**KIDS WILL BE ARRIVING MOMENTARILY SO I MAY HAVE TO HOP OFF ABRUPTLY!**
I'll bet you'll feel SO GOOD wearing those dresses! Enjoy them!
Enjoy your time with the Relay team.... it's a great cause! I walked on my Mom's Relay team for many years. DD's swim team is starting a team this year and I'm sure I'll get sucked into helping!
Not time now, but I'll post the vegetarian alternative recipe tonight or tomorrow.
Glad they are keeping the g-f beer handy!
I know.... seems like an oxymoron!! My SIL is Penn Dutch and doesn't know the meaning of the words LOW CARB or LIGHT! But this recipe, (the meat option) is hamburg, onion, tomato sauce/paste, eggplant, and cheese. The vegetarian option has one egg, cottage cheese, and parm. cheese. No carbs (other than the tomato and eggplant) and no butter!!
We'll miss you but we understand. Check in with us whenever you can and keep us up to date with how the wedding plans are going!
We are SO proud of you!
If you weren't already on meds, I would suggest just starting OTC daily allergies meds (like Allevert).... but since you are taking prescriptions, I would definitely talk to a doc before starting anything new. But allergies can make you feel very miserable.... foggy, sore throat, congested, ear pain, etc.
Yup..... I put away the scale for now.... won't pull it out until Friday. Just too emotional for me. But glad you found a system that is working for you.
In the old days it was pasta.... tuna casserole or baked ziti .... nothing to defrost and uses mostly pantry ingredients. And of course, there is always eggs.... scrambled, omelets, egg pie with toast and applesauce.
Now..... well, I plan pretty well and I rarely run into a day when dinner isn't already preplanned, pre-prepped, and sometimes precooked! Tonight is a hamburger soup/stew in the crockpot.
Well... I can hear the kids coming down the hall and I was already prewarned that one of my children is having some sort of meltdown. The day has begun. I'm not looking forward do it. If I thought I could get away with it, I would tell them I was sick and go home. I'm just feeling really crummy after my disagreement with DD.
Hope the day gets better........P
Well, the scale is going up again another pound. I've put back 8lbs of the 15 that I lost a couple of months agoOh, well, I'm not going to let it bring me down b/c while I'm up half the amount I lost, my clothes certainly aren't
I was sooooo excited this weekend when I went shopping! I was on a mission to Old Navy, determined to buy a nice spring dress that I have never owned in my life
Really, I've always been intimidated by spring dresses, with my figure (top heavy), they just don't make spring dress big enough on top to cover the girls
(sorry guys if that was TMI). Anyways, since I've gone down 2 sizes, I was determined to celebrate by buying a new spring dress, worse come to worse, I'd just wear a tank top under it. So I start by picking out XXL and XL, go try them on, and waste 30 minutes in the dressing room because they were WAY to big
I don't know why I keep grabbing them, I just don't give myself credit for losing weight.
So I ended up with 3 new dresses in size large! Woohoo!I nearly had a stroke when the total came up on the register, I'm extremely frugal. But I deserved this, so I marched right into my house, bags in hand, and told DH just how much I spent

He honestly didn't care, he thinks I'm too frugal too, so he was pleased
So I got my 60 minute run in today during lunch, working on my water, and we're having fajita salad for dinner!
Have a great day everyone!

I signed up for the Relay for Life in my town this morning. I am on a team named Be Well! Our walk is May 20-21. I'm really looking forward to this great and rewarding event!
Ok, I think I've rambled enough! Time for one of my favorite episodes of Dr. Who from last season!

II have that song on my ipod too! And I'd love to see the recipe if it appears to be g-f if you get a minute.
We have another bb game tonight. Someone asked about the g-f beer. They know us now, so they are taking good care of us. We might be the only ones buying g-f beer! I am doing some emotional eating lately. I need to go back and read that article! Lots going on here, but hopefully things will settle down soon. Have a great evening! I will definitely be having a g-f beer tonight!

wait - mennonite and low carb in the same sentence? i don't believe it! lol! my mom is part pennsylvania dutch and her grandmother was a mennonite. the only spices they seem to use are salt, butter, and more butter. i'd like that recipe. i love eggplant.

Hi everyone. I know I have been gone for a while. Im just really feeling stressed right now with all that I have going on- work, school, more school, research, the wedding, my upcoming cruise, and just life. I end courses for life in one month so I hope to regain some time back, but for now, I wont be able to be back on here for a few weeks. I just trying to focus on getting past this one month periodI hope you are all doing well!

So funny story for today...
I went for my followup biometric scan today (to earn my last 100 bucks from my work for improving my BMI) and when I entered the lady asked if I was there for a height and weight check- to which I replied yes I think I'm taller now. She (and the rest of the room got a kick out of that) when it was my turn for the height check I actually DID grow an inchso instead of being 2 ish lbs over "Normal" like I expected (just didnt want to wait another month to test!) came in as "Normal" BMI
When I was congratulated I simply replied- Now bring on the cheeseburgers!
But the end of the day the word is this: I AM NO LONGER PART OF THE OVERWEIGHT AMERICANS STATISTIC!!!!
Unless in fact I am truly 5' 3" then I can say that in 2.1 lbs![]()

I hadn't thought about allergies. I was told that I have them, but I never pursued it. I always thought that they were no big deal. I pushed through a lot of lightheadedness at work today, so maybe now would be a good time to look into having allergies. I'm actually quite proud of myself for persisting and pushing through and continuing to work. Vertigo is harder to push through, but any day when I am able to work all 8 hours plus 1.5 hours of OT despite not feeling even 75% is a victory in my book!

Pamela--I've been thinking about the comment you made about weighing everyday, and trying to explain in my mind what I get out of it. I think I get two things. One, it keeps me real--I know I've been pushing it lately with the food and the scale is showing it. So, I will hopefully get things under control before things go far. And two, I learn to see patterns--like after long runs (10+ miles) I need to drink more water because my weight also creeps up for a couple days. And since my t.o.m. is so irregular I can sometimes figure out when it's coming by the scale. I guess it's what I do instead of counting calories or doing points. And as long as I am in my maintain range it's not too stressful. I can definitely see where it isn't for everybody. It just helps to keep me honest.![]()

Do you have an "emergency" plan for a healthy dinner for those days when things go crazy and you just can't cook?
