Saturdays are my day to sleep in. I'm fighting a cough/cold so I have a feeling that I'll be getting a lot of sleep tonight. I'm going to go ahead and post tomorrow's QOTD now.
Sat. 4/17 QOTD: What is one exercise/sport, etc. you have always wanted to try and/or wish you fit more into your schedule?
First of all... feel better! Spring colds are icky.
QOTD: Well... I have been thinking about this lately. I am getting bored with my exercise routine and was thinking that if I got involved in a sport that I might have more fun. I was thinking about tennis. I haven't ever "really" played, but I took lessons as a kid. It just seems like fun exercise. But it is very pricey at our Y. DS took a few sessions of lessons this past fall/winter and I might look into renting court time over the summer while DD is swimming and DS and I could play together. Plus there is a free outdoor court here in our town that DS and I could try once in a while.
Please send PD to ds1 tomorrow. He is running in his first half marathon. I will not go see him but his gf will be there. I never thought he would even be running. Ds2 was the runner in family and is built more like a runner than ds1. But he has trained and we know even if he can't run it all he can walk parts of it. A few weeks ago he went out for a long run and planned to do 12 miles. He got to mile 6 and fell and then had to walk back so we know he can do 12 miles.
Best of luck to DS! You must be so proud. I hope he has recovered from his fall. I'll look forward to hearing how he does.
pjilla - SNOW? FREEZING RAIN? YUK! It has been really warm here lately.
Hang in there. Those 7 pounds have been with you for a long time, they like it there. Maybe you need to punish them so they don't want to be around.

Maybe they'll come off while you are in Disney, not worrying about them? I am getting excited for your trip for you. BTW, I can't imagine ever being in the 130s, so that is just flat awesome to me!
Anyone ever heard of Isagenix? I think it's like a meal replacement/cleansing thing. There is a fast growing group of people here taking it, losing something like 20+ pounds a month. The idea is appealing to me, but I want to lose weight in a manner I can sustain. I don't really want to be chained to buying a product for the rest of my life. It does make me a little jealous to be working so hard, happy to lose half that in a month, and it seems rather effortless for them.
Yup.... I won't give those 7 pounds (actually, as of today it is only 4 pounds) a peek at the map while we are at AK and maybe they will get lost... I know I always do!!

Thanks for saying that the 130's is awesome... that made me smile and feel more encouraged.
About the Isagenix. I am NOT familiar with it, but keep in mind, these folks are NOT learning healthy eating habits... they are using a crutch. It might be good for a jump start, especially for someone significantly overweight, but it is not teaching them healthy eating that can be maintained for a lifetime. You are FAR better off doing what you are doing. Sure, it is frustrating to be slowly losing the weight.... we all want it to come off fast, but EVERY DAY that you are eating OP and keeping up your exercise, you are building HEALTHY HABITS that will last for a LIFETIME!
I am so impressed and inspired! Because of this I am going to go through my freezer and pantry and do the same!
Well I've been junk-fooding it this past week but I think I have a better grip on my issues - emotional of course, how shocking!

What has helped me get a grip on my eating, you might ask? Well I decided to do some "before" pictures

I saw my rear!!! And actually saw 15 pounds less of it. I think I'm going zoom in on that thing and blow it up (not that it needs it lol) and when I reach for something more than I need look at it...either that or use it as a dart board.
Glad I could inspire you! I go through spurts where I am SO good about planning meals and then I fall away from the habit for a while. But it makes life SO MUCH EASIER when I keep up the schedule. In addition to just writing down the meals, I make notes on each day about what to take out to defrost for another day, about prepping extra veggies for an upcoming meal, and stuff like that. For example, while waiting for dinner to cook last night, DD and I peeled and chopped a few pounds of apples for homemade applesauce that is planned for two meals in the next few weeks. I put the apples in the crockpot and cooked them overnight. This morning they were about ready to go. I divided them into containers (one for the fridge, one for the freezer) and they are ready for the planned night!
Since I have extra time today (rare for me), I am cooking and prepping the hamburger for 4 upcoming meals (we eat a lot of hamburg as DS is allergic to chicken and DD won't eat fish). I will cook it and prepare it for the various meals (hamburg soup, sloppy joes, tacos, and meatballs). Then it will be frozen and ready to grab when needed.
Tomorrow night while prepping the vegetables and fruit for my curried chicken, I will also prep the veggies for Monday night's pasta salad.
I'm not always this organized, but I am so much happier with myself when I am!
Sat. 4/17 QOTD: What is one exercise/sport, etc. you have always wanted to try and/or wish you fit more into your schedule?
I really wish I could fit Bicycling into my schedule more often. I ♥ it, but it is harder to do with small kids. We had a pull-behind bike trailer, but the dog ate it. I had a stationary bike, but that SO doesn't do it for me. I love being out in nature, feeling the wind, seeing birds and other animals and actually going some where. Maybe I'll go tune up that rusty-dusty bike today it start a new habit...
DD and I got a chuckle from the mental image of your dog eating a trailer!

How did he do this??
Happy cold rainy Saturday everyone! I hope everyone else is having better weather. It is cold and raw and miserable outside, but I did a full hour walk with ankle weights, weight belt, and wrist weights this morning. I am enjoying an audiobook, so that is helpful with the boredom. My walking friend apparently has a foot injury and won't be able to do a lot of walking anytime soon. We don't walk together often, but I will miss her.
I had a "do-over" on the scale this morning and the number was SIGNIFICANTLY better. WOOHOO! I KNEW yesterday was from bloating. I pushed my fluids, watched my sodium, and had a few visits from the potty fairy yesterday

scared1: probably TMI... sorry!) and actually registered a loss on the scale this morning. I wish I wouldn't let the number on the scale dictate my mood/mental state so much. Not sure what to do about it.
I made a treat for breakfast for the family, but I stuck with my scrambled egg whites with sauteed pepper and tomato. But I treated myself to two slices of light raisin toast with 1 tsp. of p. butter on top of one slice... so yummy!
I gave my family a piece of my mind last night because I am getting tired of playing the martyr with the healthy eating. They wanted to make cookies last night. Cookie dough is DEFINITELY a trigger food of mine.... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! Can't resist it. And I didn't want the temptation before I was able to do another weigh-in this morning. They were arguing with me (mostly DH and DD) about how come they couldn't just make it and I don't eat any.... HUH!!?? A big sarcastic THANKS for making this even harder than it already is!!!

I was good and truly pissed off. And I let them know this. I told them it was bad enough that they expect me to scoop their ice cream on treat nights, and fill the Easter baskets, and prepare all of the meals, etc and still stick to my healthy eating plan.... but this was adding insult to injury. The cookies didn't get made last night, but I probably won't be able to stop them today. And that is okay..... it is a new week and I have a new batch of Flex points to use. But last night it was just the last straw.... and I told them so as I served them their Fenway Fudge ice cream that I didn't have ANY of!!
Phew.... got that off my shoulders! Thanks.
I need just two or three items from the grocery store today. Not sure if I will head all the way into town and do a few errands, or just head to the local store (20 minutes each way) and get the few things I need. DD has homework, but I know she will want to come along with me if I go out.
I need a few things for my upcoming trip and could stand to make a quick stop at the Goodwill for a drop-off and shop. DS needs a few pairs of shorts for the trip... he is growing like a weed! I also need to find shelf stable white milk boxes so he can have cereal in the hotel room during our trip. I already have the little Cheerios cups and plastic spoons. I will be having my morning hot beverage and instant oatmeal and/or Fiberone bars for breakfast. Not the best choice, but quick, easy, and cheap breakfast in the hotel room is good enough. I'll probably also bring along some applesauce cups for DS and canned peaches/pears for me. I would attempt fresh fruit, but I don't think it would handle the travel very well and we won't have a fridge. It will only be breakfast in the room for 3 days that I really have to think about, so I'm not that concerned.
I have 4 loads of laundry to fold and put away and some vacumming and then I will call the housework done for the day. Sure, it could use more, but I'm not going to worry about it too much. The kids were told that they MUST spend some time cleaning their rooms today. Not sure how much will actually get done.
Any free time today will be spent at the scrapping table. I've got about two weeks left before my scrapping convention comes to town and I need to have plenty of projects ready to work on! I'm getting excited!
To those of you walking/running in the Challenge Obesity 5K today... WOOHOO! Go get 'em! I hope your weather is better than mine! I thought of you all as I did my walk outside today. TTYL........P
