Okay - easy answert to my name - I am simply Dizzy for everything Disney!! Silly but it works!

Mini-goal? Hmmm....how about a clothing item for each 5 lbs lost? In a SMALLER size of course!! (Wish I could say I was working toward looking good on the Podcast cruise....maybe next time though!)

So excited for this challenge and to get to know all of you!

I'm going with a 2-part question today. Since many of us don't know each other, I'll start with something simple: What's the meaning of your DisName? and for part 2: We have all set our own goals for this 14-week challenge, have you got a mini-goal to help measure success along the way? The goal could be a small weight loss, or exercising a number of times in a week, or a belt notch or . . . . .



As you can see, I am so creative. My name is Angie and I live in Florida. My mini goal is to keep exercising 4 to 5 times a week and try to lose at least 3 lbs per month. If I look at it this way, it seems doable.

Steve- Thanks for the links. The Cool Running one looks like it might be easy to follow ( I am sure not easy to do, but it is a start!). I was pretty clueless on how I was going to be able to do a 5K when I can't even run around the block. I walk 3-4 miles 3 times a week, so I should (hopefully) be able to add this into my walk.

I had a challenging moment today. I went to see a friend who's been sick, and picked up a bunch of cookies that I love from a little bakery nearby, and normally, I would have bought extra for me, or opened the container and eaten a few on the way, but I didn't, and really didn't feel tempted. I keep trying to remember that nothing tastes as good as being thin feels, and right now most of my clothes are a little too tight and uncomfortable, so those cookies wouldn't have helped. It is such a good feeling when I am pumped to be on track, I hope I'll remember that in a few weeks as it gets harder. I'm so glad you all will be here to help motivate.

5 minutes of "me time" :scared1:. I am glad we had some notice on this one, now I must go re-arrange the schedule :laughing::laughing:. See, this is why we need you, to realize we do need to put some time aside for ourselves.

Isn't that the truth? Why are we always at the bottom of the list? How can we take care of others when we don't take care of ourselves?

I'm so excited about this challenge :)


My goals for this challenge are:

1. Aim for 1-2 pounds a week.
2. Exercise more
3. Start doing Yoga and Stretching exercises
4. Eat Protein when I eat carbs(try to hit 7g for every 15g of Carb -except veggie carbs) and eat ever 2-3 hours to keep my bloodsugar up.
5. Increase my veggies and fruit
6. Get more sleep - go to bed earlier.

As you can see my DisName is not terribly creative -- my first name, initial of last name and my birthday. I use a little more creative name on WW and sparkpeople 1313Harbor (who knows why this would be a better Dis name?!?)

Right now my minigoal is to lose 3 pounds and get my 15 pound ribbon back. I lost it awhile ago and haven't reclamed it. :upsidedow Then I'll chase my 10% body weight gone goal. Hopefully, those should both come early in this challenge!

It's a good day today already! Today is our 16th wedding anniversary and we are going out tonight as a family -- have a plan for the restaurant :) and I get to work in my son's class for the first time. I love to volunteer at DS' school. It is so different from what I usually do, the kids are so cute and funny, and the teachers are happy to have someone who consistently shows up. Most people are not happy when the lawyer shows up so it is a nice change! :rotfl:

FYI - I just got the app called Lose It!, it was free and it can keep track of your weight, calories burned (excersise), calories consumed and applies it to a goal you set for yourself. I have used it for 2 days and so far, it has helped me visualize and keep track of my how calories are effecting my weight loss.

Is anyone else using this?
 
BL8 initial weigh-in done and reported. I'm up some from BL summer challenge after a week of free dining at WDW!

My screen name (MickeyMagic) was created years ago when I was doing a land and sea package. Mickey for the WDW portion and Magic for the ship.

Mini goals:
1. Exercise at least 5 times a week
2. Eat at least 5 servings of fruits/vegetables a day

My name is pretty boring and it is just my name with disney attached.

I don't really have any rewards planned as such. But my first mini-goal is to fit back into my pants. It has been a few months since they have fit. Moving and injury kept me from working out and for me this is the "glue" if you will that keeps everything together for me.

I picked my name because I have always loved Cinderella. I loved how she made her dreams come true and when I think Cinderella I think Magic Kingdom and how much I love it!! :goodvibes

My goals are also to lose 5 lbs at a time. My first goal is get under 200. There is also a outfit I bought that is too small, so I am going to take pictures in the outfit as I lose weight! See the progress in pictures!!!:yay:

1) My Dis name, pretty simple I guess, I live in NC and love Tinkerbell. :thumbsup2

2) Mini-goals: Well, I always try to set myself up to lose 1 or 2 lbs. a week, but when I don't achieve that I often get bummed and lose motivation. So, this time my mini-goals are to get to the gym 4-5 times per week for cardio and do light-weight training/toning at home 3 -4 times per week. Then, maybe, I can start wearing those pants that are hiding in the back of the closet because they're currently too tight! :)

1. My DisName is in honor of my soulmate - a cocker spaniel - she passed away several years ago & I still miss her each and every day. The 441 is just my house #
2. I never really thought of a mini-goal, but that's a great idea. Sometimes looking at the "big" goal can be quite daunting. So.... my first mini-goal will be get back on track with my daily walking. :thumbsup2

My goal for the program is to lose another 16 lbs (I am already down 14) before our trip 12/11. Each week I try to add interesting new meals so we don't get bored and retreat to old habits. This week was spagetti made with shrimp - yummy, and green chili burritos made with ground turkey and very low fat/ low carb tortillas - also a hit!

1. My DISer name was the result of Girl Scout camp -- we use camper names all week insted of our real names and the theme for that particular year was the Caribbean Islands. I was washing away the gray and noticed the name of the color I was using was Calypso...so I used that as my camp name. When I registered on the DISboards around the same time, I added *a*go-go (can't remember why). I just thought it sounded kind of fun.

2. My goal during this challenge is to lose 12.2 lbs which will get me back down to my low point. My short term goal is to get back to walking everyday again -- even if it's only 20 mins vs. an hour.

Part #2 - My mini goal is to get back to what I was pre-Disney & pre-Vegas which was 162.

1. Well, my user name is pretty predictable - I am a fan of the Minnesota Wild hockey team, then I tacked on my bday at the end, because it is my good luck charm (which is a totally different story).

2. Mini goal - well, at this point I just need to get back in the habit of walking 3x/week, and doing some other exercising the other 2 days. This week's COW will help in the more water/less Coke consumption, also, so I guess that would be a goal of mine.
