Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Good morning, Biggest Losers! :goodvibes

Congratulations! We've all made it to the finals in this challenge! :cool1: Maybe you didn't lose as much weight as you wanted or aren't quite where you want to be. Or maybe, you are a maintainer now like our team of maintainers, which more than doubled! :goodvibes Or maybe you are like SarahMay and lost more than 100 pounds! :worship: But wherever you are in your journey to good health, give yourself a big jennz :woohoo: for sticking with it and being ready to finish strong and making it to the final week of our challenge! :cool2:

So ask yourself what are you going to do for yourself to ensure that you finish strong and keep heading for that goal? Are you going to make sure you journal every bite? Maybe get a little extra activity in? You have to do the work but we are here to help you! :goodvibes

Have a great day all!
As you have probably noticed, I started the Summer Challenge thread. Come on over and sign in to let us know you are sticking with us. I will be welcoming people but will steer the chatting this way so we can all enjoy the final days of our spring challenge.

Please be sure and PM those weights to LuvBaloo and COW numbers to donac.

I'm glad to see all the positive comments on the COW for donac. donac will be taking a well deserved break from COW coaching this summer. We welcome jenanderson who will be doing the COW for us this summer and say a BIG, BIG BL thank you to donac for all her hard work helping us to build good habits!:flower3:

I am a samer this week so no return of the 30 pound clippie -- yet! It is a little disappointing but I was really sick with stomach troubles this week. Frankly, I think you should lose some weight when you are too sick to eat or drink but my body thinks otherwise! :rotfl2: I did get back to walking yesterday so things should start moving in the right direction again soon. Anytime I finish a challenge weighing less than I started, I feel like it was a success so I am satisfied with where I am now.

But watch out for me in that summer challenge because I will hit the big 5-0 during the challenge and that is a great motivator. Not to mention meeting my friend 50sjayne next month so I can see her maintainer success in person! :cool1:

I'm up, reluctantly! Some strange alarm went off in our bedroom at 4am. Don't know if it was the BOSE radio or what.

We had the same thing at 12:30 a.m. Seems like it took forever to get that clock shut off. :rotfl2:

Good morning. I'm happy to report that I did the cow all week, and lost weight! Now why can't I just continue to do this until all the weight is gone?:rotfl: I"m 0.4 above my starting weight for this challenge, so I will continue to track and lose get below my starting weight for the final weighin.

I think finishing with a maintain is a great thing, Kathy. You have a rough few months and you didn't gain! :yay: That is cause for celebration in my book. Not to mention you are running and going to run a half marathon in March! :cool1:

friday morning whine...

waking up most mornings with an allergy headache and hotflashes is really crushing my exercise plans. i thought food would be my downfall, not pollen and hormones!

 Sorry about the double whammy!

I am down 3 for the week!!! That makes 47 since January. I am feeling better about life this morning! I am going to try to rock it this week to push for 50 gone this year. And, I have decided to stop waffling and set a goal for the next challenge, instead of all this "well, I'll wait and see how it goes" junk.

That new clippie looks great on you! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see your 50 pound clippie! :yay:

Good morning losers, maintainers and all of us that are still here!!!
This morning's weigh in was my best so far---of course that's cause when I got back earlier this week from 10 days of slacking (and gaining 8.5 lbs in those 10 days :scared1:) I am very happy to say that I've lost 7.5 lbs of that--I worked hard this week and was able to resist non-planned for treats. I'm still up 1 lb from where I was before that period of travel and stress but so very happy to be back almost to where I was.

:woohoo: Down 7.5 pounds! Talk about finishing strong!

Good Morning!!
After weeks and weeks of numbers going the wrong direction on my scale, I had a GREAT number this morning. :cool1:

I know my success is due to many factors, but accountability in this challenge has been a big factor. I also love the pick-me-ups I can get any time I need them by just checking in on the discussion thread. Thank you all.

It has been a crazy few months and I am determined to push hard through this last week of the challenge.

Have a great weekend and be happy.
 and :hippie:

Thank you for being here for us! :flower3:

I weighed in today and I lost 4.6 pounds. I am pretty happy. I have lost 21 pounds and have only a little over 8 pounds to lose before I go on my trip. Its amazing how much these boards help! I have never hit a goal before and I feel I am pretty close to hitting this one. My next goal (after this 30 pounds) will be to lose 20 pounds. I kept thinking today, that if that was my goal this go around, I would have already hit it!

:woohoo: Down 4.6 pounds! Another one of us sprinting to the finish line! :yay:

OK - I know there are several of you that run marathons or halfs... but is anyone a half marathon walker? I am interested in doing this with Kimara... OK - I am planning on doing this with Kimara (she'll most likely jog - so we'll be on the same course--the WDW half in January--on the same day...)
So - if you have walked a half marathon--how did you get ready for it? The training for marathons and halfs that I've found are all for running it - and my old knees just won't do that--plus I'm still WAY over poundage for putting any part of my body through that kind of pressure...
So - any advice from you in this group would be great :) Thanks!!!

Sorry for the late reply to your question but this post from one of the Incredibles team members might interest you. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36329874&postcount=157
She ran with a pacer who did the half in 2 1/2 hours and they did quite a bit of walking.

mikamah and I are doing the Princess half for the first time in 2011 and we are planning on doing a lot of walking and running so we are kind to our bodies while we are having fun! :goodvibes

happysmyly - I did a regular half marathon training schedule, but training with walking and jogging. As long as you get the miles in, you'll be ready whether you are walking or running or both. I decided on intervals before I did the Princess half. I did 3-4 minutes jogging with a 1-2 minute walk, and repeat, over and over... ;) Check out info from John Bingham or Jeff Galloway - both talk about using intervals and walking. If you come over to the Events & Competition section of WISH, you will find some other people who always walk in races.

I forgot to weigh in this morning. I was out of town all week, so I totally forgot that today was Friday. I'll weigh in tomorrow.

Thanks to Dona for leading the COW for us - I have participated more often than I've reported results. ;)

Thank you! I'll check out that post... we were going to do the Princess half as well - but a dear friend of mine is turning 50 in April 2011 and wants to do a full (walking) in SLC for her birthday. So I had to do a half before the dates of the Princess... that would have been fun to see you guys then :) Maybe Princess in 2012 ;)

happysmyly -- John Bingham's Marathoning for Mortals has walking, run/walking and running training plans for half and full marathons. I trained for my first half using the walk plan -- and I finished so it must work! Best of luck, and don't be afraid to ask questions -- the WISH team is the friendliest, most helpful bunch!

Hello Losers.:goodvibes

Ok--for any guys, you might want to skip this paragraph.:goodvibes I am up .8 this week, which given everything that is going on I'm ok with. I was right earlier this week, that TOM was about to make a visit again. That's the third time since April 4. So, I'm on the 20 day plan. Is anyone else dealing with this? I know from looking at my old excel workbooks, that a similar thing happened when I got down to this weight last time, and I eventually put the wieght back on and things went back to normal. I'm sticking it out this time.:thumbsup2 No quitting. If in a couple of months things don't get better, I guess it's back to the doctor. Though honestly, last time her advice was to take the pill, and I know I'm not doing that. Sorry for the book. It's just getting a little old. Between the heart thing and this it's been a long spring. The good news is, I should have a good week this week!:thumbsup2

Took ds to the airport yesterday. He slept the whole way there (90 min.) and was a little cranky. I think he's getting tired of flying so much. I was very sad, and I will miss him like crazy. But I know I need to get my stress under control. We're trying to encourage him to call DH a little more with problems, but so far that's not working. He already called today to tell me he's sick, but he won't go the urgent care.:sad2: Anyhow, during the next challenge, I am planning on doing the 8 minute meditation everyday, so I'm hoping that will help with my worry. I'm also re-reading the Four Agreements.

Congratulations to all the Losers! Welcome back Buffy! And welcome to all the new folks. This is an amazing group of people. You've found a great place to work on your healthy selves!

QOTD: Congratulations! You've just won a trip to WDW...one week, all expenses paid...you choose your resort! This is a dream trip, kids are excused from school and work is covered. When would you go and where would stay? (Sorry, the Castle Suite is not included. ;) )

This is an interesting question. Since we bought DVC I've been spoiled with 3 week trips. One week is far to short and makes everything commando. That being said we would choose CL at The Beach Club. We've never stayed there as it is too many points for a long trip, but we love Beaches and Cream and everything we've read about the pool is awesome. It is walking distance to Epcot and HS as well as the ESPN club. Of course we'd have to book a bunch of tours that we've never taken. Like on of those private tours of each park :snooty:

I'll weigh in tomorrow. I'm sure I'm up altough I have been pretty good. I've had a ton of stress at work and I think my body stores everything during stressful times. I'd like to say I can relax, but tonight I'm attending my son's Lacrosse game then rushing to work. Tomorrow I have a school event for DS3 in the morning, running errands then off to work again. Sunday I will rest and hopefully decompress from this week.

I am planning my dream stay when I retire. I want at least 2 nights at BLT with a MK view. Dh is planning to stay for 2 weeks when we go for our retirement.

For those who picked the AKL. For our 30th wedding anniversary my dsis and her dh gave us 1 night at the AKL before they had opened the DVC part. When we got to our room this is the view we had out our window.

Thanks for all the nice things you said about the COW. I have enjoyed doing it but I think I need a break. My brain will be thinking all summer about how to up date my calc class and learning a new curriculum for a class that I have not taught in a long time. I am hoping to be refreshed at the end of the summer and maybe come back to it. I know jenanderson will do a great job with it this summer.

It has been a really crazy couple of days but I say that at lot as the end of the school year approaches. It seems like the days pass faster and faster lately but it is good because I am ready to start shutting down this school year. I am already lining up all the students I will tutor in the summer.

On a good note...lost 2 pounds this week and I feel really good about finishing strong. I am a bit worried though because we are on our way to the cabin tonight and being at the cabin usually means drinking and snacking. I am really going to focus on how to make better choices - how to enjoy the cabin season while not gaining my weight back. I know the running will help but I am going to have to make many changes. Still, really looking forward to going up north and enjoying a beautiful weekend at the lake.

Dona - The COW was an incredible help...especially as I started this challenge. It made me develop some wonderful habits and brought me a lot of success. I know I did not always send in my information, especially these past weeks, but I always watched for the COW and focused on doing every one of them. You were a huge part of why I lost all the weight I did. I will admit that I am a bit nervous to follow in your shoes...feel free to share any words of wisdom or advice with me! :thumbsup2 Thank you again for all the time and dedication you showed to all us losers!

Have a great weekend everyone as I will not have access to the internet at the cabin!

Jen

I never answered the QOTD. I would take concierge/club level at the Contemporary during Food and Wine. This way we could walk to the MK and take the monorail to EPCOT. We were at Food and Wine last year for the first time and are really looking forward to going back. Still haven't decided about the 1/2 marathon yet. I'm going to see how the long run goes tomorrow. We're supposed to go 4.8-5.0.

happysmyly--I think it's awesome that you are going to train to walk the half marathon. I understand about being nervous about venturing over to the events board. Though everyone seems sooo nice and supportive. I guess for me it's a mind block--I am just starting to feel like I'm an athlete. And that what I do is not just goofing around. Does that make sense? It doesn't help that a few years ago we had a neighbor who insisted that what I was doing was "jogging and not running" because I wasn't going fast enough. Like jogging was for weak people. I really need to work on not worrying about what other people think!:goodvibes I hope you find a program that works for you!

Have a great evening! I raked the grass tonight as DH cut it--bonus exercise!!!:cool1: I am finally hungry today, so time for dinner!

Afternoon everyone!

I'm down 1.5 this week which I will happily take. I was on a 3 week plateau. Yuk... hated it.

Ran my 5k this afternoon. It felt great to run again. It was nice to feel the sun on my back as I ran.

Not much going on here. My DS-5 has a high fever so we're kind of walking around the house trying to figure out what to do with him. He's never sick. Hmmmm....

I'd choose concierge level at the Yacht Club. We stayed there on our honeymoon and have not been back since. And we've NEVEr stayed at a concierge level. :lmao:

Donac - thank you soo much for maintaining the COW! I tried to do it every week but always seemed to forget to send in my results. So I waas a COW lurker. LOL. It really, really helped make me aware of the good habits that I need to continue to be successful at my weight loss.

I forgot to weigh in this morning so I have to remember that tomorrow. Congrats to everyone who did well this week - and :grouphug:to those who hoped to do better...

Jen - have a great time at the cabin!!!

Rose - :grouphug:

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend!:goodvibes

I forgot to mention when I would want to go. It would be between Thanksgiving and Christmas. That way it wouldn't be super busy, but we'd get the holiday decorations, shows and experience.

I think that would be a fun time to go too, no crowds but all the decorations, plus cooler temps. :thumbsup2 I'm also stealing the plan of moving the Flower and Garden show to that time, and toss in a Star Wars weekend while I'm there.:goodvibes I would love to go to the Last Tour to Endor party but that's not going to happen.

Okay my friends...I was shopping with dd,12, yesterday and I've come to the realization she needs to lose some weight. I would say 10 pounds or so. For me that's not a lot but on her it's about 10%. I really don't want to "put her on a diet" know what I mean? I do think I need to find out what she's eating though. I think this is more on me than her right now (because she's 12 and not b/c of mom guilt but if you think I'm wrong tell me!). She's great a making good choices, loves strawberries, cottage cheese, brocolli, green beans, etc....I think I need to have them prepared for her to eat. She also loves cheese. Every morning for breakfast she has 2 eggos...I put spray butter on them w/ a little powder sugar. DH has started putting nutella on it and then powder sugar...hmmmm...anyway I kind of don't know which way to turn on this and really need some help! Any ideas on how many calories a kid her age should eat? Also I've never given her the fat free stuff, just didn't feel it was good for a growing body, what do you think? I want to stop this now, she's there with the healthy eating if I can help her out with it. Also add another day or two of exercise. She's always asking me to go for a bike ride with her and loved the c25k (until I quit lol). Thanks!

QOTD: Walking at the world...is anyone here their family fast pass runner? I am for ours! Today we're visiting the Magic Kingdom - woo hoo!! Where are you going first? What's your game plan? Now...estimate how many miles you walked...it's 1/2 mile from the entrance to Space Mountain, Big Thunder, or Toontown, so figure 1/4 mile from the hub to the land. They say people average 10 miles/day on a Disney vacation...has anyone worn a pedometer? I'm going to wear mine next time.

I answered this question before it was asked! I must have ESP! I posted the miles we (DS and I) walked this past weekend in my last post.

Pamela- Welcome back. Your trip sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing the details. It is making me excited for mine in august. I think you did awesome with the food. I hope you thoroughly enjoyed that mickey bar. They are one of my favorites. One january trip, it was so cold, but I got one anyway, and I just didn't enjoy it because it didn't get all soft and melty like in the heat. One pound per weekend is nothing, and sounds like you're right back in the swing, and it will be gone in no time. We did MK night emh one trip, and it was so fun, and we practically had the park to ourself. Michael was 7 and so thrilled to still be out til 2am. Of course we spent the day at the hotel, and didn't go out til 5pm.

Michael has a friend over and they're playing the wii, so I have some bonus computer time. Have a nice evening.

Yup... it was delicious and it definitely got soft and melty in the 90+ degree heat! Lucas thought it was a HOOT to be getting off Splash Mountain at 1 am!

Thank you Jennz for coaching last week, and welcome Pjlla as this weeks coach.

Have a great day.:)

.
Don't welcome me yet.... I'm not off to a very good start!

I would say start making some healthy "swaps". Swap out the regular Eggo waffles for the lowfat Nutri-grain. If you want to give her Nutella, just watch the portions carefully.... that stuff is unbelievably calorie dense. And definitely SKIP the powdered sugar! Nutella is supersweet and eliminating white sugar from your child's diet is a step in the right direction.

Start buying lower fat cheeses and limiting portions on that also.... again it is a very calorie dense food.

Keep the healthy stuff she likes handy and available and limit the sweets to once a day (like a dessert after dinner). If you don't have the time to exercise with her, enroll her in a sport or club that will keep her moving at least three times per week. Swim, tennis, soccer, jumprope, martial arts are all popular with that age group. HTH.

GOOD SATURDAY MORNING! I am your (very late) coach for this last week of the BL Spring Challenge! Sorry I didn't get over here yesterday. Life got in the way.

Thanks to everyone for your welcome back messages. Like I said, DS and I had a terrific time at WDW. We finally got a peek at the pictures (ours and the Photopass) about 10pm last night. I got some great ones. Only got 68 Photopass pictures... I wanted a few more to make the $99 worthwhile, but the ones we got are good... and it is nice to have pictures of us together.... tough to do when it is just us traveling. I think that Disney is definitely missing out on some Photopass opportunities. I think there should be a Photopass photographer at every character meet and greet and there wasn't. I also searched and searched for them in some parks... especially Epcot.

Well, at yesterday's weigh-in I had lost a bit of the one pound I gained in Disney... not bad considering "Aunt Flo" arrived for a visit right after I returned home. I splurged a bit yesterday (one huge square from a local bakery), but am saving the rest of my Flex points for this week for our wedding anniversary on Tuesday. Hopefully we can go out for a nice dinner, even if it is a work/school night.

Yesterday's QOTD has become TODAY'S QOTD, since I never made it here yesterday!

After watching this week's BL on tv and seeing the Season 3 winner, Erik Chopin (who gained his weight back, in case you didn't see it), I am compelled to ask this question...

What are the warning signs for you that you are maybe starting to lose your way on this lifelong journey? Is is eating more? Not journaling your food? Skipping workouts? And the more important part of this.... HOW DO YOU GET BACK ON TRACK?

For myself, I think it is those little things.... like shortening my workouts (5 minutes dropped here and there) and just a few little nibbles that I don't really count (like that last handful of pretzels at night, or a few bites of ice cream as I am scooping it for the others). When I have a bad weigh-in during a week that actually looks good on paper, I have to think back to what I might have done but not really journaled. The workout that is 30 minutes, but not intense enough... the peanut butter that I didn't really measure. With just a few pounds to go to get to goal, I am discovering that every little nibble really counts.

To get back on track... I usually have to give myself the rest of the day "off" sort of and start fresh the VERY NEXT MORNING (no waiting until "next Monday" or whatever). Tracking and journaling EVERY NIBBLE is super important to my success. And I make sure my workouts make me SWEAT!! I feel like 30 minutes of intensity is probably better than 45 minutes of "barely heart pumping". And a trip to the grocery store to stock up on my favorite healthy foods is also helpful! And sometimes I look back at my old food journals to see what I was eating during a particularly good week.

Well, DD has a swim meet at Harvard today. She has a 400 mtr swim at about 1:30 and then the rest of the meet doesn't start up until about 4 pm. Hopefully she can get dressed and we will do some walking in Harvard Square. She isn't due to be finished until about 9:30 tonight...:headache: Not looking forward to such a late night, but at least it isn't a Sunday night. I'm going to try to get in at least 30 minutes of exercise before we go and then will add extra walking later in the day. I am also packing lunch and dinner to take with me... Swim meet food is kind of like ballpark food... not good!

Gotta fly!................P

I am down 3 for the week!!! :cool1: That makes 47 since January. I am feeling better about life this morning! I am going to try to rock it this week to push for 50 gone this year. And, I have decided to stop waffling and set a goal for the next challenge, instead of all this "well, I'll wait and see how it goes" junk.
Wow, you are rocking it, Taryn!! That's 10 pounds a month!! You are amazing!!

Anyway - hope that everyone has a great last week - and that this week's weigh in is peaceful and a motivator for you!! Let's finish strong - reach for those goals instead of the donuts ;) Have a magically disney day!!
:) Liz
Amen to this!! We have such a strong group here still, this last week can be awesome!!

Good Morning!!
After weeks and weeks of numbers going the wrong direction on my scale, I had a GREAT number this morning. :cool1:
Congrats!! It's always nice to see those numbers turn around.

Well I feel a bloated pig today!!!! I am up 2 pounds and feel horrible...like a Midol commercial! That's about all I have to say...;)
:rotfl::hug::rotfl::hug:

As you have probably noticed, I started the Summer Challenge thread. Come on over and sign in to let us know you are sticking with us. I will be welcoming people but will steer the chatting this way so we can all enjoy the final days of our spring challenge.

:cool1:
Sorry you didn't see a loss this week, frustrating after not eating for a few days, but I'd bet it's just some fluid, and next week you'll end with a big loss. I'll be looking out for you during the summer challenge. I'm planning to rock it too!! Thank you, Lisa for all your hard work and time organizing these challenges and keeping them going.

I'm new to the running world, and started the couch to 5k in feb, but over the past couple weeks, have decided that a combo of running and walking is better for me and my body. I also felt intimidated by the events board, but bit the bullet and joined a team, and I'm so glad I did. Everyone I've met there are so supportive, whether you're running or walking, they support every effort to move more, and be healthier. Wishers are the best. I'm reading the John Bingham- marathoning for mortals, and it's a great book. I think I'm going to try his run/walk half marathon training plan. I found with the c25k it was nice to have a set plan, easier to stick with than saying I'll run/walk 3 days a week, and hit thursday without doing anything. Good luck with your training.

 It must be so hard to be so far away from your son. Hang in there.

Thank you dona for all the time and effort you put into the cow. It really has helped me like so many others have said, and every friday, I write it on a postit, and start checking off the days, but by the next friday, I may not have finished, and so many times I forgot to pm you, but it has made a big difference for me too. Thank you.

Thank you to JenA for taking over the cow for the summer challenge.

Not much going on here. My DS-5 has a high fever so we're kind of walking around the house trying to figure out what to do with him. He's never sick. Hmmmm....
Hope your son is feeling better soon.

Thanks!
It sounds like you have a good plan to have the healthy snacks available and to try and get out and exercise more with her too. Michael had put on too much weight this past year when we went for his physical in january, and my thought was not for him to lose wieght, but to maintain as he tends to get a little chubby and then grow a few inches. I totally felt it was on me, and I've done much better having healthy snacks around, limiting McDs to once a month, and keeping him away from soda/juices too. Like you said, she wants to get out and move, and if you follow her lead, you'll both benefit. I would google to find out calorie needs of kids, and you could probably get an idea. On the fat free stuff, I buy the light cheese sticks, light babybel, and skim milk. Occassionally he'll have splenda, but I try to stay away from the artificial sweeteners. I don't like the fat free stuff that has the olestra/fat substitutes. Michael would pick fresh fruit almost anytime over the junk that I would pick. I'd hate to see him fight with his weight like i have, and I think he has a much bigger awereness of healthy living than i did growing up. You're doing a great job with her, jenn, and being aware will help.

Have a nice weekend.:)

What are the warning signs for you that you are maybe starting to lose your way on this lifelong journey? Is is eating more? Not journaling your food? Skipping workouts? And the more important part of this.... HOW DO YOU GET BACK ON TRACK?

We called ourselves the photopass stalkers last summer. We would stop at everyone we saw, everyday, and ask all of them for magic shots. It was funny!

QOTD: I am like you, the little things add up, the bite I take of the girls' stuff, but mostly underestimating the calories in food! We were looking for somewhere to take DD to after her state championships tomorrow, and I was comparing calories of what my favs at Outback and Olive Garden are :scared:
It's like 2 or 3 times what I usually eat in a day!!!!!

Wow, you are rocking it, Taryn!! That's 10 pounds a month!! You are amazing!!
 Thank you! You are pretty amazing yourself!

I discovered 2 things this morning I wanted to share.
#1. Jillian's No more Trouble Zones DVD. OMGeee! I've had it for a month or so, decided to bust it out for the first time this morning. I really need to ramp up my toning schedule, and this DVD will do it. I totally did NONE of the leg work, as I will be spending 10 of the next 36 hours riding to the meet and can't handle soreness. The arms kicked butt!! Honestly, my abs aren't as fired right now as I had hoped. I may still do my perfect abs 8 minute workout in a bit. It has several circuits, I did all the arms, chest, abs, core ones. Mega sweating! Amazon has it for less than $10.

#2. I'm a wannabe hippie:hippie: and have Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap that I use to clean with, soak my feet in occasionally, etc. I read to use it for bathing ALMOST everywhere. ;) I used some this morning on my face and next after that workout, and totally cooled my off, my face feels soft and clean! :thumbsup2

Well, I have to get off here. I have 5 hours to help DD study, clean the house, pack for the meet, and get out of here! Hoping for some pixie dust at state tomorrow!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND! :lovestruc ya', YOU LOSERS!

That peppermint soap sounds good I'll have to try some!

Thanks for the suggestions on dd...you know, I used to get her the nutrigrain eggos & low fat cheeses and then started shopping at Sam's and they don't have them (they are starting to carry some 2% cheese finally!) and I stopped, saving money right? :confused3 I'll go to Wal-Mart instead and spend a little extra, she's worth it. ;) And she still prefers the healthier stuff. She's not a soda drinker so I actually don't have much of a battle I just need to get organized! I don't want to limit her calories (as in cut them back to 1200 or something) b/c I know she's growing and will chub up and then slim down again. She gets a lot of exercise at cheer, 3 days/week for 2 hours, so in my mind that was "enough" even though she wanted to do more I didn't want her to tire herself out blah blah. Now I see the light! It is so helpful to see your answers - thank you thank you!

I meant to add I was thinking " a little won't matter, she's a kid and she's active" well it sure adds up regardless of if you're a kid or not!! Plus I would give here what I wanted...hmmm...little eye-opening for Mom here! ;)

QOTD: Congratulations! You've just won a trip to WDW...one week, all expenses paid...you choose your resort! This is a dream trip, kids are excused from school and work is covered. When would you go and where would stay? (Sorry, the Castle Suite is not included. )

Well, this is quite a piece of luck! :lmao: Like a PP, I'm going between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's warm enough to be comfortable and enjoy the pools and water parks, but not sweltering. Plus, I get to enjoy all the festive decorations :lovestruc I think we'd start our stay at the Beach Club. We've stayed there before and we were very happy. The pool area is amazing, and I love the quick trip to Epcot and HS, plus it's an easy walk to mini golf. I'm going to do a split stay, since I also really want to stay at a monorail resort. I think I'd like to try the Grand Floridian, and as long as I'm staying there I would definitely do afternoon tea and a special dinner at Victoria and Albert's. But those would be splurges, I'd like to think I'd be eating fruit for snacks and dessert ;)

What are the warning signs for you that you are maybe starting to lose your way on this lifelong journey? Is is eating more? Not journaling your food? Skipping workouts? And the more important part of this.... HOW DO YOU GET BACK ON TRACK?

Oh, I've been seeing them all week -- skipping workouts, eating things I shouldn't because I'm out, not journaling a darn thing...now for the getting back on track part -- I have given myself a fresh start today, with a goal of losing 7 lbs before my birthday in June. Ambitious, but doable if I work hard. This week I'm giving myself daily mini-rewards for working out 90 minutes and eating within my points. I've never done it before, but I am totally motivated. I need to lose 3.6 lbs to make my goal for this Challenge, and it's completely because I dilly dallied around in April and May. So, that will be tough for me, but I am going to give it my best shot. Tomorrow's reward is a facial and mani/pedi. I'm giving it to myself, but taking the time to do it is definitely the reward. I ran 9M in 101 minutes this morning to kick things off, and I had yogurt and cantaloupe for breakfast. I'm throwing out the leftover Chinese food from last night (yep, I think I'm probably a bit up from that so I may actually have about 3 lbs to lose), and I'll have hummus and veggies for lunch. I'll round things out with a nice salad for dinner, and when I finish here I'm headed over to WW online to record my food and exercise. Another thing -- I notice I stop posting when I stop doing what I should! I'm going to be annoying this week as I keep track of every little thing and give you TMI -- fair warning! :rotfl2:
