Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Just popping on to say "all the best" to all the BLs. I'm a two week weigh in and up this week. This would have been my last BL weigh in before the extension.

And I'm never ever here. I hate not supporting everyone.

And although I've been very successful on many a BL here - this one not so much. :3dglasses. I'm simply spinning and very frustrated. (But the lovely outcome - I AM NOT DOWN ON MYSELF! YEAH. I'm appreciating where I am and where I've come from - huge change for me mentally)

So I'm not going to do the extension and concentrate on my other WISH thread to continue my journey and get refocused.

But just wanted to say all the best to everyone! There are so many wonderful accomplishments. It truly makes me smile to see how many have reached their goals. And thank you to all the leaders. Your hard work and dedication is never taken for granted. So thank you. :lovestruc

Good morning COW participants. As we get closer to the last few weeks we need ot really work the COW as much as possible. So this week I felt we could use another Pamper week before the big push.

Today's pamper. Get a cup of hot beverage, put your feet up and read for 20minutes.

Send me the latest COW points and we will start the COW again next week.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for all you do! I may end up with a cold drink of skim milk instead of a hot one, but feet up and reading is the best way to end a day for me :goodvibes

Good Morning. It's fun reading about everyone's upcoming events. Hopefully it will remotivate us all. Let's throw a bonus event in for us all. On the last day of this challenge I am challenging each of us to post a BL day one photo (or there abouts) and a last day photo. Considering my weigh in this morning was higher than Jan 1 :scared1: That should add some motivation.

Have a great day and stay on track. We can all do this.:goodvibes

I like this idea as maybe it will motivate me to stay on plan! I was going to say I really want to see some progress, but since I'm the one not always eating great and exercising enough, I obviously don't really want it bad enough. I must go back to always asking myself before I eat something: do I want this bag of chips or do I want to lose weight. When I do that I lose, when I quit doing it I gain. So I will be kicking my own butt and getting some more losses.

:cheer2::cool1::cheer2: :cool1: for all who are seeing losses!
:grouphug::cheer2::grouphug::cheer2: for all of us who aren't, but keep trying and are staying positive!

I lost a whopping .2 today! Yea for me! lol I thought I would gain so I am happy that I didn't. Next week I am going to kick some serious butt.

I made 7 portions of vegtable stir fry and 8 portions of bean and rice enchiladas and froze them so I could have my frozen quick meal, but its healthier than like a Lean Cuisine. I also made some breakfast tortillas with egg beaters, veggie sausage and low fat cheese to have in the morinings. Its all about easy and quick for me. If I can't have it in a very few minutes, I will grab something that I can have quickly and that almost always leads me to trouble. Maybe they should call me easy and quick. Wait a min.......

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

My husband and I are going on a grownups only vacation to Orlando to see the opening of the new Harry Potter Park June 17th. I wanted to lose my first 30 pounds by then. I don't know if that will happen, but hopefully I will be close. Also in September I think we are going to have a Vow renewal in a renassiance style for our 10th anniverssary. I really want to atleast look like I did on our original wedding day.

I took the girls to a new bowling down the street from us today. It was a lot of fun. Can't wait to go back with my hubby. I talked to my sister who lives with me, and we decided this summer while Kevin is home, that once each week we will watch the other one's kids so that we can have date night with our husbands. A lot of the time I get busy being a mom and let my role of being a wife get pushed to the background and I don't want that to happen. With Kevin being gone the better part of 2 years, when he gets home this summer, we are going to spend some quality time together as a couple. I can't wait. I miss him so much.

I hope everyone is having a great day

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

In July we will be going on a Carnival cruise with 20 other people. Back in January I decided to start a Lose Before You Cruise competition with who ever wanted to join. It was $20 to get in. 5 of us decided to do it. So far I have only lost 10 lbs. I have about 12 weeks left. I have to pick up the pace or I'm gonna lose. Luckily I am the lightest in the group and have the least to lose. I'm not asking for much just another 10 lbs.

For a fitness goal, I'd like to be ready for the June 6 half marathon here in Minneapolis. My training has been almost nonexistent since the Princess, though, so I have a lot of work to do.

I'll be at the Minneapolis half along with some other WISHers from the events thread! We'd love to meet you. We'll be wearing bright green WISH shirts for the race. You've got plenty of time to train for the race!

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

It used to be that these half and full marathons would do the trick but, sadly, not anymore. :( However, I would like to be in better shape for the Disneyland half marathon during Labor Day weekend. My goal is to set a PR at that race. In order to do so, I'll have to lose some weight so I can run more.

A big thank you to tigger813 for being our coach! And thank you to our new coach, my3princes! You guys are the best!

Another thank you to LuvBaloo, our weightkeeper, and to donac, our COWkeeper. Love the pampering COW, dona.

Please be sure and send those weights and COW points to LuvBaloo and donac today! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the b-day wishes! I should have said I am -40 pounds gone since Christmas!

I'll be 42 in... *cough* 19 days *cough*.

Ann, your hair is adorable and apparently it weighed quite a bit because what a heck of a loss today! :cool1: I have to admit I thought you were saying it was your birthday when I first read that, too, so don't feel bad, jbm02. ;)

Ugh. Need some uplifting. I just had my first failed run of Couch to 5K. I tried running along the road, got rocks in my shoes, it's really hot, my stomach started hurting (abs), and I seriously misgaged the incline of a couple of hills. I just had to stop running and walk, went straight home, and only did 1.5 miles. I drank plenty of water today, ate my banana, but it was just too much. It feels like a bunch of excuses, but I just couldn't do it tonight. Midriff still hurting, feet hurting, sweating profusely, feeling like a failure, and now I just want to go to bed! Anyone runners ever have runs like this? Only ran about a mile.... of course, that's a lot better than I could do when I started 2 months ago.

Everyone has good days and bad days. The fact that you are getting out there and trying is the important thing. Honor your body if it says you need a rest! :)

Thursday QOTD:Who is your all time favorite music group or singer?BONUS Question: What are you reading now? Do you prefer to read a book or listen to an audiobook?

I will say Journey (the old Journey with Steve Perry) is my all time favorite group. I love listening to Disney music on the internet all day at work.

I am reading an old Victoria Holt book called Time of the Hunter's Moon. I went to the library and got a bunch of old books I have read for a long time. I just finished the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn -- I enjoyed them because they are set in Regency England and Georgette Heyer is one of favorites. I like to read a book but I should try audiobooks some time. I really like to read what I call "bubblegum for the brain." :cloud9:

 Hope that you are feeling better, jennz.

 Same for you princessbride6205.

I've had that frantic feeling all week. This morning DS told me that I've been acting like my pants are on fire! :rotfl: It's true because that is how I feel. I'm ready for the week-end.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

Isn't it funny how those big events make good goals for losing weight? My big event is the big 5-0 staring me down in July. I really, really want to be in ONE-derland for that. I'll be getting close to that goal when I am at Disneyland in June.

 Hope that your DD is feeling better, flipflopmom. I think 3 pounds is a great loss!

My event is our 7 day cruise on Royal Carribean's Freedom of the Seas. Departs a week from Sunday . I'm just really frustrated with my weight loss. I was on a good pace, even hit the 10 pound mark. But then I slowed down. And Easter happened. And my current weight is only 8 pounds lower from when I started. Yes I am more toned. And many of my smaller sized clothes fit now and didnt before. I am wearing baggy pants today. I just really wanted to lose 13 pounds before the cruise and obviously that's not going to happen. Not that I will stop exercising or eating right. But I am disappointed.

I'm not even looking forward to tonight. As part of our Christmas gift, my DH's aunt and uncle are taking the whole family (8 of us) to a local famous steak restaurant called the Angus Barn. A 7 ounce filet is $32! So it's not something we ever eat at on our own. I usually pig out but I have looked at the menu and planned my attack this time.

Did you do any measurements when you started? Reviewing those might help you feel better about the progress you've made. Also, you've got a great plan for dinner tonight. The fact that you are doing that shows that this is becoming a way of life for you and not just a short term goal! :thumbsup2

I had a small loss, which is within the maintenance range. I'm happy I had a successful first week as a maintainer.

Congrats on your first week of maintaining! :yay:

But just wanted to say all the best to everyone! There are so many wonderful accomplishments. It truly makes me smile to see how many have reached their goals. And thank you to all the leaders. Your hard work and dedication is never taken for granted. So thank you. :lovestruc

 hi lisaviolet! Hope that you will pop in every once in awhile to say "hi!"

I was a samer this week but I since I can't run this week, I'm okay with that. Especially since I realized that I passed the 10% mark of bodyweight lost and didn't even realize it! :yay: Two more pounds for that 30 lb clippie.

Just a quick notes because I have to tell someone.

My ds1 just got a job in his field.:banana::banana: He had an interview at 3 to 4:30 this afternoon and they just called him to say they want him to start as soon as possible. He told them that he has to give his 2 weeks notice to JCPenney where he has worked for 6 years. He also told them that he would have to a week off in Aug. He didn't tell them that he was taking his gf to DW.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?.

My event is long-term. I want to do the WDW Full Marathon in 2012, and that means I need to shed alot of weight so I can focus on being a healthy weight for training. Training for a Full does not generally help you lose, and is much easier if you are at a lower weight (or so some very wise people tell me). I want to do a Full once in my life (just to finish it, but for me that will be six hours!), and I have to get it in before the world ends ;). What, the Mayan calendar ends, so time must, too. :rotfl: I'm trying to lose weight this year, so I can train next year. I really think when I lose another 25 lbs, I will be ready.

Now I just need to focus --- I had a bad accident with twizzlers this afternoon. I mean, really, really bad. I am so full right now, I have no interest in dinner. On the bright side, now there aren't any more in the house, so I just have to not buy myself any more. :rolleyes1

I have 7M on tap tomorrow for my long run, so hopefully that will help. TOM arrived today and I just lost it. My control, I mean. Just gone with the wind. That doesn't happen to me often. It's been a weird and stressful week at work, and I think my brain just melted down. As Scarlett O'Hara would say, "Tomorrow is another Day". :rotfl2:

I did do half an hour of brisk walking and 20 situps, I drank 64 oz. of water, so at least today wasn't a total wash.

Hi. Just got back from my trip. Can't catch up right now-- been on all day. Husband happened to mention to me a new airline to fly out of our airport is having really low fares right now to LAX so I was swinging that idea around--it's tempting--$59 fares, but the days are limited to sunday and thursday and that not enough time for us with getting in at 8 pm sunday and leaving at 4 pm thu. Too much hassle too--I like the idea of just getting into the car and going...

Don't have any pictures just yet because my dumb camera didn't charge-I thought I charged it before the trip but it didn't. I'm sure my mom will email me pics though and I have one we sent to my husband so I can look that up.
I wanted one for a before and after thing for the board. I'll look up the one I sent to husband--daughters husband took it on his phone. We were in a predominantly hispanic neighborhood and it had this pretty little church with a very brown Mary and Jesus shrine--and I loved that!
Palm Springs was so nice and sunny, 88 the day I left. I found a close Goodwill and just went crazy, but I was really picky too-- I ended up with about 5 shirts I think, a pair of jeans, sweats and cords, 1 pair of shorts and 2 capris. A lot of the clothes at Goodwill had tags on them still--all unit pricing. My daughter found a $300 pair of Vera Wang jeans,(not new but in great shape), and a gorgeous long dress coat, among her best finds. I found a $50 pair of Gap cords with tags on them for $3.99 as all pants were 1/2 off one of the days. I tried on 12's but they were consistently too big to my surprise and delight. I found 2 capt. Jack Sparrow shirts! Also a really pretty printed top with tags on it still ($34--$4.49 for me though) among my favorite finds. I got some jeans that fit perfect too-- that is so hard for me. I really like low rise but so many pooch out so much in the back and I refuse to wear a belt- I love these jeans though they have some spandex and rhinestones on the back pockets lol. They're Levi's EVA jeans. Cracks me up--this is the write up on 'em--:
More booty-friendly styles have also been added to the homegrown Levi’s® EVA range. Levi’s® EVA jeans are designed for women with curvaceous bodies.
That's me allright lol.

I am reading an old Victoria Holt book called Time of the Hunter's Moon. I went to the library and got a bunch of old books I have read for a long time.

I remember reading her. I was really into romances as a young girl then got burned out and quit in disgust when I found out it just wasn't like that.....not for me anyway. It's great to go back and re-read stuff ya like.

Bowie-- always--lifetime fan. I don't really listen to him at all though. I listen to cd's I burn myself. I'm a pirate...all the stuff I like though is so old the people who'd benefit are probably deceased...I like a lot of Disney stuff though too. I like putting together cd's and the sound quality- not an ipod person. Have one though just for road trips and working out at the gym though-put a bunch of 80's music on it once and haven't messed with it since. If I listen to the radio there's one am oldies channel I like that I can tolerate, if I can't get that in (signal's not great) it's the classical station.

I'm reading Twilight right now. Someone told us a few days too late we were getting a showtime preview but there were still a few things on on demand and that was one of them. I was a little curious because I knew some of it had been filmed in Oregon. Well I liked it. Lol. I confessed to one of my friends at work (who happens to be a fellow Disneyland junkie) because I knew she really loved the whole Twilight thing and she promptly brought me the book to read.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?.

Our trip in June is great motivation to maintain!

Congratulations, Dona! This is huge, fantastic news! You must be so excited! :woohoo::yay::banana::dance3:

I know you are very proud of your sons (as you should be, they are both very accomplished!), and this is the validation and step you have been waiting for! Great job, for both him and Mom!

Hope everyone has had a great day!

I was down 2.8 this morning so I officially get to keep my 45 pound clippie!!!! I'm so happy about that! WHEW!!!!!

I was good all day! Strawberry yogurt milk shake for breakfast followed by the chocolate pretzel Special K bar. For lunch I had a ww lasagna! I then had 1/2 of a 3 musketeer truffle crisp bar! We went to Texas Roadhouse for supper and I had a roll, cheesy fries a salad, and a steak. I did 5 miles this morning.

Feeling full though I really didn't eat a ton at supper. I guess it's just because I'm not used to eating all of the stuff!

Catching up on shows from the week with the family like Project Runway which both girls love. DH even likes it!

Busy day tomorrow so I hope I sleep well. I plan on working out before taking DD2 to her soccer practice/game at 10. I will have to get up early anyways to make DD1 and DH breakfast before their game. They need to leave before 8.

Congrats, Maizie on the BIG LOSS! I hope to lose 5 next week so I can get my 50 pound clippie! Time for a wine cooler!!!!

Hmmm--well - originally I wanted to get to my wedding weight by our 5th anniversary (265 by March 25th) but with the 2 week absence at the beginning of March with Gpas funeral and stuff--that didn't happen--but I reached that goal yesterday!! :cool1: So now I'm really not working toward anything--my next goal is just a number by end of May... so nothing really inspiring. I'll have to think about this--cause a reward for meeting the number could be fun--I'll talk it over with Joe and see if he can come up with something 'we' can work towards :) Great question to get me thinking. Looking forward to reading the rest of your great adventures and plans

I love this idea--it was so fun to see Ann's pictures of the pre and post hair cut--makes me think of getting one this coming week - I'm definitely stuck in a hair rut (wake up, twist, clip, done or wake up, pony, done--that's it). It would be so fun to see the faces (and bodies, I guess) that have been here on this journey together--cause those that have pics in their siggies - those are just so small... very fun idea--and I hope that others will do it :) Definitely a motivator to push through everything and do my best for these last few weeks

Have a great weigh-in everyone! Good luck - and :grouphug: to all!!!

I'm glad you reached your first goal and that you've set another. :cool1: I think that before and after photos will be fun and a great way to connect a face to the support we've given each other.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?
I was trying to get to goal by the Princess Marathon a month ago, but that didn't happen. Now that I'm in maintenance, I don't have an event that I'm working towards for weight loss. For a fitness goal, I'd like to be ready for the June 6 half marathon here in Minneapolis. My training has been almost nonexistent since the Princess, though, so I have a lot of work to do.
I think it would be good to have a maintenance goal though - like if I maintain for the rest of this BL challenge, I can reward myself with something. I'll have to pick something.

Maintaining and marathons. Wow, I'm impressed.

Hidee-Ho Biggest Losers!

I had a GREAT weigh in this morning... down 7.1 pounds. SEVEN-POINT-ONE. Crazy. That brings my total loss since Christmas to 41.3. I'm surprised I lost so much, I had a rough, emotional couple days. But I am moving on! <----- that's me... moving on!

Not going to the gym today... it's Annual Garbage Day in my neighborhood. One day a year we can put whatever we want at the curb and the garbage man takes it away for free. We have a lot of old junk we're getting rid of. I'm going to be walking the stairs a lot today so I did 5 miles of WATP this morning and the gym will wait until Monday.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

5K in May, 5k in July, 5K in September and a Disney Cruise in December.

7.1 lbs. I must bow to you.

You will certainly be ready for your 5K(s)

Congrats on losing 10% that is a great milestone. I understand setting goals before the big birthday. I hit the big 4-0 last year and I had wanted to lose those last lbs, but alas I didn't. I am still working towards it though:thumbsup2

Forget the unfortunate Twizzler incident, it was only a small scratch anyway ;) Having a long term goal is a good motivator, but enjoy some smaller ones along the way. You're doing great.

Our trip in June is great motivation to maintain!

Congrats on the size 10s and the great bargains. Sounds like a fabulous trip. Maybe you'll need 8s before your trip:goodvibes

It's been a long day and tomorrow will be another one. The Carnival is in good shape as well as the basket raffle. The kids presold enough tickets to more than cover our costs so now it is all profit. Hopefully we'll have a great turnout.

I think I've kept up with the thread or maybe caught up is a better way to put it. Keep up the good work.

Thursday QOTD:Who is your all time favorite music group or singer?

BONUS Question: What are you reading now? Do you prefer to read a book or listen to an audiobook?

My favorite group has always been New Kids on the Block. I've never outgrown them and no one else has come along to replace them yet!

I prefer to read books rather than listen to audio books. Unfortunately I don't get nearly enough time for reading as I'd like. I'm currently reading James Patterson's King Tut.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

My mini event in the near future is a trip to my friend's in Chicago to spend a girls' weekend. No kids and no hubby. My friend is a personal trainer and she's one of those people that's in such great shape that even thin people feel big next to her! I haven't seen her since July, so I think I will be noticably thinner since then and less self conscience if I'm meeting some of her other friends. Ultimately I want to be at goal next March when we go to Disney so my 6 ft. tall sister in law doesn't look better than me in her bikini at the pool!

Yesterday I was at a conference all day and of course they fed us nothing but junk! I did much better at home today and there's nothing special going on this weekend, so hopefully I won't have any trouble staying on track. I rode my bike 6 miles today and I have Zumba on Sat. and Zumba toning on Sun. Monday will probably be another bike ride if it's still this nice out.

Saturday's QOTD: What's your shoe of choice for Disney?

I'm all about comfort at Disney, but I also like something that can get wet and dry quickly. My most recent favorite Disney shoe is my Crocs Cleo Sandals. They are comfortable and they can get wet without causing irritation.

QOTD:Saturday

I wear CROCS with little footie socks. I have started looking for new ones for our trip in December. I may even try a pair of the flip flops. DD1 also likes them. Even DH uses his CROCS at Disney as he gets really bad blisters the first day there in his sneakers. The CROCS help him get through but he also has to use bandages on his feet as well as the skin glide stick stuff.

I'm also thinking about getting the Payless version of ShapeUps by Champion. I have a coupon that I need to use for $5 off, just trying to save up the money. They are a lot cheaper than the real ones and I don't want to spend a ton of money on them in case I don't like them.

Time to get something tho drink! Dinner made me really thirsty!

CONGRATULATIONS to your son! Do you mind saying what his field is?

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm feeling a lot better today, I think yesterday was simply a lack of sleep this whole week catching up with me. I got to play solo adult in my room again today. One of my paras was having a kidney stone broken up this afternoon. It's been put into the sub finder system for a few days, but they still couldn't get a sub for the afternoon. The other para was on break and then with my four second graders on a field trip. Our schedule has been screwed up because of MAP testing. We had to change our specials and there is no speech this weeek or next week, so it really throws the kids for a loop. For being so crazy and having to change plans at the last minute, the kids were pretty good!

Friday QOTD: My wedding next year. I was looking at pictures of myself in the dresses I tried on. Maybe it was the angle, but looking at the pics made me feel sad. I don't think they looked good at all. I've bee nwanting to lose before hte wedding came up for health reasons, but now I have the extra motivation.

Whenever you post a problem with your kids (school kids) I feel for you. My son was in special ed classes, I remember one time they had a meeting with us and wanted us to give them permission to physically restrain him when he was misbehaving. Of course we said no--the problem with him was when he wasn't finished doing something he wouldn't just stop lol. The example was when he was putting the dinosaurs away- he had to put them in the right order--that sort of thing...lol. His kindergarten teacher was experiencing her first year as a teacher after being a principal for many years...We helped her come to solutions though ;) He's on the high end of the autism spectrum.
God I love that show Parenthood. It's bringing a lot of stuff back for me--stuff I went through with him.

I'm glad you reached your first goal and that you've set another. :cool1: I think that before and after photos will be fun and a great way to connect a face to the support we've given each other.

Good for you planning your meal ahead of time. I think your cruise will be wonderful and such a worthy goal.

Maintaining and marathons. Wow, I'm impressed.

7.1 lbs. I must bow to you.
not-worthy.gif
You will certainly be ready for your 5K(s)

Continued good luck on your weight loss journey

Good luck stepping it up. Kick some cruisers butts:thumbsup2 The bonus is that you will feel and look great on your trip.

That is a great goal, lose weight, set a PR and go to DL :thumbsup2

Congrats on losing 10% that is a great milestone. I understand setting goals before the big birthday. I hit the big 4-0 last year and I had wanted to lose those last lbs, but alas I didn't. I am still working towards it though:thumbsup2

Forget the unfortunate Twizzler incident, it was only a small scratch anyway ;) Having a long term goal is a good motivator, but enjoy some smaller ones along the way. You're doing great.

Congrats on the size 10s and the great bargains. Sounds like a fabulous trip. Maybe you'll need 8s before your trip:goodvibes
Aah--lol no I'm just maintaining- I have no intention of losing any more. Keeping up with back exercises though, which really tone my stomach are going to be what I have to keep up on. I lost a little of the 'booty' but I'm afraid my geography will remain essentially the same

Last time I liked my crocs and new balance but this year I'm just taking 3 pairs of crocs. It's good to switch off--I have a white and pink pair of Mickey crocs, some black caymans and a pair of sandal like crocs that are sort of a khaki color--go with a lot. It'll be so much warmer this time and no threat of rain.

This wasn't addressed to me, but having an inclusion special needs/reg.ed. K class, I have to comment. Two things strike me here. 1. I :lmao: at the thought of a principal teaching K. Everytime I am observed, the first thing I hear in post-eval conference is "How do you do this ALL day EVERY day. 2. She seriously wanted permission to restrain for not putting away dinosaurs????? :scared1: I've only had 1 situation with a student that required "ptr". He had some serious emotional/behavior issues, definitely not autism. That year, I wore a radio, as our policy stated I had to ask for "ptr" everytime I needed it, and state why. I asked if I could call it "ptr" b/c it was always a serious situation that I needed permission fast. Once, he was stabbing me with a pencil, another time he ran away and was trying to get out of the building, and another time he was on the highest piece of playground equipment dancing and yelling "I'm gonna jump". I'll never forget yelling into the radio "he's getting ready to kill himself. PTR" :scared1: He didn't stay long, about 3 months, but it was 3 of the longest months of my teaching career.

Sorry to get OT here, that phrase just brought it all back..

I am up at 4:30 on a Saturday. DH is working today, I need to get going on a research paper I have due, and tonight is my Girls' Night Out!!!! I cannot wait, we try to do 4 a year, but I haven't been in a year and a half. :yay:So thankful to Mom for keeping the girls for me! Already studying the menus to find a healthier option!

And after the book, QOTD: I  Teva Mush flipflops. I have 6 or 8 pairs, they are sooo comfy. I try to only pack 3. I also take Teva hurricanes, b/c they are great in rain. For some reason, I found my crocs to be slippery when wet? I do take 1 pair of mickey crocs, but prefer my flip flops!

I miss reading books but I'm having trouble getting into them lately. I'm currently reading The Know-It-All by A.J. Jacobs, which is nonfiction about reading the entire Encyclopedia Britannica in a year. I LOVED his The Guinea Pig Diaries and The Year of Living Biblically. I like Chick Lit for my fun reads (Bridget Jones, etc.) or historical fiction. I like nonfiction books about current events, politics, and history - but sometimes as much as I like the genre, I have a hard time finishing.

I read "The Year of Living Bibically" last year and really enjoyed it. I have been thinking abou reading "The Guinea Pig Diaries" since I saw it in a bookstore back in January, but haven't gotten around to asking the library about it.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

Thanks for coaching this week! The event that got me started (again) on this journey was our 2008 trip to WDW. But thankfully I was able to keep motivation after that trip and kept going. I have kind of discovered in life that there are all sorts of "events" that crop up, sometimes unexpectedly, where it is SO NICE to be at a decent weight and have clothes that fit and look good. And continuing to lose and/or maintain make it possible to always look my best for these events. For example, DD's annual swim banquet is tonight. I haven't had to give extensive thought to what I am going to wear because I know that everything in m closet fits and looks good.

I would LOVE to be at goal for my trip to WDW with DS in 27 days.... but I am struggling so badly with these last few pounds I have no illlusions of actually making it. WHO KNEW that the last 7 pounds would take longer to lose than the first 40??!!

Saturday's QOTD: What's your shoe of choice for Disney?

I am strictly a sneaker girl. Maybe not the most fashionable choice, but it always works for me. I'm lucky that my feet have never gotten drenched on a ride. I can't do flip-flops at all.... I can't stand the pain of that thing between my toes!! :scared1: I'm not particularly comfortable in Crocs. I'd love to think about getting a pair of Shape-Ups for my trip to Disney, but I'm not in the market to spend $100 on sneakers right now. I'd rather have it to spend at Disney.

Happy Saturday morning everyone! Sorry I didn't make it over here yesterday. DS got home from camp, so I had to pick him up at school. Plus I am preparing for a scrapbooking convention weekend at the end of the month, so I am getting stuff ready for that.... and then of course, there was the usual bit of housework and exercise.

Sadly, the scale showed me UP 1.1 yesterday. I was afraid of that, after the big loss I had last week. But at least I know it wasn't all a fluke and that most of it was a true loss. It is just very frustrating not to be able to lose two weeks in a row!! The entire year of 2008 I had a loss virtually every week (except for a few vacation weeks).... so now to be only losing about every third or fourth week is just aggravating!! Like I mentioned a few lines ago, this final few pounds is taking LONGER to lose than the first 40!! Almost all of my shorts from last summer still fit.... which made me mad because I wanted to be smaller this summer!! I am only a few pounds away from where I was late last summer... it took me several weeks at the beginning of this year to lose the "Christmas/New Years" weight and from there it has just been a yo-yo of "up 1 lb, down 1 lb". Yes, overall I am DOWN (just 1.1 away from my all-time low that I hit last week), but frustrating nonetheless.

And of course, I "ate" into that frustration last night and ended the day over my points.... which wouldn't be a big deal because I have my entire week's Flex points to use... except I am going to DD's swim banquet tonight and the food choices aren't good! Pasta, chicken fingers, fries... that type of stuff. Hopefully there will be salad to fill up on. Gotta remember to bring my own dressing.

Well... DD wants to hit the Y at 10 am for an extra swim practice. I'm going to hit the grocery store while she is swimming, so I really need to get my workout in right now, while everyone is still asleep. BBL...............P
