Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

I'm rooting for Mike all the way. He seems like a genuinely nice kid, who cares about others while trying to do what is best for himself. In my opinion, he is the most mature one there.

Couldn't agree more! Amazing that an 18/19 y/o has it together more than an entire group of adults. Go Mike!! :cheer2:

I also agree with you on Tara. I can not stand self-centered people.

More info from Jillian Michael's podcast. I am listening to her 2/22 podcast and she said that the contestants went home THAT day.

I didn't like that challenge. It was way too personal. Tara does bug me sometimes because she is acting too full of herself adn for the first time last night I strongly disliked Aubrey. That whole trying to talk to Tara thing when Tara asked to be left alone really ticked me off. I can totally understand that Tara would want to just give up. She is putting a ton of pressure on herself all the time and she has not changed her way of thinking to a more healthy forgiving one yet. I was so proud of Laura for her attitude with Tara and helping her see that she needed to work through it. You could see last night why they are friends.

As for Ron loading the weight on Helen....grow up!! How does it affect you who chose what trainer? And Mike...flipping a coin.....uh uh. I don't believe that for a minute. That boy is smart and no I bet he didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings AND knew that his dad would hassle him for switching to Jillian, but I think that is just what he did. He has lost weight better with Jillian and she treats him like a team member not a little boy.

I agree with the previous poster who said that they wonder if Kristin is realizing she made a mistake. Bob is all talk when it comes to treating his team equally. He is totally won over by the blue boys and she is NOT going to be as much of a priority to him. Which is sad. I really like her and I wish she had switched to Jill. I think Jill would get her more than Bob ever can.

Poor Aubrey. I am sure that moms all across the country can relate to the distractions of kids and how incredibly hard it is to put yourself first.

I saw Jillian on The Doctors today. She said that her clients take Medamusal (sp?) for fiber and makes you feel fuller. She said some people also feel bloated from the foods they eat so it helps them there too.

So I guess they do supply it to the contestants.:confused3 Haven't seen it as a placement ad yet though. :rotfl:

Metamucil is not a laxative though - it's just fiber.

The guy who wrote the South Beach Diet recommends it as well - it gets you extra fiber, which is better for your cholesterol levels, and also makes you feel fuller so you don't eat as much.

Eating high fiber foods will accomplish the same thing.

I never had the stuff before but wouldn't it have the same affect?:confused3 The more fiber the more you go.....

Well, kinda...they both make you go...but a laxative will clear you right out - and I think usually rather quickly - whereas the fiber works with your body, so you will go eventually, just like if you ate fiber rich foods.

I think Metamucil is psyllium husks....but it's been so many years since I worked in a pharmacy that I don't completely remember. :)

I finally got to see the show from two weeks ago (the one where everybody went home for a week). I missed last week's show. It's maddening reading this and trying to put together the pieces of what happened! :rotfl:

I really like Tara and want either her or Mike to win. Yes, Tara sometimes come across as full of herself, but I think it is simply confidence. I think compared to some of the others (especially the Tonga boys) she really isn't that bad. Don't forget that a lot of it is editing. I wouldn't be surprised if all the contestants have similar comments but they are showing Tara's more. She works her butt off all the time and there does seem to be some real sour grapes from Bob's old team. From what it sounds like happened this past week, I'm not surprised she took it personally. I would be offended too.

I lost all respect for Helen with the cookie stunt. I can't imagine how that must have felt to Tara. To be so close and lose that money because somebody was that petty. Yeesh.

Mike is such a neat kid. It's amazing how great he looks now. I'm really torn between him or Tara. I'm glad that he chose to stay with Jillian by the sounds of it. Jillian may be harsh sometimes, but she has great results and really helps the contestants mentally as well as physically.

Actually fiber can constipate you. most think it males you go, but only a certain kind and certain amounts. I know all this becuase my mom has some digestive type problems and she was eating all this fiber..long story short she was always constipated because she at too much and not all of it was the good kind. She actually had part of her colon removed and now has to really watch that she gets the right amount...not too much or too little.

I am sacred I am heading down that same road. Fiber constipates me alot. I think more than the average person. LOL!

what a lovely topic.

today is the day. Do you think Ron will go home because of medical issues? (though I think he should have gone home a long time ago)

I feel the same way. I wish him well but he should have gone home a while ago. I don't despise him the way other people seem to but I think he's obviously not going to win so it's time for him to be out of the way.

I watched last week's episode and now I am watching this week. I regained some respect for Helen after the boys sent her the "message" about switching teams. I lost all respect for the entirety of Bob's current team. What *********.

I understand why Tara was upset. I would have been too. It wasn't that they added the weight, it was how they did it. I am so glad that Laura talked to her and that she won immunity and really showed them.

Who's hoping Nicole stays on campus? I'm a little confused though. I thought Dan survived long enough to bring Dave back and Dave was the one who got them kicked off. I kind of think his partner deserves the second chance, not him.

Nicole is a beautifull soul, she will do great at home. I wish they would have voted Ron off. And I just loved when Sione & Kristen were talking with Bob & said to Kristen if you get below the line with mike you know where Ron vote is going, well if she gets below the yellow line with one of the blue boys who's the other one gonna vote for, duh so, isn't that the same thing.

Kae

I thought they should have given Nicole another chance. But if anybody can make it at home, she has. I bet she gets the home prize. She was incredible! Part of me wishes Ron had gone home, and another part of me agrees that he shouldn't be penalized for being in the hospital.

Anybody think that she waterloaded and overdid it?

I knew it was going to go that way because she was a bigger threat. I think the stress got to her. She had all these people coming at her.

I thought it was funny that all the contestants didn't come back like last time. Just the three that were sent home early. :confused3

Allison came back after only 6 days of having the baby. Wow. I read that but just amazes me. I think she said on her blog she went back on Days after 8 days.

How about that voting? Sione, Felipe and Helen voting for Ron.

And then Ron with the lying to your face comment.

The obvious choice was to vote off Nicole, duh. So I consider the voting for Ron to be a slam back to him.

The glare he gave Helen was priceless.:lmao:I guess he forgot how funny he was loading the weight on her scale on the prior challenge.

I have to say this the weight loss on these people does not seem "stellar" compared to other seasons. I wonder why.

I thought Michelle was great as a host. I like Ali and have seen her on QVC however she was very robotic reciting the lines.

Oh and congrats to Alison Sweeney. I was wondering when that was going to happen.:yay:

I was happy to see Alison come back because it just seemed so odd to have a different person there. Nobody should look that good 6 days after giving birth though. It's inhuman to look that good 6 days after giving birth.

I wish Dan could have come back, not Dave.

It was weird to see Kristen complaining that Ron is working for Mike. Did she just suddenly realize that?

I think some of the votes were targeted toward the biggest threat, some targeted toward breaking up the teams. There will probably be plenty of chances to vote off Ron. No hurry there.

Regarding Kristen, I say yes. I think she is a nice girl and absolutely did not understand the total game play.

The vote for Ron was not meant to vote off however it was to send a message.

I bet that a combination of the stress and the water that is pushed at the ranch did her in. Did you notice that she lost that 5 lbs and 18 more pounds when she went back home?!?! Wow. I liked that the brought back the contestants whose partners were eliminated in that first month.

Allison came back after only 6 days of having the baby. Wow. I read that but just amazes me. I think she said on her blog she went back on Days after 8 days.

Wow. She is incredible! I was shocked to hear that she had given birth the night of the previous weigh-in. What a trooper ... working right until she popped and then right back to work. And looking great too! Part of me admires her but the other part thinks that she makes the rest of us mothers look bad!

How about that voting? Sione, Felipe and Helen voting for Ron.

And then Ron with the lying to your face comment.

I was confused about the "lying to your face" comment because I was fast-forwarding through the show. Was there a comment in the previous discussion that I missed? Or was he commenting on his alliance?

I thought Michelle was great as a host. I like Ali and have seen her on QVC however she was very robotic reciting the lines.
I liked them both. I didn't know Michelle because I didn't watch last season. Did anyone else think that Ali's bra and/or dress was too tight? She is skinny and she had bra rolls in back! As for Ali's personality ... I did think she was a bit wooden but I felt she was genuine when she told David and Estelle that their weight loss was just a start and that they could do it. She was more of a cheerleader that Allison ever is ... I am annoyed by Allison's slightly sour "disappointed" face when someone fails.

Regarding Kristen, I say yes. I think she is a nice girl and absolutely did not understand the total game play.

The vote for Ron was not meant to vote off however it was to send a message.

Yup. I agree. I think that they know that Ron needs to go soon. NOT that he is a particular threat but that he is a "dead weight" vote for a very serious contender. The same could be said for Laura.

I liked Nicole and I think she's going to do really well at home. She was down 4 dress sizes in her wedding dress :woohoo:! I am still glad that she went home. I didn't particularly like having another personality at the ranch.
