Good Morning

First off - A Big Way to Go to Vija. :thumbsup2 What an inspiration. I am looking forward to reading all about your journey to the Black Belt. You will do it. :goodvibes

Question of the day: I have no secret, I have my good nd bad days but lately I have been trying really hard to live in the moment and appreciate all the good in my life and not dwell on the would of, should of, could of's. I'm realizing those get me nowhere.

So I'm moving on on this weight loss thing and really enjoying my time with the disboards.

I am really looking forward to this week's challenge :yay: Great Idea :thumbsup2

What are your secrets for feeling fulfilled and happy every day?

Laundry and Dishes!

Had ya going for a minute there didn't I :lmao: :lmao:

Knowing that my family loves me pretty much does it for me.

Well, being away from home is a good start!:rotfl2:

Seriously, though, like a previous poster said, I try to let things go instead of letting them bother me. Every day I get up and give the day to God, and trust that He will get me through it. Too often, I try to take it back and handle it myself:lmao: but that never works! I used to stew forever over the littlest things, and was a pretty miserable person. Since I stopped doing that, I'm much happier.

Have a happy day everybody!

Question for all. I am trying to make good food choices when eating out. I ordered a chicken ceasar salad at Olive garden. I looked it up on Calorie King when I got home and it said it was over 900 calories!!!! Is that possible?

Made rice crispy treats and mudddy buddies for the college kids last night and didn't eat any!!!! You don't know how hard thet is for me. So if I can get through until Monday it will be a miracle.

QOTD- I like my job, co workers, neighbors. Compared to what goes on in this world- I love my boring little life!!!!! My last job was very stressfull and I worked a ton of overtime, ony to be laid off when they moved my job to nashville. I will never work that hard again!!!!! It sure taught me a good lesson.

Have a great Friday!!!!!

Isn't it crazy how much "better" it makes you feel while you are doing it? Only to feel sad and guilty later...:sad2:

Well, I have to tell myself what's done is done. If I'm good the rest of the week and over the weekend, I should still have a loss Tuesday, but it is just so hard for me to pick myself back up again.

It happens to the best of us! I broke down yesterday and gave into a craving that turned out to be a worse choice than I thought. Luckily, I found that out soon enough to minimize the damage and only ate half, but I still had the guilt. Today is another day though and we'll both make better choices!

I have to tell you guys, I am nervous! :scared: I am actually starting TaeKwonDo tonight!!!!

You can do this! I am so inspired by your jumping in to just do it. No delays, just a brave step towards a better future. It will be such a boost to your exercise and weight loss too. Congratulations on taking such a big and brace step.

First of all, congratulations to all the winners this week! Great job!

Just totalled up my points for the challenge last week and I did pretty well. I realized I could've done better with new fruits and vegetables but there aren't many I haven't tried that my grocery sells. I did buy some others but just never got to eat them. I am having trouble with feeling hungry in the evening time. Last night, I had a cup of hot tea and that helped. I need to focus more on getting my crafting out in the evening - I have a quilt that needs to be finished and an afghan that I'm crocheting. They are great winter projects and I need to start working on them.

Question of the Day?

What are your secrets for feeling fulfilled and happy every day?

Today isn't a good day for this one. I'm sore from shovelling snow last night. The kids have a 2 hr delay this morning and I'm supposed to be working (I work from home). My brain is in a fog.
Last year was not a good year for us - my mother died at the end of March and DH was diagnosed with kidney cancer in September. He developed another problem after that surgery and it had been a long, long 3 months of recuperation from 2 surgeries. Thankfully, all the cancer is gone.

SO, my secret is trying to be thankful for what we have and that we need to try and live happy, healthy lives.

Oh - and thanks for this week's challenge. Exercise is my downfall and trying to fit it in is always a problem. Never know when to fit it in. Now, I have to sit down and actually think about it.

Question of the Day?

What are your secrets for feeling fulfilled and happy every day?

For me it is journalling. A number of years ago I was having a really really bad day at work. I felt that there wasn't anyone I could turn to and I was feeling that I was part of the problem. :guilty: So I started writing down what frustrated me. It really helped. I then went out and bought a 2 subject notebook. I use the back for journalling. I don't write every day just when I can or when I really need to. When something goes right I write it down, when something goes wrong, I write it down. I write down recaps of my weekends and our trips. I write down when I've walked, or worked out or went to the doctor. Just all the little day to day things. I also take time to write down my blessings. What I have in my life that I am so thankful for.

The front of the book is for budgeting, trip planning, day dreaming. Sketchy plans for our next trip, then firmer plans and packing lists as it gets closer, budgets for the trip etc. Plans for trips that may or may not happen years from now.

So here is what keeps me happy. When I'm having a bad day I write it all down, get the anger and frustration out, and then read my blessings and look at my dreams. Puts it all in perspective. When I'm having a good day I write about what is making me happy and why I feel accomplished. That helps give me an even further boost.

Over New Years I was home and cleaning up the computer room and found some of my notebooks from 3-4 years ago. It was fascinating to go back and see what frustrated me then...most of those frustrations are gone. I also look at some friendships I had then that have since fallen apart but I still have good memories to look back on and I know that I did everything I could.

Sorry for rambling on. This is really something I feel strongly about and I love sharing it with others.

Question of the Day?

What are your secrets for feeling fulfilled and happy every day?

Hmmm...that's a tough one. I guess one thing is reading. It seems like I have a pretty good day if I get a chance to sit down and read even just for a little while. Without that, my day feels to hectic.

Thank you for all of the support and encourgement, you guys are the best!:thumbsup2 This morning I woke up and was a little sore, but not bad, so I got up and did my WATP tape! :cool1: I felt very proud of myself for getting up and keepin' movin'!

After I dropped DD off at school, I was heading home and on came a great song (I can't even remember the name of it) but it was a great song from the 80's with great music, the tears just started rolling down my face. I kept going past my street, cranked the music way up, and went for a little joy ride, crying the whole time.... They were tears of joy and pride in myself, also tears of thankfullness as I thought of all the people pulling for me, wanting me to succeed, and caring about me. It was a very peacefull, calming moment, one that I am sure I will treasure.

Good Friday morning everyone.

Question of the Day?

What are your secrets for feeling fulfilled and happy every day?

Hmmm, I have to think on that. I think I really feel happy when I can come on the DIS and connect with people. Somedays I am mostly lurking, other days I am posting a bunch. I also love to dream and imagine about our upcoming trips.

I feel fulfilled when I get projects done and do things for my family. I don't always get to my projects, and beat myself up when I don't. This question is almost a wakeup call to get going on some of those projects.

At night, we do our bedtime prayers as a family. One thing we started was at the end of the prayers we go through and say things we are thankful for that happened that day, or things in general. That is a great way for us to connect as a family, and I love hearing what everyone has to say. That brings happiness and contentment.

And I have to say I especially feel happy when my kids tell me they love me!:lovestruc And lately they have been telling me how proud they are of me!:thumbsup2

For me, I feel really happy after I go to the gym. I feel so good about myself after a good session on the treadmill and when I feel the accomplishment of how strong I felt lifting weights, doing pushups, etc etc. It really does make me feel fulfilled and happy--and strong and beautiful! :goodvibes

Another thing that makes me feel really happy in life is spending time in the outdoors. Whether it's taking a hike, going out on the lake in a kayak, or even a long walk into the fields and woods with the dog. There is just something that makes me feel so alive and happy with myself when I spend time enjoying the fresh air and nature. It really completes me somehow. :sunny:

Just made bad choices at lunch.......My company had a lay off this morning. Two of my good friends are gone. One didn't take it well. So I ate way too much......ugh. SO I will work harder at the gym tonight. But now I have to do two jobs!!!!!!

Have a good Night!

JOANNEL, sorry you had such a lousy day, the emotional eating can certainly take a toll on us. hugs to you! work off some of that stress/ grief/ frustration at the gym!!!

PLEASE PM your challenge points to me ASAP!

I only have 25 challengers responding. I will post the results of our first challenge before I go to bed tonight. PLEASE if you forgot, and I posted the results already, still send in your points, because I will do a tally for the highest overall point earner at the end of the Biggest loser challenge as well!

Joanne -- I am so sorry you had such an upsetting morning and that your workload just doubled. Sending you a hug, kiddo!

So i made it through the whole week with going to the gym for at least and hour.... i made it through 2 Kwando classes being able to keep up with everyone!! and going on the eliptical for 35 min is getting easier...I think i have gotten into a pattern for my workouts! Now my question to my fellow lossers....Is it better to eat before of after you work out???

Not a fun day! I totally understand the emotional eating. I know that you'll make better choices for the next meal so just leave this behind you. Also, a few :grouphug: for the lousy day and increased workload.

Question of the Day?

first -I really am a morning person and it starts off well if I get right up (M-F) - grab a cup of coffee and then I head to the computer - I have a motivational quote arrive in my e-mail every morning and most days it is something that makes me "think"- Next, I head to my church's webpage which has a daily devotional (related to the previous week's sermon message) and a reflection written by a lay person - spend a few minutes in praying/talking to God - about what I have just read, thanking Him for his love, about the day.

and then I usually check the DISboards and then "drag" myself to exercise and then what really makes me HAPPY is that I can get all that in and be at work ON TIME - new rule in 2008 - "late for work" too many times is punishable with a written reprimand in your file - WHAT - I feel like I should have a reward for getting up, getting my "stuff" done and a by-product of getting there right on the "dot" should be "applause and maybe a cheer or two" even - not a stinking check-mark and so many gets me a "reprimand" in my file :rotfl2:

Seriously, fulfilled, for me is that I have the opportunity to work with a group of single-moms, mentoring and just trying to be supportive, the best I can. My life is so full of blessings that fulfilled is sharing - some of what I have with others, the best way I can.

 Joanne - been there a few too many times. Both being layed off and also watching others around me being layed off and picking up extra work. Hang in there!

I'm so excited! I told my buddy in pm (Hi Jana :wave2:) that my plan was to work out each evening after work. Since I've been doing the 2 mile WATP I said I was going to put the 3 mile walk on and if I felt strong enough I'd do that for the extra minutes. I'm proud to report I did the whole 3 mile walk tonight.

I don't think I would have done it this soon if it wasn't for the challenge! Woo Hoo!:yay:
