Biggest Loser 8 Fall Challenge -- for losers and maintainers!

:lmao: I like how you changed me from LuvBaloo to Luvaboo, which in my head sounds like a little kid saying lovable!:lmao:

And I think step one is trying, and am proud of everybody who is making an effort! I hope you get a loss next week, so you feel proud of it :thumbsup2

I have no ide how I did it, but most of the time I don't know how I do half the stuff I do. Bad thing is I will probably am going to think of you as Luvaboo from now on. I am so senile sometimes.
Thanks for the encourgment. :flower3:

I'm up 0.8# this week, but I deserve it. That's what you get when you have pizza for dinner the night before weigh-in! Oh well, I went grocery shopping this morning and stocked up on healthy stuff.

Thurs. QOTD: I was 12 the first time I went to WDW. My sister had just graduated high school and was getting ready to leave for the Navy, and my parents suddenly realized that their birdies were leaving the nest and they'd never taken us to Disney, or much of anywhere really. There were just 2 parks then and we had 5 day passes, so we had lots of time to see everything. I remember the fabulous buffet breakfast at the Grovenor (sp?) Resort every morning, and a stage show with Minnie dancing to 80s music.

Fri. QOTD: The top 5 things I've always wanted to learn how to do or know more about:
1. How to speak Spanish fluently.
2. How to do a lot more with my computer. I still can't manage to post pictures on here!
3. How to edit home videos and make slide shows.
4. How to decorate cakes.
5. How to scrapbook properly.

I haven't read all the responses yet since the thread grew 10 pages since I last visited 2 days ago, but if you're still taking votes, I vote for the Mickey clippie!

Friday's QOTD:

List the top 5 things that you have always wanted to learn how to do or know more about.

1. I want to speak another language fluently.
2. Play better golf.
3. Learn to knit.
4. Know more history.
5. Understand how the dog can ignore me, but can't figure out that doorbell is on TV.

Friday's QOTD:

List the top 5 things that you have always wanted to learn how to do or know more about.

1. Design and maintain a website. Took an html class but need to apply it.

2. Improve my piano playing (just starting taking lessons a couple of months ago -- thanks to the COW!)

3. Speak spanish.

4. Run a Disney marathon.

5. Learn meditation and relaxation techniques.

I had a gain of .6 this week. Not what I wanted to see after a week of staying on track & getting in my exercise.

 That is frustrating! Hope you see big results next week!

I'm very happy with Nintendo. My WiiFit broke early last week, and the warranty was expired. I called them up to find out how to fix it. It cost me $60 including shipping. We sent it out Tuesday and they ended up just sending a brand new back and it arrived today! They had said it could take 2 weeks, so 3 days is very nice. Now I can do my weigh in tomorrow:thumbsup2

That was good customer service from Nintendo!

A big thank you to corinnak who designed the Mickey clippie that won the voting for our official clippie!

Feel free to start using the clippie. I put one in the first post of this thread, too.

I have to confess I am going to miss the summer clippie even though I really like the Mickey one. :goodvibes

Okay...dumb question:

How do I use the clippie?

Thanks!

kathy

never a dumb question. I just figured it out, but can't remember exactly, but this is what needs to go in your signature.

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b16/lisah0711/BL8-clippie-small.gif[/IMG

copy it into your signature under edit signature and after the last IMG put the bracket ] and it should show up. Hope that's clear enough.

Thanks corinnak for the cute clippie, and shannon for being last weeks coach, and welcome Melanie as this weeks coach!!

Congratulations on your weight loss. I think I found 2.10 lbs of it. :sad2:

I don't know if it's because I wasn't really eating while dh was sick and now am eating a little more, or because I have had the gkids this week and have been eating with them or just I'm not trying as hard as I need to. It's probably the last one, hopefully I will do much better next week.
.
Thanks for taking that weight from me. It's so tough to get into a better eating pattern after such a life changing event, so be patient with yourself. Must be fun to have the grandkids for the week, but it is hard to eat healthy too. You will do better next week, you have the right attitude.

I was down 2.2 lbs.
congrats on your loss. I'll be seeing you at the train tour. It sounded like fun, so we're going to go. Thanks for the heads up. I had never been over on the dismeets board.

Well... despite a great week OP and adequate exercise (at least 30 minutes a day 5 days this week) I only saw a modest loss on the scale. But at least it is a step in the right direction.

P
Any loss is a good loss and a good reason to celebrate. I would love the cookie recipe too.
I am down 2.2 for the week - :woohoo: check out my new clippie!!!
:thumbsup2 Nice clippie!! congrats!!

I lost 1.2 lbs this week -- was hoping for something with more of a "wow" factor for the first week, but happy with any elevator going down instead of up! :teeth:
Down is good, and I think anything over a pound is pretty awesome!!

Friday's QOTD:

List the top 5 things that you have always wanted to learn how to do or know more about.
1. photography- I bought a dslr 2 years ago, but haven't done much about using the manual settings.

2. Photo-editing- can only do a little, but would love to learn more.

3. learn spanish, like many others. I've often thought of taking a spanish for healthcare workers, but never do it.

4. ballroom dance

5. American History. I don't remember much of what I learned in school, and now as my son is getting older, it would be nice to add some tidbits when he's learning about something.

I had a gain of .6 this week. Not what I wanted to see after a week of staying on track & getting in my exercise.
 Hang in there. Those daily fluctuations can be so frustrating, but don't let them win.

Well, I'm down a pound. :cool1:
?
 Yay!! good job!!

I was down .5....but for me that was good so I am pleased. I have been at the same number for two months but losing inches so seeing another number was a good way to start the day.
Congrats on the loss!

I did post a loss this week! I was very excited about that!!!

1 week from today I will be leaving to head to DISNEY YAY!!!
Nice job on the loss!! and I'm jealous your on a 7 day countdown!!!

First off I am down 1 lb this week. I am ok with that.
Whoo hoo!! One pound is great!

Did you know that if you eat an automic fireball you drink a lot more water. :rolleyes1 I'll do anything to get in my 8 glasses of water in. :rotfl2:
:rotfl:

:lmao: way to go! did you add an extra cup of water to balance out the alcohol?:lmao: (I'm assuming there was alcohol involved in that):drinking1
I like your kind of fireball better shannon.

I'm up 0.8# this week, but I deserve it. That's what you get when you have pizza for dinner the night before weigh-in!
Pizza will do that. Great job at the grocery store.

After dinner, I found myself scouring the kitchen for something sweet to eat, but there was slim pickins, which is great, so I had a fiberone bar, and came on here. We're going to watch a movie now and have some popcorn.

Have a great night everyone!!

Friday's QOTD:

List the top 5 things that you have always wanted to learn how to do or know more about.

1. Learn to play the guitar.
2. Photo Shop
3. Figure Skate
4. Make disigns on the disign thread
5. Becoming a wedding planner

Still feeling crappy so I may just have to keep my weigh in from today. I did eat though I probably shouldn't have. My DH worked hard on his pulled pork today. I have had my water for the day and did the 2 mile WATP today but that's about it.

kadfjldjflkdsjfld;ksfj;ldasfj!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

No I'm not crazy. I just lost an entire multi post reply. I hate that. Just as I pushed the old send.

Okay, I'm getting over it. :lmao:

One reply I made was to anut4disney (I think). I am proud to see you here right now. Forget next week. We should all be proud. Being here is the thing. It's for life and there are good weeks, bad weeks, days. We all just have keep going.

So congratulations to everyone. Maintaining is success to me. And gaining - well we will all do it on this journey and here's to a new week. :goodvibes

I'm down 2.4. Happy but need to learn how not to make the scale a shrine of good and bad. My lesson.

Dizzy - there is a length limit on signatures, which makes it tricky if you have a list of text. I'm not sure there is a way you to fix it and still keep your list looking like it does. If you remove the carriage returns and separate your trips by commas, you can probably still fit them all, but it won't look the same. The other option would be to save the list as an image in photoshop or illustrator, I suppose! I could help you with that if you wanted to go that route.

My head is spinning from the thread today! Good gracious!

I am also going to miss the Summer clippie (as I will miss the summer!!!) but time marches on and the fall is going to bring many wonderful things!

I lost 1.6 pounds this week and am now within 10 pounds of my stated goal. I earned 44 activity points in the past week as well!

Friday's QOTD:

List the top 5 things that you have always wanted to learn how to do or know more about.

I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn many, many skills and subjects over the years. There are still a few on the list, however:

1. Bartending - the glasses! The mixers! The suggestive names!
2. Hiking the Appalachian Trail - not going to happen unless I can convince my chiropractor to hike with me. I still wanna, though.
3. Play bass in a rock band.
4. Kung Fu - I am resuming lessons in this in just a few weeks - I stopped last year after my concussion.
5. Acrylic Painting - I love to paint and have had a number of classes in color theory, drawing and painting, but I have never really devoted the time to honing my skills. I am taking a class this fall through my city's recreation program. I seem to have lost my old palette knife so I went out and bought a new one today along with some larger brushes. It seems like Oil Painting is more, you know, legitimate, but I don't have the patience for the time it takes to dry or the interest in working with turpentine-like thinners.

So its 930pm and I'm just getting to the QOTD.
I had a terribly stressful day (my horse was injured-he's okay, I think) but on the plus side I did not (as I usually do) ease my stress by eating.

Five things I wish I knew more about? In no special order:
1 electricity - wish I could do all the electrcal stuff around here
2 computers - would like to be a total geek and know all about them
3 speak a second language, being Canadian should be French-Canadien but Portuguese would be great for work.
4 rock climb
5 scuba dive

Possibly not my top 5 - it's just to late to think. Great question though, thankyou Melanie.

1. Learn to Surf
2. Learn more and understand more about current events
3. Learn to take better pictures
4. Learn more about the man - Walt Disney
5. Understand technology a little more

QOTD

1) nutrition
2) travel/cultures around the world
3) investments/retirement plans
4) painting
5) coaching soccer at the highest level possible

Tigger813 - hope you start feeling better soon.

mullysisters - glad your horse is ok and congrats on not eating through the stress :thumbsup2

Friday's QOTD:

List the top 5 things that you have always wanted to learn how to do or know more about.

1. I want to learn sign language. I knew a little when I was younger but not so much now. To be honest I would love to be able to know every language but that's just not possible.

2. I want to travel and see how the rest of the world lives. I'm fascinated by other cultures.

3. I want to learn how to drive a standard, doing this tomorrow but the car is a right hand drive! Pray for me!

4. I want to learn how to be a better public speaker. I'm the 8th grade parent advisor and I run monthly meetings and I get so nervous and I feel like I'm horrible at it! I'm always thinking I sound stupid, no one wants to hear what I have to say. etc etc etc. Not that that particular group is easy to deal with (loads of judgmental people) but I'd like to kick butt and take names instead of sounding dumb. I hate that I feel that way and second guess myself.

5. I want to learn to swim. I don't do water. I'm pretty sure I drowned in a past life or something. Well maybe I don't want to learn to swim, heck I've gone 35 years without knowing I can go 35 more, but I wish I had learned when I was younger.
I would go in a pool in a heartbeat as a teen but now I freak, not totally freak but I run all the horrible things that can happen over and over in my head. Like how would I save my kids if we were in a pool or we crashed in a lake or something. I hate that I have past that fear onto my kids too. None of them can swim and I just can't get past it to sign them up for lessons. Probably because if I do they would want to swim somewhere and I would be helpless to save them if something goes wrong.

And I bet you didn't know you asked such a loaded question! LOL

Thanks for all the support. You guys rock. Today wasn't great in terms of behavior, but I think mentally I was in a better place. I was bitten three times today, but thankfully he never drew blood. (He did put a hole in my favorite skirt though.)

I haven't been counting points like I was planning on. I will at least journal everything, but this week is so crazy! I am going through training for a restraint program, and have had to go til 9:00pm several nights (andI get to school between 6:30 and 7:00am). I have an all day training tomorrow and then go to Worlds of Fun after that to work, and I have to work open to close on Sunday. At least I do a ton of walking there. I put something like 25,000 steps on my pedometer easily. I think that's one reason I haven't gained very much at all even though I was not even within seeing distance of the wagon.

I know it is SAt morning but I had no time yesterday

Friday's QOTD:

List the top 5 things that you have always wanted to learn how to do or know more about.

AM I the only one who doesn't have a list like this. I had always wanted to learn to play the piano so when I was in my 40 I took lessons for about 3 years. I haven't played in years but I did do something I always wanted to.

I guess anything that I want to learn I just do but maybe it is time I started thinking about this.

Thanks everyone for working on the COW this week. Imagine my surprise when I opened this forum and found over 30 pm's. I will post the results on Tuesday with luvbaloo's results.

Yesterday was the first day in a couple of months that I got in my 10000 steps. I was helping sort Boy SCout popcorn for our council so I was moving for 3 hours after work. I was wiped out after that. It was hot and sweaty in the warehouse and I came home and felt lousy. I took my pills along with a multivitamin and got some sleep. I do feel better this morning.

THis is my community service weekend. Today I am going to help my niece with her Girl SCout Gold award. She is doing a blanket day for Project Linus. SHe called last night and was worried that she would not get any blankets done. She has nothing to worry about. Her grandmother has at least 50 blankets ready if not more. I have 25 that I am bringing and if no one show up then I will just sit and sew for the entire day and get a few more done. I have at least 10 tops that need to be quilted.

Well I better get off to shower and drive up to north jersey.

COngrats to all the winners last week. I dropped just a little but this week I am getting ready to commit to more exercise.
