Maslex! :wave2: Have you decided on a wii exercise game to try out? I have 80-ish pounds to send away, don't let your number intimidate you. I really try to focus on the next weigh in and my goal for that week, which is usually 2 pounds (and usually not met :headache:). But that's much more "do-able" for me, 2 pounds versus 80.

You'll get great support on this thread, and if you need ideas or suggestions you'll get those too, just post your question! I hope that helps and welcome!

Please sign me up as a loser. Would like to lose a lot for the Panama cruise.

:welcome:, disneylove69!

Even though I'm not quite sure how this works (never done one before), you can count me in. Kind of scared though. I keep reading how people need to lose 10, 15, maybe 50 pounds. Does anyone need to lose more than 150? Cause that's me. :sad1:

My main "resolution" this year is just to be more active (well, active period) I live a VERY, VERY sedentary life (from my job to my home life). So the main thing that I am going to work on first is to get in some sort of activity everyday (whether it's just a walk, playing an "active" Wii game or SOMETHING) Once I get that as a regular part of my life, then I'll work on my "diet". I'm not cutting out any food, I will watch my portions and severely cut back on butter & salt (those are my two worse enemies---even worse than junk food)

So I will step on that scale on come Friday and send in my weight. But please don't fall off the chair when that number comes through inbox. LOL I think this is what I need (some type of accountability).

Here's to 2010!!!

:welcome:, maslex! Sounds like you have a good plan. There are lots of people who have a lot to lose on our thread so don't worry, we are all in the same boat. :goodvibes It helped me to break up my goals into smaller ones, like 5 pounds, 5%, 10 pounds, 10%, etc. I still have a long way to go myself but thanks to the WISH boards I am starting out 2010 smaller than 2009 and that it the first time in a long time that is the case! :thumbsup2

I think I have the participant list updated now. I will be opening our official "chat" thread later today or tonight and will post a link.

Thanks to everyone who is joining us and good luck to all!

Looks like we have a great group ready to get started. Thanks for the great clippie also.

Trying to get focused this week with more water and more movement.:thumbsup2

please sign me up as a loser....:goodvibes I am sooooo ready to do this!!

I would love to join the challenge as a loser.

Pming my weight

I'm looking forward to being a "loser" :). I am a weight watchers lifetime member who gained 45 pounds during pregnancy in 2004 and am still struggling to lose that weight. I got the Wii Fit Plus for Christmas which I started on already, and I started back on my Weight Watchers yesterday. So I am ready!!:yay:

okay lecach - did she seriously give him bacon??!! :rotfl2: I need more info on that!

Thanks for adding me to the list. I have 100+ to lose so hopefully this challenge will keep me motivated. I really want to lose the weight but I need the accountability. I can't wait for this to start. :cool1:

I'd like to join, but I've never done this posting thing before so I don't know what he meant by "PM" my weight to someone. I'm lost in the "follow the above instructions"! Help!

PM means private message. you can click on the person's screen name and a drop down menu will pop up where you can PM them. They're keeping records of all our pounds so its not posted for the world to see. (I wouldn't start the wii fit until my bf was out of the house b/c it weighs you in front of everyone and he's the ONE person that I don't want seeing my weight :))

Thanks CorrinaK for our lovely clippie! I love it - It's so Springy!!!

I'm in :goodvibes

I lost 50+ lbs back in 2003 and for the most part I have managed to maintain the loss. I never did lose those last 15-20 lbs though. I usually go into the new year needing to lose 10 lbs, but I'm very proud to report that I am going into this new year without weight gain. This is a huge accomplishment for me since I am a big time stress eater and in November we discovered that our 12 year old DS had a brain tumor. It has been successfully removed and he is perfectly well. The fact that I managed not to gain between that and the holidays has motivated me to lose the remaining weight. The fact that we have a 3 week vacation coming up in July (WDW, Epic Cruise and US) adds to my motivation. So count me in, I'm looking forward to the challenge. We also got a Wii for Christmas and have been playing with the Wii Fit. I was disappointed to find that my Wii fit age is 57 when my actual age is 40. Hopefully this challenge will bring my Wii Fit age down too :rotfl2:

MIL is known for giving odd but useful gifts. Last year my DH and I got toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, crock pot liners, Lance crackers, and gift cards to restaurants. This year we got a Panini maker and other miscellaneous odds and ends like a pack of lint wipes, closet organizer, plastic plates (3) with matching coasters (8).

Apparently one time DS said he liked bacon. He was four at the time - he liked corn dogs too :rotfl: MIL is on a budget and had given him money for his college fund and got him one toy. But she wanted him to have more to unwrap. So last year she wrapped up two boxes of cereal and two boxes of Oscar Meyer pre-cooked bacon. :confused3 . Poor kid was so confused. And the thing was, the bacon had an exp. date of January 17. She thought we were going to eat 2 full boxes of bacon in 3 weeks? Most of it got thrown away. Along with the bag of candy corn that he also received. This year he got money for his college fund, a Hess racecar, candy corn, and one box of bacon.

At least most of what she gives IS useful. Better than what we used to get - she'd go out the day after Christmas and get decor on clearance. Then that's what we'd receive the next year. Most of it was truly hideous - the worst was a set of stuffed bears dressed in barbershop outfits. They sang Christmas songs like a barbershop quartet and they are REALLY loud.

Good morning everyone! Its great to see more new Losers :goodvibes

maslex - don't be scared, we're a friendly bunch with a whole range of weight to be lost. Weightloss is a big journey made up of lots of little steps; so don't worry about the destination just start making some little steps :goodvibes.

Please sign me up as a loser. Would like to lose a lot for the Panama cruise.

We did the Panama cruise in 2008 and it was great! And with that many days on the ship we still didn't do everything :lmao:

weights get sent to me (LuvBaloo).
I usually go into the PM section by clicking on "Private Messages" in the the top Right corner of the screen. Then on the left side there will be a menu list, just pick "Send New Message" and from then on its like using email :goodvibes

I'm in :goodvibes

That WiiFit age can drift around. I've been anywhere from 19 to 57 :lmao:

Count me in as a LOSER. I really, really, really need to get my weight down at least 40 lbs. I enjoy exercise, but I also really enjoy EATING. Hopefully, the accountablity aspect of this group will help me step away from the cookie tray.....

I can't wait for this challenge to start... hubby got me a bodybugg for christmas (the things they wear on their arms on the biggest loser to calculate exactly how many calories you burn throughout the day )!!!

To add the clippie, right click on it and select the "copy image location," go into user cp/signature and add it in there and it'll show up!

DH got me a bodybugg too! Are you using it yet? I have a call from a coach on Thursday - I'm excited!!

lecach that's hysterical! There must be a little bit of dread when you open her gifts! But like you said at least most are useful and she's thinking of you all. :goodvibes

I'd like to join the losers team. Do we wait until January 1st to PM our starting weight?
