Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Redwalker--:grouphug: I am so sorry.

Pjlla--Hang in there. Thanks for sharing your frustration. It might sound funny, but it really helps to hear that everyone else gets frustrated sometimes, too.

Tigger813--have you tried melatonin? I am not a big pill taker, but sometimes I have bouts of insomnia, and when it gets really bad, I'll take melatonin for a day or so. I am a really light sleeper, and the first time I took it I slept through a thunderstorm!

I have a question for everyone--How did you set your final goal weight? I'm still a ways off, but I'm starting to think about it. I have the weight I was in college, and then I have the weight I was right before I got pregnant with DS, and then again that same weight a couple of other times as an adult. Those weights are 15 pounds apart. I would love to be at the college weight, but I'm not sure that it is realistic.

Hope everyone has a great evening. My eating has not been great, but my weight is holding steady. I have been really hungry. It's hard to balance the big workouts and the eating. I know I need to eat more on those days, but it's hard to actually do it and not feel guilty. Anyhow, have a great evening!

Redwalker-So sorry about your pup. I know what a hard time that is.

princessbride6205-I'm going to give that cookie recipe a try. DD13 loves angel food cake and is always looking for a naughty snack, so those might be a good option!

QOTD: I like to Zumba with my group of Zumba friends, and sometimes my girls go with me too. I've tried to get DH to go, but he prefers to go to his gym by himself. We sometimes take family bike rides in the summer, but we haven't had a good day for it yet.

Finally have a few minutes to check in and so glad I do.

I have to remember to weigh-in tomorrow morning. I woke up so late this morning that I didn't do that today. Yesterday and today I really haven't felt like eating much. Yesterday, I didn't even come close to eating my minimum number of points and if I didn't overcount the gelato I had today, I ate exactly my min. today. My parents are talking about going out for dinner tomorrow night so I'll likely have no trouble dipping into my WPA. I'm exhausted though, so I'm off to bed.

Redwalker-Sorry to hear about the passing of your dog.

Night!

Hey guys! Sorry I have been MIA for awhile. This week has been a little crazy and I haven'thad much time to check in.

I lost 1.4 this week and since its my TOM and I am bloated to the high heavens, I am pretty happy with that. Sometimes being a girl is a pain!

I have a question I hope you guys can help me with. I have started working out and am even trying the C25K, but with nursing a baby, its like getting smacked in the chin with 2 milk jugs everytime I try and do anything. :scared1: Any good suggestions on a decent place to get a plus sized sports bra?

Redwalker, I am so very very sorry about your loss. You will be in my prayers.:grouphug:

Pjlla, I am so sorry you are frustrated! If it makes you feel any better, I would DIE to be your size.

I hope you are all doing well and feeling strong. Have a great Saturday night!

Haven't tried melatonin. I haven't been having trouble getting to sleep at first, the problem is staying asleep or getting back to sleep after being awakened. Took a nap awhile ago and am going to head to bed shortly. Of course I just drank a large glass of water as I was thirsty. So I will probably be up during the night. Hoping DD2 won't have an accident tonight. I really want to feel my best for DD1s first communion tomorrow. Gotta get up early and then we will be spending the afternoon with some friends from church.

DD1 was SOOOO surprised with getting her new camera. We gave it to her today so we could use it tomorrow. Auntie was here to see it as well. Going to do photos and video with it.

Gotta go make some dip to take with us to our friend's tomorrow. Have a great night all!

Angel Food Cookies
1 box Angel Food Cake Mix
1/2 C diet soda
1/4 tsp vanilla or almond extract (optional)
Mix & bake at 350 for 9 minutes

QOTD Saturday: What's your favorite exercise to do with others? Is there an exercise you get the whole family involved in?

Any idea how many weight watchers points the cookies are? I have a mix here so I'm excited to try them.

I like to go skiing with my family. Well I ski and they snowboard. We also like water sports, any kind of water sport

I was about 133-135 when I graduated from college. I had lost a good deal of weight my senior year, so that's my lowest adult weight. I thought that was a little low and not realistic, so I picked 144. I'm now thinking I might want to lose some more weight. I'm never going to be a twig, and I don't want to be one, but 139 isn't twiggy.

Ugh. Had a hell of a day in the classroom. The student I've been concerned about totally blew his top. He would have thrown my easel/whiteboard across the room had I not stood on it. As it was, he did throw three or fair chairs and when I went to restrain him, he bit me. Thankfully he didn't break skin.

The rest of the class had been okay until that point. They did a pretty good job getting out of the room quickly, but it all just kind of went downhill from there.

I did go work out with trainer, and he completely kicked my ***. I told him it's nice having my *** kicked by somebody I'm pay to- as opposed to being kicked by somebody I'm being paid to teach. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I've been so tempted all week to be "sick", but I just can't do that to my kids.
:rotfl2:

:welcome: BACK sskem96 and CptJackSparrowGirl :goodvibes

Sounds like a great trip in the planning, CptJack!

ditto!

That would be exciting. I'm a Twilight fan myself! Good luck and welcome back.

Holy catfish, that sounds crazy. I don't know how I'd deal with that type of situation. I hope he gets the help he needs so you don't have to go through that often.

Welcome back to all of those who have returned. I can't believe we needed another post started. That's great! :cool1: Just means we've had some serious success this "season".

I'm going to leave you with my last QOTD today. I hope everyone enjoyed my questions and look forward to answering those coming up now that I have a tiny bit more time on my hands.

QOTD: What have you done to get your family on board with your new healthy lifestyle? Are they excited to try new things with you or do they grumble about the changes?

My hubby is a grumbler. He is a meat and potatoes kind of guy and calls all veggies, well besides corn I guess, contraband. I would eat mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, you name it on pretty much anything and it grosses him out to no end.

I love raw broccoli and cauliflower and baby carrots but he won't eat them unless cooked and drenched in cheese.

I've cooked with ground turkey and he hates it. I don't think he'd even really know if he didn't see me doing it. One of these days I'll sneak it in and he'll realize it's all in his head.

He won't go on walks, bike rides, nothing, which my girls and I love to do. He'll come out and play basketball or other little games like that with the kids but he's just not into exercise. And he doesn't need it.

So, I'm trying to get my girls on the right path but they see what he eats (and when he eats, he eats all the time) and they think they can do it too.

My younget daughter is tiny. Never eats at home but eats like a lil pig at daycare. She is always on the go. My oldest is starting to get chunky. I need ways to curb it before it's out of hand. I don't want to be mean about it because I don't want her to have an eating disorder or anything but she needs to be aware. What's the best way to go about it? She's active in dance and tumbling and t ball but thinks she needs to eat all the time. The good thing is, she loves fruit and veggies for snacks but that adds up too.

OK, I think I'm done now. ;)

I think be straight with her about the health angle. And be a good example.

I am fried from a loooong day of set painting for Suburb - I didn't even get to paint much - mostly directing others which is so much more tiring in some ways. More of the same tomorrow, as well. I am glad of the help, but I do think I'm more cut out to be a rockin' team member than a team leader. :sad2:

And my quotes are all out of order too. It's that kind of day.
(Oops - started this yesterday - fell asleep early and finished this morning)

First, on setting a goal weight, I definitely struggled with this question as well. It's something that gets easier to decide when you get closer - you can get to the pre-pregnancy weight and then reevaluate and choose a lower number if you want to, or you can decide that it is the perfect blend of feeling good and eating in a way that is sustainable. Think about the times in your life that you felt like your "best self." For instance, I was at my lowest adult weight on my wedding day, but my "best self" weight is actually about 5 pounds higher than that.

I know that I just need to keep on the way I have been. I'm sure that I am building some muscle from my circuit training class, because I am constantly sore somewhere from it. I know I am getting in plenty of cardio because I am getting in anywhere from 30 minutes to 120 minutes each day.

I've been doing WW long enough to know that my eating is okay .... although I suppose I could still not be eating enough.

Pamela, it sounds like you're doing everything right - it just goes to show that we can control what we eat and how much we work out, but we can't control what the scale says on any given week. Sometimes our bodies feel this need to hang out at a particular weight before moving on, I guess? Think about how long it has been since you were lower than the weight you are now - how many years ago was it? When I got to the point that I was losing weight I had had since before my oldest child was born, it seemed to get more challenging for a while. I am not sure if it is possible to have "entrenched fat" but that is sure what it feels like when we get to a certain point!!!

Don't worry about the movie theater splurge, and also, I would advise not thinking of it as using up all your flex points for the week. I always think it is important to have some flex points during the week even if a lot of them (or all of them) got used on the weekend. I've been known to give myself a certain number for the rest of the week even when I've had a large unknown number of them at the start of the week. Cheating? I don't really think so - for me, it's just part of staying normal and sane about food after a blowout and not beating myself up all week long. My rule of thumb is 3-5 flex points per day remaining in the week.

I have read a couple of good WW blogs from people in the same place you are now. I'll post links:

This one is from my WW Online friend Heather. She's been struggling with those last few pounds for a while now:

This one is from a guy who struggled with the last few pounds for months before re-evaluating. Not saying this is THE solution, but it was a good solution for him:

Just talked to Redwalker and her beloved dog Xena passed away this morning. We always called her Xena, Warrior Puppy! She was one special. remarkable, lovable dog!

Oh, this is so sad. It's always painful to lose a member of the family, and a good dog can leave a big hole in your life. Hugs and prayers to the entire Redwalker family. :grouphug:

Corinna - Looks like we might be seeing a bit more of you this spring. We registered for the Challenge Obesity in April (you will be there right?) and this morning I just registered for the Minneapolis Half Marathon on June 6th!

I am a bit freaked out that I actually registered for a 1/2 marathon for THIS June. When I started this whole process, I was fearful that I may not be ready to do the Princess 1/2 NEXT March. So many people are telling us that we can do it (DH runs with me) and I think we might be able to but WOW we are going to have to be diligent with our training. Today we did go out and run (only 5K). We also went and bought new running shoes! Very exciting!

Oooh! Oooh! How fun! There are a few WISH racers planing on doing the Minneapolis Half as well - it will be high times, I tell you! You definitely have time to build your mileage for a race in June - it will be great!

I'm definitely in for the 17th, too, though I still need to register....I am putting it on my list for tomorrow. I may also be doing the Get in Gear the next weekend....though my running has not been exactly ON the past couple of weeks.

Yay soft serve! ;)
Thanks for keeping up with the QOTD Archive. I'm happy to see you over here - I was just thinking about missing you here last night. (Not like I don't see you on Ohana)
I won't add more peer pressure about the Princess 2011, but I will say that I'll be there.

Awww - thanks for missing me! I haven't exactly been around a ton on Ohana either - it's been a crazy couple of weeks. Once the set for Suburb is loaded in next weekend, things will calm down again, a bit. I hope!

Well, thanks for not pressuring, but knowing who will be there next year - it sounds like its going to be quite a party and I hate to miss out! I just have to keep saying...it depends on the school schedules. It depends on the school schedules.

QOTD Saturday: What's your favorite exercise to do with others? Is there an exercise you get the whole family involved in?

I love to go to Spin class with a friend - I have one that I meet on Wednesday mornings. I've done another class with another friend once. I've done classes without friends in them. It's MUCH more fun to be in class when there's someone to roll our eyes at when they say to do the next crazy thing!

I also LOVE to do races with friends - fun to run with someone, fun to run by ourselves and meet up at the end, too. It's really fun when I get to run with someone who has an ambitious time go and I can help get them through the rough times to achieve their goal.

I have a question I hope you guys can help me with. I have started working out and am even trying the C25K, but with nursing a baby, its like getting smacked in the chin with 2 milk jugs everytime I try and do anything. :scared1: Any good suggestions on a decent place to get a plus sized sports bra?

Oh yes, you definitely want some good support if you're going to run while nursing!

It is not perfect, but my personal favorite running bra is the Moving Comfort Fiona. I have found it at Dick's Sporting Goods and at several running stores. They had a bra that fit me when I was larger and they have some that fit me now as well. I'm not sure how plus you need, but these have done a pretty good job for me when I had been previously wearing 2-3 sports bras at once for support. They go up to 44DD:

http://www.movingcomfort.com/product/344592/350003/_/Fiona

Here's a link to some Champion sports bras in plus sizes
http://www.championusa.com/Champion...ategory-Champion/Women_PlusSize-Champion.aspx

Lane Bryant also has a sports bra, though I can't speak to the support or quality of it, they would have it for you to try on, at least, and they go to 46DDD:

http://www.lanebryant.com/lb/bras-b...FEED&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=31367-14230782915

Sorry I'm not more help. I can tell you that I tried the Enell bra at a expo at one of my higher weights as it had received so many raves from Oprah, and with my apple shape, the lack of adjustability anywhere...well, it was not comfortable at all for me. :confused3

Time for breakfast followed by more painting - see you later!

see you later!

Thanks for taking the time during your busy weekend to post those links for me. I took a few minutes to read them and they were helpful. And they are both great writers! It definitely gives me something to think about.

It is a brisk cold Sundary morning here! I'll hit the TM when DH gets up (he is definitely NOT a morning person). I made a healthy breakfast for everyone (yogurt and fruit parfaits for the adults, yogurt/fruit smoothie for DD, and rice milk and tofu smoothie for DS). Hopefully that healthy eating can continue today.

Last night's dinner was Pizza Hut... OH MY GOSH.... it was SO GREASY! I haven't had regular Pizza Hut pizza in years. You could have wrung the grease from the crust like a SPONGE. ICK. Next time it is thin crust for EVERYONE. I usually get myself thin crust, but I was sort of "eating" into my scale frustration yesterday so I figured I'd eat the regular stuff. NOT AGAIN. Thank goodness I started the meal with a big salad to curb my hunger (I was ravenous!). I was sort of thinking the pizza might be 5 points per slice (I know that is the points count for their medium Pizza Mia pizza)... but this had to be way more... it was just so OILY. I should have quit after the first piece and had a Lean Cuisine pizza. Live and learn. At least I didn't compound the problem with regular chips (just a handful of Baked Lay's) and beer (drank a liter of lemon seltzer).

I'm kind of afraid to go check the Pizza Hut website... I counted them for 7.5 points per slice, but I'm afraid it will be closer to 10. I guess not knowing won't change the fat my body absorbed last night, will it??

I hope to get some time at my scrapbook table today. Yesterday ended up being a lost cause. After taking the kids for haircuts and a quick trip to Toys R Us for DS to buy himself something, we hit the mall for a "quick" trip to pay a Victoria's Secret bill and to get some scrapping adhesive. Of course, while there, DD "needed" to check the new fragrances at Bath and Bodyworks... then she needed to buy a gift for the party she is attending today....then she "needed" a new swimsuit because today's party is a pool party. A stop for pizza and a few groceries and we didn't get home until after 7:30 pm! The day was gone. Hopefully today will be more productive!

TTYL.......P

Thanks for taking the time during your busy weekend to post those links for me. I took a few minutes to read them and they were helpful. And they are both great writers! It definitely gives me something to think about.

Not a problem. It's good to think about something else for a while AND I need to keep my head in THIS game as well.

Speaking of crazy weekend dinners, last night, we ordered inThai food so we could keep working later in the evening, and I tried to pick something healthy, but the stir fried vegetables were much oilier than I expected, the rice was white and the tofu - deep fried. Oh man. And I was HUNGRY. But it is in the past, so...moving on. :) I did try to count it up as well, but also think I may have underestimated. As you say, what we track it as doesn't change what it actually was.

Here's to a better Sunday!

I was soooo bad last night. Went to Texas Steakhouse, and ate wayyy too much. I haven't splurged on a meal like that in 3 months, and you know what? I don't care! It was delicious, exactly what I wanted, and I've had my fill for quite some time. After my run, my weight was only up .7 from yesterday. I have given myself permission to not feel bad about that 1 meal.

I believe you have conquered one of the biggest things in weight loss "Permission and Forgiveness". We have to allow ourselves to indulge in the splurges every so often and you have to wake up the next day with total forgiveness. If you don't wake up with forgiveness you may fail at weight loss. This was one of the hardest things for me to do as a weight watcher. But I learned that I have to live my life, and that life will not always be smooth. There will be bumps along the way. I have to get right back to it and let my splurges be in my past.

Oooh! Oooh! How fun! There are a few WISH racers planing on doing the Minneapolis Half as well - it will be high times, I tell you! You definitely have time to build your mileage for a race in June - it will be great!

This will be fun if we are able to meet up with other WISH racers! DH and I are committed to it now. I went online and found their 10 week training plan for the 1/2 marathon and we are going to use that to help us plan our runs and how we should be building our mileage. We have decided that we are fine with a very slow pace - we just want to make it and have fun!

I continue to tell DH that we have to be a bit nicer to ourselves - we are very critical of how we do every time we run. I have to keep reminding us that we started running the 2nd week of January. Here we are, 3 months later saying it is a "bad run" when we do 5K in 33 minutes. While that is not fast, it is a pretty decent pace and we almost always feel like we could keep on going. So, now that we have registered for the 1/2 marathon and have a plan again...I am sure we will be fine (slow...but fine).

okay just popping on here - I made a choice I'm proud of. I was still tired today from dd's sleepover party Friday night! But I did Leslie's 5 mile walk. Now it's off to Sam's...

I have a question for everyone--How did you set your final goal weight? I'm still a ways off, but I'm starting to think about it. I have the weight I was in college, and then I have the weight I was right before I got pregnant with DS, and then again that same weight a couple of other times as an adult. As for setting a goal weight, there are a few ways to think about it. For me, I wanted to get close to the lowest adult weight I could remember. I'm currently lower than that, because I reevaluated my goal when I got there. My body composition is different (less muscle, different wobbly spots) so the weight I felt good at 5 years ago doesn't look as good now. So I picked a number a few pounds less and I'm sticking to that.
Not a weight number, but a goal nonetheless is to fit into a particular pair of pants in my closet.
Another way is to pick a target BMI. Wii Fit told me that studies show people with a BMI of 22 are the healthiest. (I personally don't think BMI is the best/only indicator of health, but it can identify a weight range if you're not sure.)
My sister is aiming for the Devine formula or "ideal body weight", which is 100 pounds for a 5-foot woman and 5 add'l pounds for each inch above that. She is 5'6" - so she's aiming for 130. (100+[5 lb x 6 inches]) This formula is used on a number of weightloss websites, but is probably too low for most people, and really low for short women.

It can be difficult when you start exercising to balance hunger and more calories. Finding a healthy post-workout snack and tracking your points/calories until you get the hang of it can help.

Hey guys! Sorry I have been MIA for awhile. This week has been a little crazy and I haven'thad much time to check in.

I lost 1.4 this week and since its my TOM and I am bloated to the high heavens, I am pretty happy with that. Sometimes being a girl is a pain!

I hope you are all doing well and feeling strong. Have a great Saturday night!
I feel like a relative expert in sports bras. When I was nursing I was an H!
Check out Title Nine and Bare Necessities online for extended sizes. Title Nine has a ton of different sports bras and a rating system for intensity. They even have something called a Last Resort Bra.
If you have REI stores near you, I was surprised to find sizes up to DD.
This one doesn't say it's good for running, but it works great for me: Goddess brand: Soft Cup Sports Bra Style #5056 (I bought from Bare Necessities site)
The Frog Bra - this is great for mashing and holding you in, but I find it gets itchy when sweaty - gets good reviews though. (I bought from Title Nine)
My new favorite for up to DD is the Moving Comfort Maia Sports Bra (I bought at REI). This is what I wore for the Princess Half.

Any idea how many weight watchers points the cookies are? I have a mix here so I'm excited to try them.
Sorry I don't know the points - I haven't done WW. There must be an online points calculator somewhere? :confused3

Last night's dinner was Pizza Hut... OH MY GOSH.... it was SO GREASY! I haven't had regular Pizza Hut pizza in years. You could have wrung the grease from the crust like a SPONGE. ICK. We had Pizza Hut last night too! I'm glad I talked DH into Thin and Crispy. But I did eat a greasy breadstick, so it still wasn't a healthy meal. ;) Did you get pan or hand-tossed? The pan is definitely a grease sponge, like you said.

This will be fun if we are able to meet up with other WISH racers! DH and I are committed to it now. You guys aren't even slow for newbies! I think you're faster than I am at a 5k. :thumbsup2 I'm excited that you guys are signed up for the Mpls half in June. I need to get back to regular training - it's been a few weeks and I actually miss it.

okay just popping on here - I made a choice I'm proud of. I was still tired today from dd's sleepover party Friday night! But I did Leslie's 5 mile walk. Now it's off to Sam's...
Good work! It's great that you talked yourself into exercise even though you were tired.

Sunday QOTD: This question is 2 parts and you can answer one or both. What is your favorite healthy food at WDW or DL? What is your favorite healthy food when dining out?

We had Pizza Hut last night too! I'm glad I talked DH into Thin and Crispy. But I did eat a greasy breadstick, so it still wasn't a healthy meal. ;) Did you get pan or hand-tossed? The pan is definitely a grease sponge, like you said.

First of all... I am glad I didn't know about that "ideal body weight" equation. That would put me at about 125 lb. for my ideal weight. I've never been that thin in my ENTIRE life... high school or college or even middle school (I suppose I was that weight for 5 minutes somewhere.... as I ZOOMED past it of course!). I think that 130 (which is my goal) will be low enough for me!

I'm not sure if the pizza was pan or hand-tossed. We don't order from them very often, so I just asked for the $10 special. :rotfl: The nearest Pizza Hut is about 30 minutes away, so we usually stick with either frozen, homemade or the local pizza place (which is WAAAY better than that greasy stuff we had last night!). But we were passing it on our way home from the mall, so I thought it might be a nice change. But I was WRONG!

Sunday QOTD: This question is 2 parts and you can answer one or both. What is your favorite healthy food at WDW or DL? What is your favorite healthy food when dining out?

Not sure I have any healthy favorites at Disney. Maybe my "once-per-trip" caramel apple (at least it is fruit! :lmao:)... and I usually share it with DD, so it is actually a half portion! I also LOVE the Dole Whips and from what I have seen/read, they aren't actually that bad in fat and calories. I am looking forward to having one in just a few weeks!!

Favorite healthy dining out food... I love going to Applebee's because of the WW menu items (although they have really reduced the number of them in the past year). The Steak and Portobellos meal is delicious, as is the Cajun Lime Tilapia I had just a few weeks ago. It feels like a splurge but most of the meals are lower in points than many Lean Cuisines!

For places other than Applebee's.... I usually need to order something and kind of "make it my own" by ordering it with no sauce or sauce on the side, no starch, no oil, things like that. Sometimes I'll order it with double vegetable instead of the potato/rice/fry option. It is tough, but definitely do-able.

Corrina... sorry to hear that the Thai food wasn't as you expected. That is always such a disappointment. But I suppose it falls into the "live and learn" category.

I made a nice dinner at lunch time for us, since DD is out at a party right now and I wanted to have a meal together.

I sauteed some fresh green beans, mushrooms, red bell pepper, onion, and garlic. I added some cooked bowtie pasta (white pasta... no whole wheat in the house right now ). At that point I separated out some for DS and added some bacon and mozzarella to his.

For the rest of us I cooked up some all natural chicken sausage (with sundried tomato) and added that to the pasta/veggies. I put the mozzarella and cheese grater on the table to be added as desired, but that way I could go without. It was a delicious healthy meal (would have been healthier with whole wheat, but oh well), quick and easy, and at least we could all eat a portion of it!

Dinner will be a "grab N' go" (as the kids dubbed it a few years ago). Every man for himself. DH and DS will probably fight over last night's greasy pizza (). But DS shouldn't be eating it because of his food allergies, so I think I'll have to intervene and make him something else. DD will probably be eating at the birthday party. Not sure what I will have. I'm thinking taco salad. I have some refried beans in the fridge, a bit of leftover diced pork from a few nights ago, plenty of salad greens and such. Sounds like a plan!
I've gotta run and finish up these scrapbook pages so that I can call them DONE for today!...............................P

Dh and I love to eat fruit in Africa and Dole WHips in the MK. One thing we found was fruit popsicles. We got them in DHS. ONe was strawberry and one was pineapple. We got one of each and told each other we would switch half way. we both were in love with the one we had but we did switch and the other one was just as good. The nice thing was I found them in our local grocery store when we got back. They have since stopped carrying the pineapple but I do get the strawberry ones pretty much every week. Dh, ds and I all love them and the best part is the strawberry is only 70 calories and no fat. I am hopping that come summer the pineapple ones come back. If they don't I will have to check some other grocery stores.

I have to get back to walking again. It got so cold and windy the last couple of days that we haven't walked. Dh is off the next couple of days and I start my vacation Tuesday afternoon. I am hoping that by Tuesday the rain will be gone and it will get warmer. I don't think I will have many kids in classes Mon and Tues but we have to check on some classes where faculty had vacation plans to make sure they have subs in them.

Dh and I got an email from his sister today asking if we were coming for Easter. My mom had asked us a couple of weeks ago. Dh said to me "A little late isn't it?" I am glad he had that attitude. He and I do a lot for his parents. He mows our lawn, his sister's lawn and his father's lawn. Last year I cooked St. Pat Day, Easter. Thanksgiving and Christmas for his family. The funny part is that my mil doesn't have stove that works so I cook at my house and the family transports the food to mil since it is hard for her to travel. I usually have 2 coolers (1 hot and 1 cold) a couple of crockpots and several bags of other things. If traffic ever gets bad I couple feed everyone around.

Have a nice evening everyone.

Sunday QOTD: This question is 2 parts and you can answer one or both. What is your favorite healthy food at WDW or DL? What is your favorite healthy food when dining out?

Another tough question. I can't say that I eat very healthy at WDW. We eat a lot of quick service meals. Often I let DH and the boys get what they want and I eat the leftovers. There are often leftovers and I hate to throw food away. If I do order for myself it is always a kids meal as the portion sizes are just right for me. I usually get the grapes or apples too. When we eat out I usually opt for something like chicken teriaki, a 1/2 breast size with veggie and rice. That is what I had when we ate out last night in fact.

Ugh...painting....ugh....

I love painting, but this was a lot of telling other people what to paint, which is far more exhausting to me than doing it myself. That along with the unfortunate paint fumes leaves me feeling wiped out even though it is only 6:30!

jenanderson - I totally agree with princessbride - your "slow speed" sounds pretty fast to me, especially given how new you are to running! I was going to suggest we might run together, but it sounds like you're going to be ahead of me! I am running a race the day before as well, so it could be....a very interesting weekend. Anyhow, I think you're right - be kinder to yourselves - you are doing amazing things!!!

jennz - way to get a workout in even though you were tired! I hope to follow your good example tonight.

donac - you amaze me every holiday with your ability to plan and prepare food ahead. Does this mean you are doing it all again for Easter or are you taking the day off?

my3princes - I totally agree with you on the kids meals. I love those carrots and grapes, too. :thumbsup2

pjlla - yes, I am chalking it up to live and learn, for sure! Today's lunch sound fabulous at your house!

Sunday QOTD: This question is 2 parts and you can answer one or both. What is your favorite healthy food at WDW or DL? What is your favorite healthy food when dining out?

My favorite healthy food when dining out is hard to choose - I have to say it is the whole wheat angelhair with roasted vegetables at Tucci Bennuch in the Mall of America. Mmmmm. I also love stir fry from Ghengis Grill and the black bean soup from Panera.

Favorite healthy foods at WDW: Chocolate covered banana from the ice cream carts is pretty darned good. I love the fresh fruits at any of the buffets. I can't think of a lot of real "healthy" food at WDW, but I did get some really good vegetarian vegetable soup at All Star Sports food court, of all places! We also love the veggie burgers, but I'm not sure of their "healthiness" rating.

It is so hard to list healthy foods because it seems like one person's idea of healthy is another person's idea of scary, you know?
