I am thankful for the escape from reality to a happy place, be it the movies, a trip, trip planning, or disney song. I love pretending to my son that everything is real when we are there, and if he mentions the characters not being real, I contest it.
Great question Sarah. Thanks for coaching last week, and for all your wonderful qotds.
I'm this weeks coach, and what a great week to be coaching. This is a time for so many to fall off the wagon, such a busy time of year, so many things to do, but we don't have to do that. We can commit to continuing on this healthy path, and if we slip up, overindulge at a holiday party, that's ok. Let's be good to ourselves. We deserve it. We will all have our slip ups, but as long as we're aware of it and get right back on track as soon as possible, we will continue to be healthy.
I'm going to steal Lisa's quote and change it for this morning.
Remember the most important thing is that no matter what happened yesterday, get right back on track today!
What a great quote. One day is such a small amount of time. I know we can eat a lot in one day, but if we start the next day off with a good high protein healthy breakfast, and get some exercise, drink our water, sometimes the the high calorie day can actually help our metabolism kick in, and if we fuel it with the right foods, we can see a loss on the scale.
How did everyone do yesterday on the written plans? I did pretty well. I had an irish coffee instead of pie at the restaurant, but then we came back to my house for a drink and my sister had brought a pumpkin pie, so I had that too, and had some cheese and crackers before dinner, which I didn't plan or need, but I did it.
It was an emotional day, first big holiday without my mom, but overall it was a good day. We had a different routine than our traditional thanksgivings, and that helped. I did not stuff down my emotions with food, so that is a success for me.
I hope I don't repeat any qotds, but if I do, please let me know and I'll do a different one.
Friday's qotd-With the busy holiday season upon us, what can you do to keep on track through the rest of this challenge? What tips can you share for when it's been a crazy day, and you don't have time to cook? Do you have any quick, easy meals to share?
I plan to check in here every day, (easy this week as the coach) and to go to my ww meeting every week, and no matter how much I have to do, I will make the time to stay for the meeting. I will also start most days with some wii fit. I'm going to try and plan meals to make on the weekends that will last through the week. When I don't feel like cooking, we like to go to Panera for dinner, and I get soup and bread, which is lower cal than their sandwiches and salads. It's a healthier choice than fast food, and cheaper than a sit down restaurant.
Hope everyone has a great day and weekend. Anyone going shopping today? I'm on call til 3, but if the boy wants to go out, maybe we'll hit the mall then.
