Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge--for Losers and Maintainers

Monday's QOTD - Since vacations are often for having fun and letting go of your diet somewhat, what little things do you do while on vacation (Disney or other) to keep you on track with the challenge while you enjoy yourself?

Monday's QOTD - Since vacations are often for having fun and letting go of your diet somewhat, what little things do you do while on vacation (Disney or other) to keep you on track with the challenge while you enjoy yourself?

I'll start things off first. I'm actally cruising the weekend after the challenge ends, but for the most part I diet so I can enjoy my vacations and eat what I want. I'm such a foodie, so I usually plan a lot of my trip around food. With that said, my one plan for the criuise and other cruises is to take the stairs whenever possible and to avoid the elevators. I'm hoping it offsets my eating a little. Also, since this is our first time cruising with DS, I think we may try to take a few laps around the walking deck after breakfast to work off what we've eaten.

Any other good ideas for us?

Saturday was sewing pillowcases for kids with cancer. We finished up the day with 111 for the cause. I still have to measure and add up all the fabric that was donated from our quilt shop.

Yesterday was church. I then went with dh and mowed my sil's lawn. The first time of the season. we both came home and took a nap. ds cooked burgers for dinner.

I am taking my parents to visit some relatives. They do this once a month and 4 of us take turns doing this. I usually do it in the summer but this was a good chance to get out of the building.

On Friday I am going to the Museum of Natural History in NYC. We are getting a personal tour because of a class we are took last summer.
You do so much for so many, Dona. You're such a generous person. A personal tour at the museum will be amazing. We went there a few years ago and it is amazing.

Hi Kathy,
Thank you so much for offering to let me coach the rest of the week. I hope I can do as good a job as you did. Thanks for coaching so far this week.

Hmmmm 5 points you say? That sounds tasty. I'm a fan of the black cherry Mike's. Have you tried them? My mother recently bought the spiced apple Mike's. It tasted good at first kind of like spiced apple cider, but I didn't end up finishing it.

Have a great day today, I'll keep my eyes out for you if you're walking or running. It feels a little chilly, but the birds are chirping away, so I think it's going to be a nice one.
It is beautiful out there, but I'm dis-ing instead of walking today. ;) You're welcome on the coaching, and you're doing a great job already. It's fun, and I find I usually stay on track better when I'm coaching here. I think it's keeps you checking in and inspired.
I love the black cherry and berry Mikes, but only had a lime one in the house. Need a trip to the liquor store soon.

Monday's QOTD - Since vacations are often for having fun and letting go of your diet somewhat, what little things do you do while on vacation (Disney or other) to keep you on track with the challenge while you enjoy yourself?
In disney, I try to get in plenty of water, and stay away from fried foods, and when I return, get right back on track. I never deprive myself, it si vacation after all. Usually I'll have a minimal gain, and have maintained, but if I don't get right back on track, the next week, I'll have a huge gain. I think it catches up with me the next week.
For other vacations, I do try to make some smart choices, and stayed away from the fried foods, but I definitely drink more alcohol on vacation, and i like the frozen drinks, which can be loaded with calories. Last year over the summer because I was training for the princess, on my two camping trips, I did go out in the morning for a run/walk. I plan to do that again this summer.

Have a great day everyone!!:)

I do freeze the egg cupcakes and they are great that way as well.

Yesterday, I did not even thaw them they went straight to the microwave!

Hello BL friends:goodvibes We survived our drive back from Holland Friday and just took it easy the rest of the weekend. I had a great weigh-in Saturday morning, down almost 3 lbs so only UP 1 lb from my lowest this challenge. I was quite surprised and suspected I might be dehydrated as I didn't eat or drink much Friday. Sure enough I was UP 2 lbs on Sunday and same today so I'm actually UP 3 lbs from my lowest weight this challenge. But, I didn't gain any weight over vacation:banana: That didn't really surprise me since we were so active and didn't go overboard with eating. My biggest meal was at Hard Rock in Amsterdam where I had a 6 oz burger, no cheese and no mayo and it was served with only a handful of fries. I actually still felt a little hungry after that:rotfl:

I've gotten ALOT done today so far. First we woke up to the big world-wide news that is going on. This makes us just a little more on alert since we live outside the US. We are always told on an everyday basis to not stand out too much so we had a little talk with DS before school about what was going on and what he should and should not do. This is a very safe country and generally pro-American but you can never be too careful. Remember those poor soldiers in Frankfurt a few months ago. After DS & DH left, I washed last nights dishes, put the furniture back in order in the Sun Room (I had washed the floor yesterday and forgot to put the furniture back). Then I rode my bike to the store and turned in all our bottles and bought items needed for supper tonight. Came home and talked with my friend for about 30minutes who had the fire in her apt last week. Next another friend came over and we went for a 2 hour "power walk". It's really pleasant and sunny today. Came home to a message that 3 people want to view our apt this week so talked with the realtor and got them all scheduled. Next the guy came to fix the dishwasher. We have not used it in 2 months and didn't really feel it was our problem to fix but according to our rental contract we are responsible for appliance repairs up to 500 euros.:scared1: So 114 euros later, we are told that there is nothing wrong with the dishwasher but somehow the machine thought there was a problem so it shut off its memory:confused3 Repair guy says it happens all the time and to call him if it happens again but he's never heard back from anybody:confused3 Fingers crossed on that one! Right now, the washing machine repair guy is down in our cellar fixing our washer
He is installing a new drum and he said to come back in one hour and he needs to see our receipt. I can't find it anywhere so I have a call in to DH and HOPING he will call me back soon! After this, the schedule is free for the rest of the day:thumbsup2

So, to catch up since Thursday.....

Disneywedding: LOVE:love: the new kitchen! We had granite countertops, new cabinet hardware and new fixtures installed when we sold our house and it makes a HUGE difference! We only got to enjoy it a few months:sad2:

Lindsay: You look GREAT in your wedding picture!!! Wow, I also thought it was a stock model photo! Hope your race went well, can't wait to hear all about it. I love those kids that are fierce competitors! Think of the opposite of that and that is my DS:lmao: I would love to light a fire under him!

BronxNancy: I hope you enjoyed your weekend in DC! Were you still there when people took to the streets Sunday? And, Hawaii !?! WOW! So jealous. Good luck with T and the flight. We took our 7 yr old to Hawaii and he did great and slept through alot of the flights and we were sp impressed but then he needed a barf bag just as we touched down back home at RDU. It's a funny memory now.

Rose: I am so glad you made it through your race! Wear that medal proudly!

Maria: Your comments about St Petersburg made me a little sad as we were planning a Baltic cruise in August that had a 2 day stop there. Unfortunately we aren't going now that we are moving back home so that remains on the bucket list. Our friends are still going so that makes it a little sadder!

Deb: Sorry about the setback but I agree with what others said and just keep on doing what you are doing and the scale will eventually show the
results:goodvibes I am sure you know this too. It's nice to have a place to vent though! The mini quiches sound great, I may try a batch too. Also, do you guys like hard boiled eggs? Just boil in advance and keep in fridge for a quick grab bfast.

Kathy: I know it felt good to get the yard work done! Baseball season sounds so much fun! I remember when DS was younger, it was a great place to socialize and catch up with all the other parents. I hope Michael has a great season. for your friend as well.

Tracey: I agree with what Deb & Kathy said about the dog. I was thinking this before I even read what they wrote. I did not think about the kids making cards though and that's a great idea! I know you will handle the situation correctly and be a great comfort to the girls when you feel the time is right to tell...

Buffy: You will do GREAT at the 5K, can't wait to hear all about it:goodvibes

Pamela: CONGRATS on seeing that 2:banana::banana::banana: Man, your packing stategy is UNBELIEVEABLY organized! We've gotten into the more "European" style of packing....1 or 2 prs of pants and shirts that you give a daily sniff test to and air them out if you need to. I had no idea that most of the world lives this way. It is really freeing. I am sure I will convert back when I return home though:goodvibes

LTS: Great buy at the BF store!

Lisa: Safe travels back home if you're not there yet!

Dona: So jealous you can pop into NYC !!! Have fun!

Well, I have to run. I'm sure I have forgotten someone so I will come back later. Had to call DH about 7 times and he has the receipt with him. The repair guy was so nice and said he could fax it to his shop later today. Should be under warranty once they see the date on the receipt so no $$$ spent on that, PTL. Can't believe I can actually wash clothes and dishes with a MACHINE starting today. I am anxious to get started but neighbor has just called and asked me to babysit her 3 yr old DS for an hour -- can this day get any crazier ???

have a great Monday everyone!

Shawn:wizard:

Morning all!

Energizer Bunny is taking one more day to rest! We stayed up late last night watching tv and then I fell asleep before the BIG NEWS last night so I just got up and watched that this morning. TOM started so that has wiped me out as well.

Got Izzie home with me as she was barking like a seal this morning. Slight fever and really STUFFY!!!! She only had a half day so it's a good day for her to rest and I had nothing big this morning.

I am going to focus today on eating better and not extra bad stuff like I have been. I may try and workout later this morning or afternoon. Trying to get all those clothes put away in Izzie's room and just get more organized. I just finished my tea so now it's time for a shake!

Don't forget to PM me your weigh ins!

TTFN :tigger:

PS Thanks for the advice on telling the kids about Chrissy. Last night wasn't the right time anyways as Izzie was wiped out from her weekend. Probably talk to them over the weekend.

Good Morning Everyone!

Its back to work for me today. ugghhh! I officially completed my 2nd half marathon yesterday:cool1: My princess half was 3:12 and yesterdays time was 2:48. It wasnt hard to go faster considering I had nothing to take pictures of.:lmao: I am pretty sore today but it feels good in a wierd way. I am proud of myself for doing it.

I feel like my first race I proved to myself that I can do it and this second race I proved to everyone else that I can do it too. Like the first one wasnt just a fluke. Im not sure what my 3rd half will represent but Im sure I will figure it out over the 13 miles I will run by myself....like rose said running for that long of a time along allows for plenty of self reflection.;)

Have a great day!!!!

I make this every sunday to help with breakfast

18 eggs (mix them a to scramble)
16 oz of shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb of cooked and cooked sausage

Make them in cupcake tins. (little mini quiches w/o bread)
Bake for 25-30 min on 350.

I throw them into a ziploc bag then each morning we microwave them for 30-45 seconds. You can use a fork or eat it like a cupcake.

I spray the pan really well so no sticking.

Hope this helps with your morning routine!

I love these too! I like to add veggies also-- cooked mushrooms and cooked asparagus or spinach chopped small. If you like peppers and onions those would also work great. A way to sneak in a few more veggies for the day.

Great idea:goodvibes And, I know just how hard it was for you to bring up the peppers and onions:rotfl2: ;)

Shawn:wizard:

I remember who I forgot earlier.....CC!!!

Not only does she run our HH every week, I received a prize in the mail from her:banana: She mailed it all the way to Germany!

Now that I have her address, I am looking for something neat from Germany to send to her. All I can think of at the moment is chocolate but I am not sure how appreciated that will be :)

CC, if you know of something you would like from Germany, send me a PM:goodvibes

Shawn:wizard:

Maria and Kathy--love you both! :goodvibes

I finished. And honestly it sucked. My time for Princess 2:12, my time for this one 2:42. And I was in tears the last 4 miles. I was never out of breath or even breathing hard the entire time, but my knee was killing me from about 50 minutes on. It's funny cause up until that point I was on pace to easily be under 2:30 even with run 90sec walk 90sec run. Then something just happened and it hurt so bad. The last four miles I just kept running very slowly cause it hurt so much to stop and start. I poured it on and ran hard across the finish though.:goodvibes

BTW--I will never run that race again. I am done. I have the medal, and one is enough!:thumbsup2

And woohoo to Mike--He finished in 1:54!!!!! I am so happy for him[/COLOR][/B].:goodvibes

Rose -- I know this was not what you wanted, but I'm so proud of you for toughing it out! There are definitely some races where one medal is enough :thumbsup2 And Great Job, Mike!

I am now relaxing and preparing myself mentally for my race tomorrow. I am excited! My goal is just to beat my disney princess time. Since I wont be carrying my camera I should be able to do it.:lmao:

Ok, I already know your result, but just had to say isn't it a great feeling when you know a PR is just about to happen?! :goodvibes

So I realized yesterday I stayed on plan food wise. Forgot to journal it, but I stayed on!!

I also told myself I deserved that medal. I was not going to let DS down, I was not going to let myself down!!!!! And I kept saying Damn it I want that medal!!! Next thing I know...... my 8 minutes were up!!

I think I will bring my iPod and headphones with me. I'll keep one earbud in so I can hear music, it really does help.

I'm an ipod girl, it can really help you keep moving -- and yes, you do deserve it! You have put in the training time, and now you just have the fun of your race! :yay:

She is 4 weeks old and just beautiful. Her name is Loralei Victoria Abagail and she is wonderful.

Congratulations on your new precious DIS fan! :earsgirl:

Thank you for all the support over the last couple of weeks. I have not liked being around myself, so you all are sweet for putting up with me.:goodvibes gave a great Sunday!

Oh, Rose! -- You know we all have these ups and downs, thank goodness we aren't all down at the same time! ::yes:: You are such a great :cheer2: Thank you for being you!

My eating was ok but I didn't journal yesterday, so today I have it all ready to go, and will journal for the rest of the week. I'm happy ds's games this week are both my short work days, so I will be able to feed him a good supper before we go. It's too easy to go through mcd's drivethru during baseball season, so I'm happy we have our once a month rule, which I will stick to. I was thinking I'll get some frozen bagels for ds and he can have them with egg beaters or ham and cheese on some of the nights we're pressed for time.

Once a month for Mickey Ds?! You are doing great! We limit ds to once a week (usually Friday night), and that seems to be all we can manage...Sounds like a great healthy quick meal for ds! :tilt:

Sunday QOTD 5/1- Wow, I just realized it's may!! I think I need a disney question. : If you were at Disneyland, WDW, or on a Disney cruise right now what would you be doing?

I love this question! I'm going to do something different -- I think many of you have heard my DTD day one too many times :rotfl: So right now I would be on Castaway Cay -- I would be getting ready to get up from my lounger and head over to the barbeque. Then I would go for a private massage on the beach, then back to the cabana we rented (money is no object in my fantasy day ) to just lay in the sun and soak up the relaxation. :cloud9:

I'm not throwing in the towel, I'm not giving myself a day off, I'm just going to keep swimming. I feel like a giddy school girl and my husband is equally as bad

Deb -- :fish: yep, you are doing the right thing! And the new camper sounds like just what you want -- glad there is something to make you giddy!

Tomorrow is when I get back on plan! I have pretty much taken two weeks off from my workouts so I need to get moving again. Need to start today by drinking lots of H20! I've been slacking off on that! I'm halfway through my first bottle now. I just set the alarm for 5! I will also walk to the wellness center after Izzie gets on the bus. I need to get myself some protein bars at Target today so I don't eat crap when I'm hungry!

Tracey -- You are on the Marathon Monday plan -- my dh also took 2 weeks off from everything, and today he's getting back to running and eating right. :cool1:

:wave2: Checking in! Been a very busy week. I got a cleaning bug and have been cleaning and organizing our junk rooms. Yes, rooms! We moved here about 6 years ago and I have 2 rooms that were the "I don't know where to put it, just throw it in there" But they are huge projects.

Sounds like my attic -- Every once in awhile we just go up there with a big trash barrel and fill it. I feel guilty because my attic is a finished space -- it really could be used as another room if I would get it together. I was going to make a "puzzling space", but dh wasn't enthusiastic. He couldn't understand why I would want to go to the attic to be by myself :rolleyes1

It's been fun coaching this weekend. Had a productive day. Did 3 miles with my friend, visited my niece who just came home from france after a 2 week exchange program. She looked exhausted, but had a blast. I did a bunch of yard work, trimmed all the bushes and raked, planted grass seed, and am so happy. I sat on my porch for a while and read and had a mike hard lemonade after I was done.

Sounds like a great day -- I think there are some Mike's in the refrigerator  I'll have to remember that when I get home.

Saturday was sewing pillowcases for kids with cancer. We finished up the day with 111 for the cause. I still have to measure and add up all the fabric that was donated from our quilt shop.

On Friday I am going to the Museum of Natural History in NYC. We are getting a personal tour because of a class we are took last summer.

Dona -- You are such a giving person with your time and talents, it seems you always have a wonderful project going to help others. And I hope your tour is spectacular! :flower3:

Monday's QOTD - Since vacations are often for having fun and letting go of your diet somewhat, what little things do you do while on vacation (Disney or other) to keep you on track with the challenge while you enjoy yourself?

I try to stick to low points breakfasts and lunches, and then have a splurge with dinner or my dessert. I also try to be as active as possible.

Maria: Your comments about St Petersburg made me a little sad as we were planning a Baltic cruise in August that had a 2 day stop there. Unfortunately we aren't going now that we are moving back home so that remains on the bucket list. Our friends are still going so that makes it a little sadder!

Shawn -- That would make me sad, too, to come so close...you are right, it just remains on the bucket list! ::yes::

I feel like my first race I proved to myself that I can do it and this second race I proved to everyone else that I can do it too. Like the first one wasnt just a fluke. Im not sure what my 3rd half will represent but Im sure I will figure it out over the 13 miles I will run by myself....like rose said running for that long of a time along allows for plenty of self reflection.

Lindsay -- I absolutely understand. Congratulations on the vastly better time, you earned it! And I like the 13 miles out there to think -- actually, I think that's why I like training. Just time to think things through -- with the occasional day dream!

Yesterday I was totally off the rails foodwise. And it was my rest day, so nothing to write home about. I'm back at it today. I missed my workout this morning, but at least I'm tracking my food and I'm aware and in control.

Maria :upsidedow

Good idea! I think I will try to stay away from fried foods as well. And I hear ya on the drinking. I already have a list of about 5 drinks that I want to try including the tiramisu martini, creme brulee martini, the BBC, and the new pink champagne from the bar called "Pink" that is made special for DCL. And it comes with a little dessert. I better walk more than I had originally planned :rotfl:

Hope Izzie feels better soon. My DS has a cough that he's had since we went to NH. I'm wondering if he may be allergic to the cat

Hope your healthy eating plans are going well this afternoon. I went to the grocery store and bought a bunch of things to make salads this week. Vacation is in 3 weeks, so it's crunch time.

Great work :thumbsup2 I have great appreciation for those of you who run. I just never got into it. Strangely enough this week I have had the urge to try it, so maybe tomorrow night if it's nice out I'll give it a try when DH puts DS to bed for the night.

I love these too! I like to add veggies also-- cooked mushrooms and cooked asparagus or spinach chopped small. If you like peppers and onions those would also work great. A way to sneak in a few more veggies for the day.

Mmmmm now I'm hungry. I just had a WW breakfast scrambler for lunch and it was tasty. An hour more and then I'll have a Chobani. I tried looking for the pineapple one that people on the boards suggested, but they didn't have any. So, I got strawberry banana, raspberry, and mango to try.

I love this question! I'm going to do something different -- I think many of you have heard my DTD day one too many times :rotfl: So right now I would be on Castaway Cay -- I would be getting ready to get up from my lounger and head over to the barbeque. I love your Castaway Cay plan. I wish I could get a cabana, but I just can't jusitfy the cost. However, since money is no object in fantasyland, I'll have the one right next to you so we can chat Disney.

Thanks for the ideas on breakfast/lunch. The real splurge will be Palo, so eating lighter at breakfast and lunch will make dinner that much more enjoyable.

Good for you for getting back on the healthy food wagon and staying aware. That's half the battle :goodvibes

The cranberry one is my 2nd favorite. Hmmm... Merchant's here we come :goodvibes

Just a quick reminder, don't forget to PM tigger813 your weigh ins!

I need to send mine now. It's going the wrong direction by 3 pounds :scared1: Darn eating bad all weekend and TOM :headache:

HI all,

Been good food wise today...shake and TJs potstickers and that's it. Trying to get back to my water.

I've done marathon cleaning all day! I went through and cleaned the kitchen thoroughly and got rid of a lot of things. My magic Bullet died this morning making my shake so I will need to shop for a new one. Brian was worried about where we would put it with the extra cups, etc. I always find room!

Then I went into Izzie's room and took care of all the clothes. I was about to leave and her shelving unit fell apart so I was in there another 30 minutes trying to pick up all the stuff.

Need to shower so Ash and I can go to dancing in a bit. I also need to grill our chicken for supper. Ash and I are also going to run to the book store after dancing so we can look for Royal Wedding magazines!

I'm wiped. Ash just got home so I can shower now.

hi all!

this weekend DH and i left the little guy at home with a friend of mine and went to DC for a friend's wedding. the weekend was really fun! the wedding kind of sucked though -there was hardly any food! ***?? i had planned on enjoying a nice glass of wine with my meal but considering all that was served was veggies with dip, fruit slices, cold cuts on a stick and cheese and crackers, i decided to forget the wine as my stomach just wasn't full enough!

my one friend works at the white house and got us a special private tour. it was really cool and she took us to alot of the places that normal folks don't get to see. we were supposed to go to the oval office but were stuck outside the office's door since the president was in an emergency meeting. i guess now we know what the meeting was about!!

at the wedding i finally spilled to my friends that i'm pregnant. they were all really happy and excited. my one friend's wife says, "i knew it! i thought you were gaining weight!" WHAAAAATTT???? first off, this gal is not exactly thin. secondly, i weigh the same right now as i did at my wedding. she hasn't seen me at this weight in a long time! i weigh 135! i worked hard to get down to this weight! last time she saw me i was probably 150 (i had just had a baby).

talk about a rude comment. how does one react to that!?!

this week will be chock full o' cleaning and packing for our trip on saturday! please pray that our flight is uneventful and peaceful!

i hope you all had a great weekend! i'm off to go back a few pages and catch up! xoxo

Nancy--I am so glad you had fun! I think it's great that you took a trip away from Thomas. Good for you and good for Thomas! People say the STUPIDEST things about other people's weights. It drives me a little insane sometimes! Have you ever seen The Closer? When someone says something stupid I try very hard to channel my inner Deputy Chief Brenda Lee Johnson (I think it's Johnson) and nice them to death. Mike can always tell when I'm doing it too and he thinks it's hysterical. He swears no one else knows and they just think I am being so very polite.:thumbsup2 I've had a couple people say to me--oh so you lost weight cause of the gluten problems--yep that's it. I only was able to lose weight cause I can't eat gluten and it was making me sick. It's so very annoying, but I am trying very hard to nod and smile.:goodvibes Hang in there!

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments about the race. I am feeling very proud of myself today.:goodvibes

I did want to point out though, that I only ran with an injury because the therapist I was seeing told me it was ok to do it. If he would have told me no way, I would have not have even attempted it. So I don't want anyone to think it's ok to run through an injury without checking with a sports doc/medical professional. He did not believe that running through my itbs would make it worse, it would just delay the recovery. I feel ok today, just pretty sore. Sometime this week I will start my rehab exercises again and at some point I will go back for another torture, uh I mean treatment.:thumbsup2 It was never as bad on Saturday as it was before I went for treatment, or I would have had to stop. So it's definitely getting better.:goodvibes

Monday's QOTD - Since vacations are often for having fun and letting go of your diet somewhat, what little things do you do while on vacation (Disney or other) to keep you on track with the challenge while you enjoy yourself?
I like this question! I have lots of things I do. DH and I share a lot of meals. We used to share dinners, but since I have gone g-f he usually gets something at dinner that we wouldn't have at home, so it's a treat for him. We often share lunch though. We also have food in our room for quick breakfasts and last minute meals--hummus, scoops, hard boiled eggs, cheese, fruit, nuts, rice chex, yogurt. If we have dessert then we always share. I also try really hard to walk as much as I can to make up for any extra calories.

Eating out has become quite a chore since going g-f so I really enjoy going to Disney even more. The table service restaurants do a really good job of trying to make your dinner special even if it's a special allergy meal. At first I was really nervous about this, but we found all of the chefs we met to be so nice and eager to help. I am looking forward to our next trip cause it will be fun to eat out and not worry! So, I am planning on ordering dessert at every meal, but I will share with my boys.:goodvibes

Have a great night!:goodvibes

Rose how did you find out that you had an allergy to gluten? DS10 has such stomach issues, especially after eating grain products. And now my oldest god daughter is having a similar issue.
Is there a test or did you have to turn yourself into a guinea pig? My mom is lactose intolerant and she ended up just figuring it out on her own. The Dr's were no help.

Hi, everyone! Just a quick check-in for me. I'm so sorry to be neglecting all my WISH BL friends. I am just overwhelmed and stressed. Don't worry, though, I've been self-medicating -- let's see, there was vanilla cake, restaurant dinners, nachos, wine and more wine, chips, etc., etc. It was ugly. And when all was said and done, the medicine did not work! Fancy that? I actually felt worse. Just take stress and add a huge dose of guilt PLUS the sluggishness that comes from eating poorly and not exercising, and yeah, self-medicating with food is not effective. :rotfl2:

Rose - I am so proud of you for finishing your half-marathon!

Lindsay - Congrats on finishing your second half-marathon! I loved what you said about doing the first one to prove something to yourself and the second to prove something to others. :thumbsup2 I hope the next one will be because you want to do it. :goodvibes

Dona - I am so impressed with your generous sharing of your talents. You are wonderful!

I forgot everything else I was going to say. Yesterday was my first full day of being on track after 8 days of being not-so-nice to my body. I did do a 5k last Saturday in the torrential rain to benefit Ronald McDonald House. And I did 6.6 miles this past Saturday just because I thought I should.

Yesterday, I was here at work for nearly 10 hours, so no exercise. This morning, I got up and went to the Y and only had time to do 30 minutes on the elliptical, but I did it. I am hoping to get back into a routine of going several times a week, at least.

Keep up all the effort, everyone! The end is actually in sight and we all just have to kick it into high gear and maintain the momentum each day. :cool1:
