Congrats buddy!! I also am down 0.4 this week. :cheer2: You can do it!!!!

Congratulations to all the losers, gainers, and maintainers. This is so hard sometimes, but not giving up will help us all reach our goals.

whgrn- So glad your surgery went well. Nice job typing with the left hand.:thumbsup2

Vija- hearing about your son breaks my heart, but it sounds like he did just fine yesterday. Isn't this parenting thing the hardest and most wonderful thing you've ever experienced? I used to love that song "you take my breath away." I know I have a 45 of it in my basement somewhere, but nothing to play it on any more. An 80s party sounds like a blast. You'll have to be sure and poof up your hair!!

Have an awesome week everyone!!

:welcome: new LOSERS!!

i was browsing for a dinner recipe and i remembered to share the site http://www.sparkrecipes.com/ i have been using it alot since i'm food-journaling on sparkpeople. i like it b/c there are reviews, and nutritional information

Vija - glad to hear that things are better with DS. It always breaks your heart as a Mommy to see your child suffering inside. Hope things continue to work out. Bus stops can be very nasty places as I've learned with my kids.

Welcome to all our newbies! :flower3:

Well, for the challenge, I won't get a lot of points because I have removed dairy from my diet but I can get points for website sharing.

One of my favorites sites is www.allrecipes.com There are all kinds of alternative recipes on their site and I like reading some of the reviews that people write for alternatives or changing the recipe. As I try to make more vegetable dishes, I've found some great ways of enhance these dishes.

And, this is off topic, but I just need to brag.... DS12 got his karate black belt last week and then to top it off he brought home straight A's on his report card on Monday. He is one of those kids who every mother would love to have - even tempered, sweet, lovable. Hyper (cause of his ADHD) and sometimes frustrating because of it but we get through it.

Late weigh in for me, I worked Monday night and REFUSE to weigh in after being up all night
I am down 2.8 and VERY excited!

I am not real good at the challenges but the continued support has been AMAZING, the WISH board ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

Welcome New Comers

I just graded my last class set of midterms.. I just have two class sets of grades to do and I am done for this marking period.

Congrats to all the losers this week.

DOn't forget that LEnt starts today. Even if you are not Catholic it is a great time to do something for yourself to prepare for spring. I gave up chocolate on Sunday and have not had a piece since Sat. I love dark chocolate and even though I ate small pieces of it is is still hard to give up.

sherris Congrats on having a great kid. We are seeing fewer and fewer of them in the schools these days. My ds2 is a very even tempered young man. Last night was not his night. He got into his first car accident. No one was hurt except his car. He lost the side mirror and has a black mark from the tire of the truck he was next to. They were both turning left and the truck was swinging too wide and ds did not notice until it was too late. On a couple of small scratches on the truck so they just let it go. Ds came home and we thought he was fine until I found him in his room crying. It was just the end of a very long day and his friends are being very dramatic about a lot of things and he takes these things to heart. I am glad he is so concerned about his friends but I wish he wouldn't take their problems on his shoulders. He came down and we talked some more and then he watched Biggest Loser with me like he always does. He was feeling much better this morning. This afternoon we have to find him a red shirt that he can wear to the Valentine Dance on Thursday.

Have to go. Another class is coming in soon then off to dr for a short check up and shopping. Lots to do tonight.

Hello, all! Yesterday got away from me & I didn't get my weight in. After staying the same last week, I'm down .4. Not much, but I'll take it.

DD & I went to a ZUMBA class last night. It was REALLY fun!!! And, I who do not sweat was sweating a bit. Helped me that the instructor was shorter & larger than I am, but boy, could she move those hips!!!!!

Stress here is pretty overwhelming (details in my WISH journal) and to top it off, our van may be breathing its last. UGH!!!! I was REALLY hoping it would make it til fall - AFTER the cruise I really want to take!!! It's in the shop today & only par that it would die just after we spent (not paid the CC yet)almost $700 on brakes, etc. If it is truly dying, it will be donated to a local cancer charity that takes vehicles running or not & either fixes them for cancer patient families to use while receiving treatment here, or sells them for parts - so will be put to good use either way. Just frustrating on top of everything else.

Glad to see everyone is still hanging in there. I was disappointed that they broke up BL last night to show an hour of political stuff (at least here). The 2nd half wasn't even listed - DH just happened to be flipping channels & I caught it.

Have a wonderful, WARM, Wednesday!!

Hope everyone is safe today. The snow is really coming down we had 6 inches 1 hour ago and its been snowing hard. They say we could get up to a foot. I have to work tomorrow about 50 miles south of here so i'm hoping it will quit snowing so they can start clearing the road. On the 530 news they said they are going to stop clearing the roads and start up again later in the night because they cant stay ahead of the snow.

Amanda

Had a pretty good day today. Strayed a little at lunch (there was still cheese ball in the frisge from super Bowl ), but I am back on track now.

Vija - DH and I have thought about having an 80's party also. Sounds SOOO fun!:woohoo:

Wendy - So glad to hear your surgery went well.

we here in Buffalo are getting another side of the storm.... we have gotten probally about and inch of ice. i had to scrape off my car leaving work and then again leaving the gym. there are 10 car pileups everywhere.... everywhere you drive you see a tow truck or an emergancy vechiele. they said when the ice stops then it will turn to snow... so.. that means snow on top of Ice!!! CRAZY!!!
our lights keep flickering so i hope we don't loose power!!

Don't forget to PM me the dates you are going to be in DW so i can make a list!! i have a few of them and will be posting a list soon!!

hope everyone else is safe too!!!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, the Weight Keeper speaks

We started the week with 77 participants. 12 folks have not checked in for three weeks and have been dropped from the challenge. Of course they will be welcomed with open arms if they decide to make a report to me in the future. And we have added 3 newbies.

That leaves 68 current participants. 15 people did not check in for the week. 9 of them have missed 2 weeks, 6 have missed one week. 2 newbies will report their first weight change next week.

51 participants weighed in this week. We had 17 gains, 5 maintains, and 29 losses. This week we had a net loss of 16.7 pounds. That sounds pretty pitiful for 29 losers but remember that is just NET losses. Our actual loss was 46.8 pounds for 29 losers. Not too bad.

Unfortunately our actual gain for 17 people was 30.1 pounds. Not a good week for some folks. Gains ranged from .2 pounds to 4.6 pounds. Yes sometimes life just happens. It is what it is. Stress, TOM, bad choices and of course SuperBowl partying was to blame. If you added to the gain this week don't beat yourself up just pick yourself up and get back on program RIGHT NOW! I know with hard work and better choices you can post a loss next week.

And now (drum roll and fanfare please)

Good Thursday Morning

A quick post before I go to finish my last two sets of class grades for the marking period.

Congrats WEndy on being top loser

COngrats to my buddy Lisa on being in 2nd place.

What a great way to start the morning.

I hope wherever it is snowing it stops soon and they get the streets cleaned quickly. Here in Jersey it was just glorious yesterday and today may be cooler but it still seems like a nice day.

Question of the Day

If it was just you and someone special for just one night, where would you stay on Disney Property?(Castle doesn't count)

The reason for this question is the dh and I will be in DW 1 day before our boys get there and were are debating where to stay.

Have a great losing day everyone. We can do this together.

If it were me I would try the Polynesian. Everyone always raves about it so I'd give it a shot.

QOTD- I have always wanted to stay at the Grand Floridian, so I would pick that as a romantic getaway, (if I had someone to romance me). If I could pick any where to stay with my special little boy, it would be animal kingdom lodge.

Congratulations Wendy!!!! :cool1: You are the Biggest Loser!!!!:cool1:

Congrats to all our top ten losers!!!!!  Keep up the awesome work everyone!!!!

QOTD - Poly in a heartbeat! We have Pop Century budgets with Poly Dreams!

Congrats to all the losers this week :cheer2: !! Hope to join you next week!!!

Congratulations Wendy!!!!

I'm so happy. I made the top 10 for the second time.

QOTD - I think it would be the Grand Floridian. For some reason, I just don't picture kids being happy there and it is so pretty, at least from the outside. I've never been inside. If you don't want a deluxe, we stayed at CSR on our last trip and it was really pretty there, especially, if you can get a good water view of the lake.

Congratulations to all the winners, ahem, losers! And a special big:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: to Wendy. What a week for you to soar. Fantastic. Great feeling. Hope you are doing well, Wendy.

And a :rotfl2: and a :dance3: and a:cheer2: for me! :rolleyes1 I am a tad surprised but I'll certainly take it. I almost fell off my chair. Thanks for your thoughts Dona. Appreciate it. Yes, it might be a tad tacky to congratulate myself with jumping icons but hey I need all the help, aka me supporting me, that I can get. We really need to be our own cheerleaders, that's for sure. This is it.

Thanks for all your work Brenda. Have a wonderful week everyone.

Congrats to our top ten and our biggest loser of the week. Way to go guys!

Question of the Day

If it was just you and someone special for just one night, where would you stay on Disney Property?

This would be a hard one. It would be a toss up between the Contemporary or the Grand Floridian. Even though we honeymooned at the Grand Floridian and I loved it I think I would opt for the Contemporary with a Magic Kingdom view. Magical!
