Biggest Loser 4 Week 10 -- CHALLENGE POSTED pg 2 post #19

Thanks Dona! I'll have hubby pick up some flaxseed on his way home tonight.:thumbsup2

According to Dr. Oz (Oprah) you have to grind the flax seed or your body won't digest it.
Hope that helps

Congrats to all the losers and to every one else.

Annette

No wonder that I'm not losing weight- I got 13 on the quiz (haha)

Annette

I am a big dummy when it comes to nutrition. Several years ago a friend was amazed that I did not know what a protein was. :rotfl: I was amazed that I got a 13 out of 19:confused: ! I agree with what others said about needing more information. For example, how was I supposed to know about burger, they did not specify lean!?

I took the quiz. 16 out of 19, although I disagree with some of their premises, and thought "not enough information given" was probably the right answer to about half of them. "It depends" was a better answer for about half, too.

I totally agree! I got 11 out of 19, and I think some of them were VERY vague.

I did the nutrition quiz and boy do I need to smarten up. I thought I had more knowledge than just 6 out of 19. I see the Prevention magazine at work at the outpatient pharmacy, maybe I shoudl pick one up occasionally.
Hope everyone else does better than me.

Other parts of the challege look great.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, the Weight Keeper speaks

We started the week with 57 participants. 1 loser has rejoined us and 4 folks have not checked in for three weeks and have been dropped from the challenge. Of course they will be welcomed with open arms if they decide to make a report to me in the future.

We are now at 54 current participants. 24 people did not check in for the week. That is 42% of our participants. 12 of them have missed 2 weeks, 12 have missed one week. Our lost loser will report her weight change next week.

29 participants weighed in this week. We had 6 gains for 7.1 pounds, 5 maintains, and 18 losses totaling 45.6 pounds. Our dropped members took 11.3 pounds from our cumulative loss which is now 438.3 pounds.

Now I had a dilemma this week that I took liberties with calculating. I had a report from a person for the first time in three weeks. They lost during the three weeks but I did not feel it would be fair to treat that loss the same as a loss recorded for one week. One third of their loss did not qualify them as a superstar so that person was not named to the top ten.

With only 18 losses this week the odds of getting into the top ten is very good again. Let's see who made it this week.

Congratulations Molli!!! I'm so glad it is your week to shine. We appreciate all you do for our Biggest Loser challenge. We love our wonderful clippies and appreciate all the work you put into making our weekly challenges fun.

Lisa, last weeks Biggest Loser, must now give up the clippie. I have missed her around here recently but I believe she may be at WDW. Only one loser may reign at a time.

Congratulations to all our superstars. I did not make it this week and I know why. I am the one who holds the fork and controls what goes into my mouth. How about you? How did you do this week? Do you know why you are where you are? What can you improve to get to where you want to be. Do you need encouragement? Then call on your buddy or post on the weekly thread. We are here to help each other to develop healthy habits and reach our weight loss goals.

We are now in week 10 and at the end of the week we will be 2/3 through the challenge. I will start working on lists of how we are doing at the 2/3 point. I am very concerned about our non reporters but am very proud of those that are sticking things out. To be successful we need to keep working hard even when it is difficult. Sometimes I think it is difficult EVERY day, but some days are better than others and the more healthy habits we work to develop the easier it will be.

Hang in there Losers. I want to hear from you next week and you could be a superstar!

Have a healthy day!

Congratulations to my buddy
Superstar Amanda!!!

Amanda you are my inspiration. How do you do it?

I am so proud of you. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for being there for me even though I don't keep in touch like I should.

Amanda, you are amazing!!

some of you may know that a couple of weeks ago, DH's dad passed away at the not very old age of 64. He would have been 65 tomorrow. It has been very hard on all of us as it was completely unexpected.

Well, this afternoon my MIL had a heart attack and is in the hospital. DH is, of course, a mess, as is the rest of the family. MIL was diagnosed with congestive heart failure a couple months ago and just had several stints put in in January. So we are waiting tto hear why/how this could have happened, where to go from here, etc.
I would really appreciate any prayers we could get for MIL's recovery and her to have the strength to get through her heart problems and the loss of her husband.

Thanks for listening.

Laura

Laura, I hope that your MIL makes a full recovery.

Congrats to all of the losers this week.

I'm limping back to bed now. Whose bright idea was it to start running again? Oh yeah...mine.

Good Thursday morning

Laura your family is in my prayers. My grandmother's birthday is March 10th and she diedd a half an hour before her 87th birthday. The beginning of March is always a little sad for me and she has been gone for 11 years.

It is bright and sunny here in Jersey this morning. The sun was up and I didn't even have to put my lights on before I drove to school. More rain for tomorrow but I will take the sun today.

Congrats to the top 10 winners. I can't believe that I made it into the top 10 this week. Congrats to my buddy Lisa

Ds's play starts up again tonight. 4 more shows to do and it is all over. The only cast party is the one Sat after the show on the stage. They will not have a final wrap up dinner like they usually do. It seems very strange this year.

Last day of state wide testing here at the high school. I can't wait for the craziness to be over.

Have a lot to do today. On top of the crazy schedule we have this week Progress Reports are due before we leave today. I still have some grades to do before I can do the progress reports so I bet get to work.

Have a magical losing day pixiedust: pixiedust:

wow, i literally did a double-take :teeth: Yay! for me!

i hope this keeps me straight this weekend ::yes:: i will be gone all day Sat and Sun

cyber high five's to the top LOSERS!

Congrats to everyone! I was excited and surprised to see myself in the top 10!

Laura - my prayers for you and your family.
