there are cool house things in the Martha Stewart line. And occasionally a toy for a decent price, if the box isn't ripped, shredded, dented, etc.... We were going to ride to look at lights, but it was CRAZY windy here last night, so we nixed that idea!

I'm Melissa I turned 31 in November. I have one daughter, Zoë, and she is 7 going on 17. I can't wait to catch a break and get back to work.
So glad you stopped back on here! I've missed you! I am sending PPD that you catch that break QUICKLY!!!!!

For some reason I am up early this morning. I hate it because I know I will be tired later on today. I keep going over gifts in my mind. I am wondering if I need to get 'better' gifts for our friends that are taking us to their mountain house Sunday. I got into a spat last night with one of my sisters. It's left me feeling a little down today. What is Christmas without a little family drama though
I know what you mean. I am already wondering when I will get my nap in! I also have been going over gifts in my mind, just hoping everyone will like theirs, we'll see. I'm sure just being with your friends will be a great gift for them. If you want to, maybe you can offer to take them out for dinner or something while you are there. Or a nice bottle of wine for those cold Boone nights! Sorry about your sister spat. Emotions always run high at Christmas! Enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone. How is everyone doing?
I have to cook this morning but since no one is coming to the house except ds's gf we don't have to do a super cleaning like we used to.Merry Christmas

Aww... Merry Christmas to you sweet lady! Glad you don't have to mega clean! I hope you have a wonderful time!!!!

Haven't been around because I was just way too busy with our holiday. We celebrate Yule (the winter solstice), and have a ritual on the longest night. We eat a nice dinner and then place little clay people into a cave with a tealight to represent that even in the darkness there is hope for the light and the promise of new beginnings. Afterward, everyone opens one gift.

The next morning we celebrate the birth of the sun with a special breakfast and then open the rest of our presents.

that sounds like a very nice celebration. glad you had a great time.

I hope by around 7:00 we will be ready to go eat and then we are going to ride around some fancy neighborhoods and look at lights.

I hope you had a great time. We use to do this as a kid but now we have a drive through lights display in a local park so I guess that tradition fizzled.:lmao:

I'm Melissa

Hi Melissa....Welcome Back:thumbsup2

I got into a spat last night with one of my sisters. It's left me feeling a little down today. What is Christmas without a little family drama though:rotfl: Have a great day all:goodvibes

Shawnprincess:

That sucks but yes what would the holidays be like without a little spatting right. I hope it clears up quickly.

Just wanted to come on and wish everyone

Merry Christmas

Probably won't be on until Sunday unless everything goes into place.

Have a great day.

Merry Christmas Dona and good luck getting the last of the preperations completed.

Yesterday was a pretty good day, in some respects. DH and his Dad went out for a while yesterday am, and the girls and I watched movies all morning. Anyone remember Nester the Christmas Donkey? I had DVR'd a bunch of movies this month, and that was one of them. We watched that, Crippled Lamb, Legend of the Candy Cane, and Barbie in the Nutcracker. When he got home, we decided to watch Wizard of Oz. Not exactly a Christmas movie, but in the movie Christmas Story they go to a parade, and Mickey is in it, with the characters from WoO. Sophie had never seen it, so we decided a daylight viewing would be good. She was all into it, until the very end. Turns out, she shared her Daddy's fear of the flying monkeys.:rotfl: He was petrified of them as a child, and I tease him merciliessly about it.

Made a pot of chilli, and the whole family did Just Dance for a while. Got some great video of Brad and the girls doing Cotton Eyed Joe!;)

I was very introspective all day, still kinda reeling from all the memories Mom had me relive. Also thought a lot about why Christmas is special. The decor makes the house look pretty, sure. (if you can get past the clutter). The kids are super excited, which makes me happy. I also get excited (and nervous) hoping they like their gifts. I think a lot of it for us is that we have extended time off work, so that stress is gone and we just enjoy each other's company. I said something to the effect of "wish I could get these still frames out of my mind" (Daddy's last words, holding his hand while he coded, the dr. coming in, breaking down in the hospital hallway and refusing to leave...etc) that just horrify me. This song by Green Day came to my mind:

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while

Today's challenge will be to hang them on a shelf!

Today would have been Mom and Daddy's 54 wedding anniversary. I'm still kicking myself that we didn't do a big 50th for them, but that was in that same "bedrest due to high bp" time frame right before Sophie was born. Send some PPD her way today, she was not in a good place last night when I talked to her.

Got really upset yesterday when I found out our plans for today, but there is NOTHING I can do about it, and no one's fault. SIL has to work until 6pm tonight, and it will take them 2 hours to get to MIL, if they are ready to leave when she gets off. Which means we won't eat dinner tonight until 8pm at the EARLIEST! Then the clean up, and then the present opening, we will be LUCKY to get home by midnight. BUT we're expected to be there "right after lunch". :confused3 Since dinner is going to be so late, hoping I can convince DH we need a LATE lunch. ;) Which means my kids will drive me CRAZY all day today at MIL and FIL wanting to open their gifts, and asking "how much longer" until their aunt and uncle arrive. Sophie will be a MESS by the time we leave, total meltdown in my future, no way I can get her to nap today. I guess we'll put out the reindeer food she made in preschool before we leave at lunchtime,, b/c I am praying she falls asleep on the way tonight! Which will translate to her not waking up until 10 or so Christmas Day... and then exhausted and ill all day tomorrow...... Tis' the season to be jolly, right?

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer on Christmas Eve. I had to get that all out there, and hope it helps me move on with day and roll with the punches.

MERRY CHRISTMAS DEAR FRIENDS! (AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS) Love you all! :grouphug:
Taryn

Hello and Merry Christmas Eve:yay:

December 24th Friday's QOTD

Mine would be an iphone. My phone is so old and I could really use something to get up to date with technology.

SHUT UP!! Not only are we posting at the same time, I've been drooling over a Droid. I love my itouch and would love an iphone, but AT&T coverage here stinks! My phone screen is white if it's opened all the way, I need one desperately. :rotfl: But, don't want to pay for a data package right now, so it's my old phone for a while. Either that, or a 2011 Honda Odyssey!:rotfl:

Send some PPD her way today, she was not in a good place last night when I talked to her.

:wizard:I hope she is doing better this morning.

I hate when plans dont work out like you want them too. I have just come to realize that every christmas is going to end in meltdowns. Just way to much over stimulation for the kids. I hope it all works out ok and that you can enjoy your time today.

We were up bright and early today at 615am:eek: My boys are so darn excited. I cant wait to see what time we will be up tomorrow. I got about half of my wrapping done last night. I guess I will do the rest while the boys hopefully nap today. I have a few things to make for our dinner tomorrow too. Otherwise I am going to just relax.:lmao: I have to get a 45 min run in today too. Church is tonight at 7pm so I guess I better start working so everything gets done.

Have a great day everyone...I will be back on later to check in.

Good morning and a very happy Christmas eve to all!! :santa:

Lisa- Are you sleeping in today? It's 4:20 at your house and you haven't posted the challenge song of the day yet. ;) This means I'll have to pop back on later to sing it.

Lindsay- Is your office closed today except for emergencies? With christmas on saturday, we are closed today, and thrilled. fun qotd.

I asked michael the qotd and he couldn't think of anything. Phew. I think I will go with a new couch, since I'm sitting on my 19 yo lumpy couch right now. We have a recliner and a half that we always sit on, so the new couch never becomes a big priority.

Taryn a late lunch at your house sounds like a very good thing. That' a long afternoon, especially for little sophie so spend at the grandparents. :hug:Hugs on all the memories, and plenty of pixie dust to put them on the shelf, and keep the wonderful memories in your heart. Pixie dust to your mom today. It's so hard. I remember my mom was always so sad on her anniversary after my dad died, and this past april I thought wow, this is the first year they are together again in 15 years. I think of my dad a lot today. His parents died in 1968, I was 4, so I don't remember it, but his mom died on Christmas eve of a heart attack, and his dad who had been sick with lung disease died the next day on Christmas. Until I lost him, I never knew how hard it must have been for him. What I do remember which I'm sure were bittersweet for him, especially in the early years was every saturday before Christmas we had a family mass with all the cousins and aunts and uncles for my grandparents, and we lived in in the house they grew up in, so we'd come back home for coffee and donuts after the mass. So, in time, I guess a very sad time turned into a very happy celebration every year, seeing the family, watching the kids grow up. We stopped it a few years ago, but I have some great pictures of michael with my dads siblings when he was 2 weeks old. I'm rambling, crying a little. I'll stop now. Life is good, and life goes on, and we must treasure all those special times now. Hang in there taryn. Hope you make lots of wonderful memories today with those girls. Bring some fun games that they can play with mil and fil. We love apples to apples. Take some time to yourself too.

Hi dona! My brother called last night to see what he could bring and he's bringing the bread. Yay, now I don't have to go out today. Have a great holiday.

Tauwillow- what beautiful traditions you have for the winter solstice. It must be nice to celebrate earlier in the week without all the craziness you can have on christmas.

Zoesmama- Great to see you again. I hope something comes along soon for you in the job front. Enjoy your holiday with you beautiful little girl.

Shawn- Have a nice visit with your friends. I would guess your gifts are very nice and thoughtful, and you do not need to go back to any stores today. on the sister tif. Nothing like a sister to get some feathers ruffled. I love my sisters, but my younger one can do that. I'm thinking since my mom had no sisters, maybe as we grew up, that's why she's fight with us because she didn't have her own sisters to fight with.:rotfl: I do remember Dark Shadows, but was also very young like you.;)

I'm off to the kitchen now. We had a fun cub scout party lastnight, but michael's behavior was not the best. There is this one boy who can change the whole atmosphere of the group, and he was here, so that's part of it. they had fun though, but I was happy when it was over. :rotfl2:

Michael just read me this poem, and I thought i'd share it with you.

I must remember...
turkey on thanksgiving,
pudding on christmas,
eggs on easter,
chicken on sunday,
fish on friday,
leftovers on monday.
But ah, me- I'm such a dunce.
I went and ate them all at once.

Don't be a dunce this holiday!! Have a great day!!

On this day of the holiday challenge my true love gave to me . . . twelve losers losing, eleven maintainers maintaining, ten minutes of leaping, nine moves of dancing, eight minutes relaxing, seven laps of swimming, six days of journaling, FIVE HAPPY WISH'ERS! Four motivating words, three sets of ten, two exercise gloves and a big glass of water for me! :santa:

I'll be back with replies! :goodvibes

Ah, my morning is complete. Now I can go cook!

Have a great day!!

Good morning all! :santa: A very, Merry Christmas Eve to us all!

Thanks for your comments on my 12 days of Christmas WISH style! :flower3: I wasn't sure if anyone was enjoying it or if you were all counting down the days until it was over! :rotfl:

Lindsay, sorry for your busy day yesterday. Hope that you can relax (well, as much as you can ;)) today and enjoy those boys!

Popped into Belk after the eye Dr and got 2 pr jeans and 3 sweaters for $115. I've basically gone from XL to L on top and 18 to (tight) 16 on bottom. I need to lose 5-10 more pounds before I would wear these new jeans so I am being optimistic!!!

:woohoo: on new, smaller clothes, Shawn!

but that is 7 pounds in 3 weeks. I haven't done that well in a really long time, so I am feeling like the new plan is exactly what my body needs in order to lose. I am hoping the holidays won't be too hard since we aren't entertaining much this year.

Lisa - If you still need a coach for Sunday, 12/26, I am happy to help. Just let me know.

:yay: Cam! Seven pounds in three weeks right before Christmas! :santa: That is a great accomplishment!

Thanks for volunteering to coach on Sunday!

Thanks for all of you for volunteering to coach -- the schedule is filled now. :flower3: And don't forget to let your team captain know if you are willing to coach in the spring on the spring challenge.

My DH and I actually had a special Champgane at our wedding. It's the Banfi Rosa Regale that they have in Italy at Epcot and on the Disney Cruise Line. It's a rose colored champagne, but it's sweet like Asti Spumante so we had that special for everyone to toast with.

Sounds yummy! Might have to try and find some for New Year's Eve. I love drinking bellini and pretending I'm at Epcot. Safe travels! :flower3:

Jeanette, love the dresses! I know all the wedding plans will work out perfect and you will have a wonderful day. :bride: Thanks for volunteering to coach but Cam beat you to it.

Kathy, glad that Michael got to feeling better and way to go on the exercise yesterday! :yay:

I did try out our new Walk it Out game for the wii, and have enjoyed it so far. I walked 1.9 miles, but then my toes went numb and I had to stop. I might try wearing shoes next time to see if that helps.

I loved reading about your Yule celebration. It sounds so relaxing and peaceful! :littleangel:

Be careful with the Wii and bare feet. I developed a horrible case of plantar fasciitis from doing that.

Speaking of which, if you forget to type in the "i" in Disboards.com it will lead you to a website for Dark Shadows....anybody else old enough to remember that show? I was VERY young when it aired;)

I do remember Dark Shadows and I know that I am about 7 months older than you, Shawn. Sometimes you can run across some pretty weird stuff when you type a url wrong! :scared1:

Hi! Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.

I'm Melissa I turned 31 in November. I have one daughter, Zoë, and she is 7 going on 17. Her dad and I separated almost 4 years ago so I've been a single mom for several years now. He isn't much help and moved out of state so never sees her. Its a lot of work but well worth it. I am a certified medical assistant desperately looking for work(even if its not in that field) but unemployed currently. I can't wait to catch a break and get back to work.

This will be my 3rd BL challenge. I started in at the end of the prior and continued into the the Fall challenge where I got sidetracked and fell completely off the wagon with stress. DD and I watched all of the last season of BL and we are awaiting the start of the new season. She was rooting for Patrick the whole time so was a thrilled little girl. :goodvibes

:wave2: Hi Melissa! Nice to see you! :flower3: Happy Holidays to you and Zoe, too! :santa:

I have some questions about this challenge. When did it start and who do I message to be put into it? Is it LuvBaloo?

This is just our inbetween holiday challenge that started on 12/17. The spring challenge starts on 1/1 so still lots of time to join. Thanks for stopping by! :santa:

BRB with part 2

I got into a spat last night with one of my sisters. It's left me feeling a little down today. What is Christmas without a little family drama though:rotfl: Have a great day all:goodvibes:

Aww, sisterly love. Gotta love it! Of course, she was totally wrong and you were totally right! :thumbsup2 That is always the case when I fuss with my sister. ;)

Merry Christmas to you too, dona

Got really upset yesterday when I found out our plans for today, but there is NOTHING I can do about it, and no one's fault. Which will translate to her not waking up until 10 or so Christmas Day... and then exhausted and ill all day tomorrow...... Tis' the season to be jolly, right?

A big  and bunch of pixiedust: to you and your Mom, Taryn. It is good to remember your loved ones even when they are no longer with us and we miss them so! :littleangel:

Sorry for your long day. It will be fun and exciting and maybe a bit tearful, too. Someday you can look back on it and laugh, I hope! :flower3:

December 24th Friday's QOTD If you could pick one item (it has to be a material thing) that SANTA would bring you what would it be??? no limits....

A check with a lot of zeroes, please, Santa! :santa:

Lisa-Are you sleeping in today? It's 4:20 at your house and you haven't posted the challenge song of the day yet. ;) This means I'll have to pop back on later to sing it.

Yes, I was slacking and slept in until 4 a.m. :rotfl:

Loved Michael's poem! :cool2:

 for you thinking of your folks today. I'm sure it was hard for your Dad losing his folks so close together at Christmas. But I imagine that you and your sibling provided some comic relief for him, too. ;)

I must have been naughty this year because I almost had a disastrous encounter with the poof fairy!

A very, Merry Christmas to all of you! Enjoy this time together with your families! :santa:

Lindsay- Is your office closed today except for emergencies? With christmas on saturday, we are closed today, and thrilled. fun qotd.

Yes we are closed and have one site open for urgent care issues. Another manager volunteered to work so I am off until the new year.:yay: Our office is still open I just an off. well except for having to go if for a little sunday to approve timecards and on tuesday we are having a luncheon for a dr that is retiring after 49 years in practice. The only way I am ever truly off is when i go away....which is not often. Looking forward to the end of feb.

I loved michaels poem.:rotfl2: and a new couch sounds like a lovely gift. I will send a message to santa for you...;)

:goodvibes

Great job with the song lisa....you are so creative. I love it.

I had gone to the grocery store for a few last minute things and was astonished by how crazy people are today. I got there a minute before it opened and there were 50 plus people waiting in line to get in. It was like black friday only worse.:lmao:

We have santa's cookies baked, dishes done, kitchen cleaned (for the moment until I start cooking again), 3/4 of presents wrapped, and everything we need to prepared tomorrows dinner.

Still to do: cook for tomorrow, finish wrapping, laundry, run, shower, church, santa comes!!!!!

Hopefully my list is shorter when I check back.:rolleyes1

Side note:

Ryan just told me he hopes he's not a nerd someday. I asked him what that means and he said because bullies pick on nerds and give them wedgies.:rotfl2: I honestly do not know where this kid gets these things.:rotfl:

If you could pick one item (it has to be a material thing) that SANTA would bring you what would it be??? no limits....

Mine would be an iphone. My phone is so old and I could really use something to get up to date with technology.

I would like 5 round trip ticket to Orlando for April Vacation. We have annual passes and DVC, but the airfare is absolutely ridiculous.

:wizard:I hope she is doing better this morning. I hate when plans dont work out like you want them too. I have just come to realize that every christmas is going to end in meltdowns. Just way to much over stimulation for the kids. I hope it all works out ok and that you can enjoy your time today.
AMEN! I am hoping.... stilll hoping... they are getting dressed for Nana and Papas, got their Santa hats on, even though I am hoping it will be several more hours before we leave.:rotfl:

:hug:Hugs on all the memories, and plenty of pixie dust to put them on the shelf, and keep the wonderful memories in your heart. Pixie dust to your mom today. It's so hard. Life is good, and life goes on, and we must treasure all those special times now. Hang in there taryn. Hope you make lots of wonderful memories today with those girls. Bring some fun games that they can play with mil and fil.
I am trying so very hard to just cherish now for what it is.... So sad that your Dad had all those memories tied to Chrismas. Loved Michael's poem!

YAY for time off!!!:yay::woohoo: Brad went to Wal-Mart, hope he comes back unscathed... You are knocking stuff off your list, girl, keep at it!

Nice one!!!!:woohoo:

All I am going to say right now is that Mary and Joseph would feel right at home in my house, it looks like barn animals live in it! IT WAS CLEAN BEFORE THE GIRLS GOT UP!!!!!!! I just keep telling myself that one day I'll miss the clutter, one day I'll miss the clutter, one day I'll miss the clutter, one day I'll miss the clutter.............

Merry Christmas, again!
Taryn

Taryn- We're doing podcast 3.0 in June 2012! All 4 of us are going! Can't wait!

Just got back from seeing Tangled!!!! Loved it!!!!! About 30 people total in the theater! We stopped at McD's after the movie as we hadn't eaten lunch.

Just wrapped the last of the gifts and put them under the tree, DH has to wrap mine while we're at church and make the ham for supper. We made his Mom's Christmas pudding this morning. That's a tradition we took over after she passed away. We all stir it once and make a wish too. That's part of the tradition.

Just put on Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol DH got it for me last year. I've always loved this one! Girls want to watch Muppets Christmas Carol tonight after church.

Started off the day with Whoopie Pies that I bought last week to have today. I will need to make the TS cinnamon meltaways later for the girls to have for breakfast. DH and I have quiche to eat.

Heading off to church in about an hour and then I can relax. We'll probably leave right after communion. There's a baptism during the service but hopefully it won't be too long. Last year on the way home from church the girls and I saw 3 reindeer along the side of the road near the church. That was special! Hoping they are there tonight too!!!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night! We need to have the kids worn out or DD1 will never go to sleep. DD2 is easy to get to sleep!:santa:

TTFN :tigger:

I MADE IT!!!

Got through the Christmas shopping season without threatening to murder anyone. :cool1:BUT.....I didn't make it through without yelling at 1 of my co-workers. We can get away with that this time of year:rotfl2:

So now, I'm off till Sunday oh joy. Going to Mass tonight at 6 and then just eating and doing nothing.

QOTD: Would LOVE LOVE LOVE a Kindle for Christmas, but I know I'm not getting 1. We're actually not supposed to be giving gifts to each other this year at all(Between me and DH), but I found a pair of gloves which he needs and they were a great price as well as the last ones in the store. I waffled over a more expensive pair, but decided against them. I got lucky with these.

Everybody have a Merry Christmas:wizard:

What a wonderful tradition to carry on. What is in the pudding?

My boys would die if we saw the reindeer. I hope they are there tonight for your girls.

I MADE IT!!!

 glad its all over for you. I can imagine the days after christmas are a little crazy too. Enjoy the days off while you can and have a very merry christmas.

Ok so the list is getting smaller. Pizza is in the oven, boys are in the tub, church clothes are ready to go, I got my run in and took a shower and my hair is done. I still have to wrap dh's presents which is my next to do after I am done on here.

Addition to our plans tonight....my cousin is having a xmas eve gathering and initially we were not going to go because church doesnt get over until after 8 and we like for the boys to try to get a good nights sleep but we decided we may stop in for a little while....she was practically begging me to so I feel bad saying no.

I hope you all are enjoying your xmas eve. Its been very quiet today....everyone must be busy celebrating.

If I dont get back on later....MERRY CHRISTMAS
