Good morning everyone This is it. Today is the first day of the challenge so please follow the instructions below.

Don't forget the following from Joanne(JOANNEL)
Please report your weight using the number of pounds ie xxx pounds
If you would like to add your change for the week that is OK ie I lost 2 pounds. Remember weights can be reported in 1/10 of pound increments ie xxx.x pounds.

Please report by midnight Friday
If you are late report as soon as you remember. I know sometimes RL (real life) is more important.

Please PM or email your weekly report to Joanne (JOANNEL )

Now folks, help out a weight keeper here please!! Please report your weekly weight to Joanne by PM or email to jlabbe@sterlingresorts.com . Remember to report by midnight Friday and remember to report in pounds ie xxx pounds (not just I lost x pounds). PrettyPlease!!

I walked for a little bit this morning and since it is nice out I may walk this afternoon. It all depends on dh. He needs some dental work done and I am taking him. So at least I get a day off today. I am going to shower and weigh in.

I'm looking forward to getting this weight off. I worked out 3 times this week, so that is a start. Looking forward to doing more this week.

I PM'd JoAnne also. My first challenge and I'm very excited :goodvibes Will walk at lunch today - 80 degress here today! I'll also walk tonight. I've stocked up on fruit for the day (snacking at work and sitting all day behind a desk are my biggest problems). Good Luck everybody :thumbsup2
 

I am ready. I feel good today. The weather is great and I am going to lose weight with my new friends!! Good luck every one.
 
Good morning.

I'm feeling motivated to stick with ww for this challenge, and to keep up with the exercise. I just got the dancing with the stars exercise dvd, and though I look like a total goofball, I've done it the past two mornings, and am soaked with sweat by the end. Maybe if I keep it up, I'll even be able to follow the steps one day. It's fun too. I used to do a lot of country dancing, and some swing dancing, so a couple of the dances were easier than the others.

Spring is finally here in MA, with get out and move motivation. We can do this!! Good luck everyone!!

I'm so glad Spring is finally here. Went for a walk outside yesterday and it felt so good. Hope to do the same today!

75 degrees in Ohio today....gonna get outside and work in the flower beds.

last night was bad, but today is a new day.
 
I'm in, too, and looking forward to the motivation and challenges here. I took the stairs this morning instead of the elevator! Woo-hoo :)
 
Good morning everyone! I am very motivated for this challenge. I know we all can be superstars!

For exercise this today, I think I will get in a walk outside. Hoping to dodge the raindrops. But for fun today, I am going to see a movie with DH during the day! He has off today and we are going to go see "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". Can't wait!

Oh, and I got some good news yesterday. I talked to my new manager and they want me to do the hospital orientation first before I start, so I get an extra week off!!!!:banana: What a gift! I will have time to finish the multiple projects I am working on!:cool1:

Just to confuse all you new people, I thought I would throw in the first challenge right up front! ;)

Ok so here is our first challenge. I will post a new challenge sometime every Friday. Each challenge week begins 12:01 am Saturday morning and runs till midnight Friday night. I figure posting the challenge on Friday gives you a little time to “plan” out how best to complete the challenge before the clock starts. Please email or PM me your score by Monday morning of the following week. (So tomorrow’s challenge score is “due” the 28th.)

Each challenge will have 5 parts and will add up to 100 points per week. Do as much or as little of the challenge as you wish. They are simply there to give suggestions, not to stress you out. However there is a clippie reward for the person who gets the best score. :thumbsup2
Each week’s challenge will have a theme. This week, we are all about exercise. The following weeks will be food, stress, relationships and summer.


This challenge is on your honor system, be accurate and honest with the points you award yourself :angel:

Exercise
1 Take the quiz at www.realage.com (they send you an email with your score). Discuss with the group what your "real age" is verses your birth age (if you wish to disclose), what you are doing right and what you can do to get your "real age" down. 10 points
2 Try a new activity this week that you have never tried before ( a new gym class, DVD, or piece of fitness equipment) (10 points per new activity- max 30)
3 Take a walk (5 points for every mile walked) (max 35)
4 Take the stairs. This should be intentional stair walking as opposed to taking an escalator or elevator. This is above and beyond the basic stair usage such as walking up the stairs to tuck the kids in bed. Unless you are going up and down the stairs during a commercial break, most stairs in your home should not count :rolleyes1 (1 point for each flight-max 15)
5 Discuss with the group tips on how you fit in activity every day (10 points)



This challenge is meant to motivate you...not to stress you! You may choose to complete one or two of the tasks, or all of them. Let this challenge be want you need it to be.....to CHALLENGE YOU!

The challenge will begin on Saturday 12:01 a.m. April 19 and ends on Friday April 25 at midnight. PM your total points to Raenstorim or email to ferretfeet@gmail.com by noon on Monday April 28

Suggestion – print out the task list and keep it handy to mark off each time you complete one for easy and accurate record

It's wedding weekend for us. Our son is getting married tomorrow so I'm hoping to get my exercise on the dancefloor. I've already told DH that "12oz Curls" (elbow on bar, beer can in hand, raise to mouth, elbow down....repeat...) are NOT considered exercise.:rotfl2:

Good morning everyone!

I am ready to start the challenge today, and have even faced my first "temptation"! My son's daycare had a special "breakfast with your child" today where parents could come in and have donuts, bagels, coffee, etc. with their child. They did also have yogurt and fruit.

I had a serving of orange juice (yes, really just 1/2 cup!) and a few grapes. Then I came to work and had my total cereal with milk - yeay me!

I'm going back to read the challenges now - good luck everyone!
 
I'm tired of riding on this yo-yo that I am on. Up and down all the time! I'm tired of going to bed hungry because that's how I think I can lose weight. I need this BL challenge to change my thoughts and get on the right track.

I am ready to join in the fun. Having a group of others to encourage will be helpful.
My DD uptown_girl44 has already joined, so that is even more incentive.
 
I just did my real age. I will be 50 in June and the test says I am 47.2. So I guess I am a little ahead of the game.

How do I fit exercise in?- My kids are both off in college so it's now easier. I just go to the gym on my way home from work. I make the 5pm class 5 nights a weeks. If I went home I would never get out again.
 
I PM'ed my weight yesterday so I wouldn't forget. I am really excited about losing weight will all these DISer friends. I have a challenge this weekend as we are going to Hershey park on Saturday for my DH's company outing. We always get a hotel room for the night and after the park we come back to the hotel, the kids swim, we order pizza, and drink beer. So I have two big challenges for the weekend: 1. Not eating junk food at the park. 2. Not eating or drinking too much after the park. I know I can get a salad when they order the pizza but usually what happens is that I am sooo hungry from being at the park and not munching out all day that I can't even think about a salad. One thing I have learned with all of my dieting over the years is that if I get really hunger it is very hard for me to make "good choices". I will try to do good but it may be a rough weekend.
