Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Good Morning all. It's looking like rain and it is 20 degrees cooler than yesterday. It's a good day to ...just keep swimmin...just keep swimmin.

Good morning!

Thanks so much for all the compliments on my hair cut! It's a huge step for me because I have been wearing my hair the same way for so long.

Here is a picture of me at Christmas... 40 pounds heavier. It's blurry because I had to cut out my entire family (brother, nephews, parents, grandma, etc). The two goofballs behind me are my oldest son and my youngest daughter.

And this is me yesterday... after the gym.

One of these days, I'll have the hubby take a full body picture. He took one yesterday but I wasn't wearing pants (just a T-shirt). :rotfl:

Thursday QOTD:Who is your all time favorite music group or singer?

Oooh, tough one. My all time favorite is Pearl Jam. I've been a fan since the beginning. However, my favorite kind of music is 80's punk... The Dead Milkmen, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedy's, Violent Femmes, etc. That's what I listen to the most.

My guilty pleasure is... *please don't tell anyone* Lady Gaga and The Black Eyed Peas. I listen to them on my iPod while I am at the gym. The music makes me walk/run faster.

BONUS Question: What are you reading now? Do you prefer to read a book or listen to an audiobook?

A couple weeks ago I bought Bethenny Frankel's book "Naturally Thin" for my Kindle... but I haven't started reading it. Bethenny is from the Housewives of New York reality show. Every time I start to read it, I fall asleep.

I need to get some cleaning done before I decide if I am going to the gym. I saw a snowflake today so I might skip the gym and work out at home. *giggle*

Ugh I woke up today feeling like I've been hit by a truck! And no cocktails last night...maybe allergies? I'm getting ready to head out in the cold for a walk to see if I can shake this.

Favorite music...we all seem to have similar tastes, you mentioned several of my favorites. I also love ABBA!!! Tom Petty and the Rolling Stones are up there too.

I started a new book today...just finished dd's Maximum ride series last night and started Dead Witch Walking on dh's kindle today...a free download that I'm really enjoying!

I'm having huge allergy issues right now. I know we are on high pollen alert in my area. No amount of antihistamine or decongestant is working. The meds are allowing me to function but that's about it.

Lots of moderate work and life stress for me. Firing our daycare person has really taken up a good amount of emotional energy. Things at work aren't bad, but we are so busy that I feel frantic and work late every night. Apparently this type of stress combined with my insane allergy symptoms make me want to NOT eat. I have not had nearly as much time as I like to workout this week, so I'm glad I'm under my calories each day at least.

QOTD Music & Books:
I love showtunes/Broadway musicals. I also like some pop music from previous decades, but I wouldn't know a current artist if they knocked on my door. In the car, we also listen to some kids music like Disneymania, Music Together, and soundtracks from Sesame Street Live.
I miss reading books but I'm having trouble getting into them lately. I'm currently reading The Know-It-All by A.J. Jacobs, which is nonfiction about reading the entire Encyclopedia Britannica in a year. I LOVED his The Guinea Pig Diaries and The Year of Living Biblically. I like Chick Lit for my fun reads (Bridget Jones, etc.) or historical fiction. I like nonfiction books about current events, politics, and history - but sometimes as much as I like the genre, I have a hard time finishing.

Just got back from soccer practice! It was FREEZING! We were so spoiled yesterday when it hit 90. Making tea for myself, DH and DD1, green tea and Earl Grey Green Tea! Need something to warm up.

I did 5 miles of WATP this morning and walked at least a 1/2 mile tonight walking the track with DD2! I don't think it's going to work bringing her to practice as she wants to get involved and it just didn't work well tonight. The other assistant was there so I was able to give DD2 attention.

DD1 just got out of the shower and now I need to give DD2 a quick bath.

I've loved reading all of your responses today! I love Broadway shows too! I'm also a collector of soundtracks! I just love the variety of songs I can find on a soundtrack! And of course Disney music! I listen to a lot of classical and new age music when I give massages! My favorites are Cristofori's Dream and Mannheim Massage! I am also a big Christmas music fan! I have about 50 Christmas CDs. Oh yeah, I love Josh Groban too!

maizezoe--the haircut looks great!

QoftheDay--Great question! On my workout play list I have (to name a few) dixie chicks, eminem, black eyed peas, michael penn, erasure, one republic, abba, new order, beastie boys, and a few others. BUT my all time very favorite bands are The Cure and Counting Crows. I love, love, love Counting Crows, but don't usually listen to them when I work out.

I'm hoping to be down to the weight I was at two weeks ago tomorrow. Despite just getting back Monday night, I've been on the elliptical 3x this week and have gone to group strength. Class night was brutal. Only 45 min. but it was a sub and she went full bore the entire time. I am really sore today.

Hope everyone suffering from allegies gets some relief soon. My dh has nasty tree allergies, and the worst of it seems to be about done here.

Have a good evening and hope everyone has a great weigh in tomorrow!

Sorry I have been MIA all week. The girls are on Spring Break, so that throws my normal schedule out of whack.

I just want to wish everyone good luck for the weigh in tomorrow!

Thank you Tigger 813 for being our wonderful coach for the last week and thank all those that came before you. The questions of the day are something that I look forward to, even when I haven't totally been on track.

My name is Deb and I will be your coach for the next week. The next couple of days will be a bit busy for me with that big fundraiser, but I will find time to catch up each night. So in order to stay on track as your coach I will post my first question of the day tonight.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

I always need something to work towards. For me it is our upcoming summer vacation. We will be spending a week at WDW, A week aboard NCL's new Epic cruiseship followed by a week in Orlando exploring US, Seaworld and a little more WDW. I know that we will have tons of pictures and we'll be spending plenty of time in our swimsuits. I want this vacation to be memorable and I want the pictures to be worthy of the memories.

I'm a bit scared of the scale this week. We've ordered lunch a couple of times this week at school. (The sped department likes to order). I haven't been as good as I should have been.

Today I felt like crap, I almost passed out at work and was just very light headed all day. The nurse tried to send me home, but we couldn't get a sub for my room, so I had to stick it out. I ended up cancelling my personal training session for today Hopefully the scale will be kind on Saturday.

Thanks for coaching Tigger!
Thanks for coaching my3princes! Good luck with your fundraiser this weekend!

:grouphug: to all who are stressed or not feeling well or need some :grouphug: for any other reason.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?.

Right now, I think my problem is that I don't have anything soon to aim for. Haven't been able to get completely back on plan since coming back from vacation. Too many nights not sleeping well. I'm heading to bed early tonight and am skipping a workout tonight, but will definitely get some exercise in tomorrow. Need to start a count-down to my next cruise in April 2011! Bringing DCL to Canada :cool1:

Good morning COW participants. As we get closer to the last few weeks we need ot really work the COW as much as possible. So this week I felt we could use another Pamper week before the big push.

Today's pamper. Get a cup of hot beverage, put your feet up and read for 20minutes.

Send me the latest COW points and we will start the COW again next week.

First of all, what an amazing vacation you have planned ! That sounds sooo incredible!

For me, the trip in June with all those photopass and home pictures gave me my original goal. Now that I have 72 days before we go, and only 12 pounds to get there, I am considering changing by goal weight for Disney by lowering it 5 pounds. I'll reevaluate next month to see how it goes...

DD1 vomited at 2am today. I hope it was a one time thing, and that she'll be up ready to go when it's time to get her up. We'll see..

Today's weigh in - down 3 pounds! :cool1: I was hoping for 5 this week, but the great overeating on Easter took care of that goal. :headache: I'll take 3I guess..

Another reason to dance is that I can now use the 30lb clippie! I am down 31 pounds since Jan. 18. I hadn't joined BL until I had lost 16 already, but I am going to count it b/c I am so proud! Only 32 pounds until goal! Almost halfway there.

Thanks guys! I enjoyed being coach again! It really helped me this week get back on track. I will do my weigh in a bit later. I just finished mu 3 miles and will be doing 2 more at 7:30.

Friday QOTD: I am working toward first my 40th b'day in August! Then we have my b'day trip in December! I am so close! I hope to be at my goal in the next 2-3 weeks! I know I will have a decent loss this week so I'm on my way! Then I will be joining the maintainers club!

I'm going to exercise this weekend and not drink as much! No white Russians this weekend as that's my hi calorie drink! We're eating out tonight as we won't all be together much over the weekend!

Time to get DD1 going! It's a rainy day here today so I'll probably have to drive her to the bus stop!

Have a great Friday all!:cheer2:

Good Morning. It's fun reading about everyone's upcoming events. Hopefully it will remotivate us all. Let's throw a bonus event in for us all. On the last day of this challenge I am challenging each of us to post a BL day one photo (or there abouts) and a last day photo. Considering my weigh in this morning was higher than Jan 1 :scared1: That should add some motivation.

Have a great day and stay on track. We can all do this.:goodvibes

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

Hmmm--well - originally I wanted to get to my wedding weight by our 5th anniversary (265 by March 25th) but with the 2 week absence at the beginning of March with Gpas funeral and stuff--that didn't happen--but I reached that goal yesterday!! :cool1: So now I'm really not working toward anything--my next goal is just a number by end of May... so nothing really inspiring. I'll have to think about this--cause a reward for meeting the number could be fun--I'll talk it over with Joe and see if he can come up with something 'we' can work towards :) Great question to get me thinking. Looking forward to reading the rest of your great adventures and plans :surfweb:

Today I felt like crap, I almost passed out at work and was just very light headed all day. The nurse tried to send me home, but we couldn't get a sub for my room, so I had to stick it out.

I hope you are feeling better today

Right now, I think my problem is that I don't have anything soon to aim for. Haven't been able to get completely back on plan since coming back from vacation. Too many nights not sleeping well.

Hope you're able to get enough sleep to have the energy and 'gumption' to get back on plan :thumbsup2 Thanks so much for all you do as the weightkeeper--I'm sure it's a lot of work and I really appreciate all you do.

Good morning COW participants. As we get closer to the last few weeks we need ot really work the COW as much as possible. So this week I felt we could use another Pamper week before the big push.
Today's pamper. Get a cup of hot beverage, put your feet up and read for 20minutes.

What fun!! I am definitely looking forward to a great week of pampering challenges--to get ready for whatever you have in store for us to push us to new successes! Thanks for all you do!!

I can now use the 30lb clippie! I am down 31 pounds since Jan. 18. I hadn't joined BL until I had lost 16 already, but I am going to count it b/c I am so proud! Only 32 pounds until goal! Almost halfway there.

Way to go with the 31 pounds :cool1: and with being almost halfway to your goal . Very cool! Congratulations!!
I'm at 33 pounds--which brings me to about 25% of my goal... but I'll take it... I'm down to needing to lose less than 100 lbs now :)

Let's throw a bonus event in for us all. On the last day of this challenge I am challenging each of us to post a BL day one photo (or there abouts) and a last day photo. Considering my weigh in this morning was higher than Jan 1 :scared1: That should add some motivation.

I love this idea--it was so fun to see Ann's pictures of the pre and post hair cut--makes me think of getting one this coming week - I'm definitely stuck in a hair rut (wake up, twist, clip, done or wake up, pony, done--that's it). It would be so fun to see the faces (and bodies, I guess) that have been here on this journey together--cause those that have pics in their siggies - those are just so small... very fun idea--and I hope that others will do it :) Definitely a motivator to push through everything and do my best for these last few weeks :)

Have a great weigh-in everyone! Good luck - and :grouphug: to all!!!
:) Liz

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?.

My event is our 7 day cruise on Royal Carribean's Freedom of the Seas. Departs a week from Sunday . I'm just really frustrated with my weight loss. I was on a good pace, even hit the 10 pound mark. But then I slowed down. And Easter happened. And my current weight is only 8 pounds lower from when I started. Yes I am more toned. And many of my smaller sized clothes fit now and didnt before. I am wearing baggy pants today. I just really wanted to lose 13 pounds before the cruise and obviously that's not going to happen. Not that I will stop exercising or eating right. But I am disappointed.

I'm not even looking forward to tonight. As part of our Christmas gift, my DH's aunt and uncle are taking the whole family (8 of us) to a local famous steak restaurant called the Angus Barn. A 7 ounce filet is $32! So it's not something we ever eat at on our own. I usually pig out but I have looked at the menu and planned my attack this time.

Weight in this morning, who do we send our results to?
Send a PM to LuvBaloo - our official weightkeeper.

I had a small loss, which is within the maintenance range. I'm happy I had a successful first week as a maintainer.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?
I was trying to get to goal by the Princess Marathon a month ago, but that didn't happen. Now that I'm in maintenance, I don't have an event that I'm working towards for weight loss. For a fitness goal, I'd like to be ready for the June 6 half marathon here in Minneapolis. My training has been almost nonexistent since the Princess, though, so I have a lot of work to do.
I think it would be good to have a maintenance goal though - like if I maintain for the rest of this BL challenge, I can reward myself with something. I'll have to pick something. :)

I hope you are feeling better soon!!

Hidee-Ho Biggest Losers!

I had a GREAT weigh in this morning... down 7.1 pounds. SEVEN-POINT-ONE. Crazy. That brings my total loss since Christmas to 41.3. I'm surprised I lost so much, I had a rough, emotional couple days. But I am moving on! :) :moped: <----- that's me... moving on!

Not going to the gym today... it's Annual Garbage Day in my neighborhood. One day a year we can put whatever we want at the curb and the garbage man takes it away for free. We have a lot of old junk we're getting rid of. I'm going to be walking the stairs a lot today so I did 5 miles of WATP this morning and the gym will wait until Monday.

Friday's Question of the Day: I think that most of us have a future event that adds to our drive to lose weight or just look better. What is the event that you are working towards?

5K in May, 5k in July, 5K in September and a Disney Cruise in December.
