:sad1: :sad2: I'm back at the weight I started at. ARG! And I thought I had been doing really good last couple weeks. I've been tracking, exercising consistently, making healthy food choices, getting in my water..... There must be some hidden problem that I'm not realizing. I'll go back through my food journal, and this next week be really very careful to weigh and measure everything.

:headache: Up .5 lbs today. Yuck. But I kind of expected it between Super Bowl eating, being home with sick kiddos much of last week (munch, munch, munch) and, well, 'tis almost a fun time o' the month. TMI. Sorry.

Bummer.

But not giving up!!!

Hope everyone else is good!

Home sick today, so very brief post for me.

Only down .2 today - ate too many gluten-free onion rings this weekend! Will try to do better next week.

Congrats to all the losers!

Susan

I am down 1.6

Princess Vija- I know what you are going through and I know how your son feels he is a very brave boy!! Hang in there..

Wendy- Good luck today!!

Well, I just finished observing the bus stop and it broke my heart. The group of kids were huddled together, and DS is off on his own clearly not part of the group. I really feel bad for him. Is it worse to be bullied, or ostracized and ignored?:confused3 They are essentially the same thing I guess. Well, I have offered to drive DS to school and he has always said no. I wonder if he will reconsider the offer now. I am proud of DS for going to the bus stop today and that shows he has a lot of courage!:thumbsup2

 And a big :thumbsup2 to DS for being so brave and resilient. What strong character your son has. You must be a very proud mama.

I am down this week which is good.

Vija, I know it may not seem like it but this too will pass. DS and DD both have been bullied in the past but they have learned to stand up for themselves and they are in a much better place. You might also want to talk to the school about the situation at the bus stop just so they are aware. They may have a policy to help defuse some of the situation, so it can't hurt to turn to them.

Wendy, I hope your surgery goes well.

I'm down 1 lb today!! to that brings my total to 10!! woooo hooo!!! I was hoping for more i've really been kicking it up at the gym. and soon i will be getting a trainer. So hopefully i will loose some more.

Congrats to all the loosers out there!!

Vija-- i was bullied all through middle school... its actually one of the reasons my dad decided to move.. and that made me happy. Now i'm a teacher and i hate seeing it in my classroom or around the school. I hope that everything works out!!!

Don't forget to PM me all of your dates that you guys are going to DW. I'm going to make a list this way we can see if any of us will be down there at the same time!!
Have a good week!!

I'm down just .5 lbs this week. I didn't work out like I should of though last week so I'm thinking that is the reason for not losing much this week. Plus TM was this weekend and I'm just getting over that. Oh well a little loss is better than a gain.:goodvibes

surgery was:thumbsup2 not much pain, feeling a ok:)

thanx so much for prayers and good wishes.

congrats to all the losers :woohoo:

 to gainers and maintainers

you all are the best

Ugh, I am up 4 pounds. I didnt weight in until tonight so i'm sure that didnt help. I am so stressed at work and i didnt eat well this weekend. Well i'm back to eating right, logging what i'm eating and thinking about why i'm eating.

Amanda

I am up a pound this week :headache:
I've got to start a downward trend again :sad2:

Congrats to the losers :thumbsup2 ... to everyone else

Everyone is rejuvenated (or daydreaming?) after a few days off of challenges.....so I present to you Weekly Challenge #4 …this one focusing again on nutrition!

Here is how it works; below you see a list of ‘tasks’. For the next 7 days you are challenged to complete as many ‘tasks’ as you can. Each one is valued at 5 pts each. During the 7 days of the challenge, keep record of a completed tasks and at the end of the week turn in your final total score to PRINCESS VIJA. For example, task #3 -- drinking your water daily -- this is a one time task and you must complete it entirely to award yourself 15 pts. However, task #5 –
Incorporate 2 new whole grain items into your diet this week– is possible to complete this task more than once. Tasks that can be completed multiple times are marked with maximum points.

This challenge is on your honor system, be accurate and honest with the points you award yourself. After all, if you cheat you are only cheating yourself from forming healthy eating habits :cheer2: :cheer2:

  1. Share with your buddy or on the weekly thread by posting your favorite website to research and learn new ways to cook healthier, give a brief summary on why you like it -- max 15 pts (1 website posted = 5 pts; 2 websites posted = 10 pts; 3 websites posted = 15 pts

  2. 5 a day -- 5 servings of fruits/vegetables -- max 5 pts; confused on what counts as a serving? Refer to US government food pyramid site

  3. 3 servings of milk or dairy product daily -- max 35 pts (milk equivalent products are fine if you have food allergies or lactose intolerance) -- 5 pts for each day of 3 servings consumed

  4. Are you on track with your water? Drink at least 8 glasses of at least 8 oz. of water daily -- 15 pts for drinking your water all 7 days

  5. Incorporate 2 new whole grain items into your diet this week -- (5 pts when you have consumed 2 new-to-you whole grain products; max 15 pts (2 servings= 5 pts; 4 servings = 10 pts; 6 servings = 15 pts) -- give everyone a food review on new foods :thumbsup2

  6. Eat beans/legumes at three meals this week -- (5 pts when you have consumed 3 meals which include a serving of beans/legumes points awarded per meal not amount of servings per meal; max 15 pts; 3 meals = 5 pts; 6 meals = 10 pts; 9 meals = 15 pts) Let's go by the US goverment food pyramid for eligible beans:

    Dry beans and peas:

    black beans
    black-eyed peas
    chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
    falafel
    kidney beans
    lentils
    lima beans (mature)
    navy beans
    pinto beans
    soy beans
    split peas
tofu (bean curd made from soy beans)
    white beans

    bean burgers:
    garden burgers
    veggie burgers
    tempeh
    texturized vegetable protein (TVP)

This challenge is meant to motivate you...not to stress you! You may choose to complete one or two of the tasks, or all of them. Let this challenge be want you need it to be.....to CHALLENGE YOU!

The challenge begins on Wednesday Feb. 6 at 12:01 a.m. and ends on Tuesday Feb. 11th at midnight. Your final score must be reported in by Wednesday Feb. 12th at noon (EST) in order to be included in the team score.

Suggestion – print out the task list and keep it handy to mark off each time you complete one for easy and accurate record

I hope you all enjoyed the first challenges and incorporating some new healthy habits into your routine :cheer2: :cheer2:

THank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes regarding DS. He came home and he said that all was well at the bus stop. So we will keep monitoring the situation.

Now for fun... I posted this on the CB, but I thought you would appreciate it as well.

We dug out my old records from the 80's, and played them on the 'ole record player. We had so much fun. The kids knew some of the songs, but others made them speechless!:confused3 :lmao:

We danced around a bunch, and I even got DH to slow dance with me to Rex Smith's "You take my breath away"!!!

We had so much fun that we decided we are going to have an 80's party sometime!
:dancer: party: :rockband:

Well I am bumming as I gained and gained big due to TOM, which I had not had again for several months and I am on prednisone. I know next week it will all be gone plus some but it does not feel very good right now.:sad1: Congrats to all of you who have lost this week...way to go! We are all winners here for posting and trying to get healthy!

Hi all! I have been reading many posts on the WISH boards for a while now and decided it was time to join up and make some healthy changes in my life.

A bit about me - I was a stay-at-home mom for 12 years with my four beautiful children. During my last year at home I joined a weight loss group through my local community health centre and lost 27 lbs in about 4 months. Then I got a job - not one I was particularily fond of, but it paid for our first trip to WDW so I will be grateful for that. The bad side of working was I let all my new, healthier habits slip in favour of quick and convenient. Weekends I used to spend hiking and biking with the kids were now for laundry, shopping and sitting on the couch. Homemade meals were replaced by convenience (aka unhealthy) foods. I gained back the 27 lbs (plus a couple more just for fun). Deciding my health and sanity were more important than the paycheque (and having paid off Disney!) I handed in my resignation before going on our trip in December.

I forced myself to be in the photos at WDW with my kids - but I didn't want to. I went on most of the rides with the kids - but dreaded it every time, worried that my *** wouldn't fit! (It always did, thank heavens!)

The kids and I want to go back to WDW in two years and I don't want these same feelings to overshadow our vacation, so I'm getting back on track now instead of waiting until the last moment and then throwing up my hands and saying "Well, there's no point in trying now, I can't lose the weight in three months!".

I've posted my goals for February on the appropriate threads - 10 lbs and 400 minutes of exercise, and sent my starting weight to Brenda. Now I just need some advice and support! I look forward to getting to know everyone, their hopes, goals and challenges, over the next few weeks.:goodvibes

Anita
