Good morning friends!
Hope you're all enjoying your weekends. We are blessed with a dry weekend, and the sun is beaming this morning. The trees have all bloomed this week.
Had a fun day of baseball yesterday. DS's game was delayed a half hour because of the parade and opening ceremony, and it went 2 hours until the next game. We got in 5 and a half innings, and our team won by a lot, so the boys were happy. For this level now, we're supposed to do a full 6 innings. I had gotten excited when I saw the schedule and his last game is early 6/11, but found out yesterday we go to playoffs, so there will be more games after that, but they promise we're done by the fourth of july.
After the game we hung by the snack bar and chatted with other people from other games. It was a fun day, and when we got home, I did some much needed yard work. I want to get some grass seed planted before we get lots of rain this week, so I'm going to get out there again this morning, and then meet my friend for a walk/run at 11:30.
My eating was ok but I didn't journal yesterday, so today I have it all ready to go, and will journal for the rest of the week. I'm happy ds's games this week are both my short work days, so I will be able to feed him a good supper before we go. It's too easy to go through mcd's drivethru during baseball season, so I'm happy we have our once a month rule, which I will stick to. I was thinking I'll get some frozen bagels for ds and he can have them with egg beaters or ham and cheese on some of the nights we're pressed for time.
Hi guys. My name is Michelle and I was on here a few challenges ago and had planned on coming back for the next challenge when God interceded and gave us our 4th baby girl! It was a suprise but now that she is here I can't imagine not having her. She is 4 weeks old and just beautiful. Her name is Loralei Victoria Abagail and she is wonderful.
Welcome back, Michelle. Congratulations on your newest little princess.

You must be a very busy mom with 4 little girls. It's great to see you back!
We'll have to think about this a bit. Once things calm down, I'll pm you and maybe we can put together a plan. I definitely don't want it to be something that causes anyone more stress!he
I was half joking about the stress. My house causes me the stress when I let it get out of hand, and a challenge would really be so helpful to me.
I was sooooo tired last night. What a week it has been. I feel much more motivated to get back on track, get my house cleaned up and get my food/meals organized. I am so glad this race is over and I'm really looking forward to getting my legs heeled! I am tired of sore knees.
For all you new runners, despite running 13 miles, my weight is up today. And I know I did not eat too much! Mike says my body is holding on to fluids to clean out all the junk from all the muscles that were broken down yesterday during the run. Hopefully in a day or two I will see a nice loss.
Thank you for all the support over the last couple of weeks. I have not liked being around myself, so you all are sweet for putting up with me.

gave a great Sunday!
I am so happy the race is over for you, and you did so well. I'm sure the anticipation of the race coming up had affected you over the past few weeks, and I hope that happy, positive Rose is back now!!

I have heard that about muscles breaking down during long runs too, so I am sure that is all it is. Glad you had such a nice night.
We had a great day. Nick still gets so nervous for the races even though he did 6 or 7 last year. At least this one I ran next to him and he didnt need to hold my hand so we are making progress. Then ryan's race was next. He puts way to much pressure on himself to always win and be the best...yes and he is only 6 I know. So he came off the start running really fast and was in 3rd place for the first half of the race....he then made the turn to come back and I could just see he was falling back and sucking wind. By the time he got to us he looked like he was going to cry. He ran past us a few steps and then turned around with tears in his eyes saying his belly hurt. I ran a few steps with him and told him just to finish even if he has to walk the rest. He walked for a few seconds and then finished it running hard. He was so disappointed in himself. My dh and I told him we were so proud of him for finishing and that he doesnt have to be the winner or be the fastest. I can see this is going to be an issue for him throughout his life. He just has that drive to win. I dont think that is a bad thing but Im sure it will have its negatives as he ages.
Good luck today, Lindsay!!

Hope it's a beautiful there as it is here this morning. Poor little Ryan putting the pressure on himself. Michael used to be like that with baseball and school work, and got so upset if he struck out, or got something wrong on his homework, but as he's getting older, he seems to be much better about it. I'm sure with your help, he will learn to celebrate his accomplishments.
Congratlulations on finishing!

I'm so sorry your knee is bothering you, I hope you can get that resolved soon. I can't wait to hear your race report. Have fun tonight! We are going to a baseball game tomorrow, finally, our first of the season. Unfortunately its supposed to be cold tomorrow. Congrats to Mike on finishing under 2 hours!
Good luck to Lindsay tomorrow!
Hi Lisa.
Today was a decent day. I was hoping to go the gym, but my trip to the bank took way too long and I needed to be home by a certain time. It ended up being okay because I didn't eat much at all today. I still have 10 points left for the day and no appetite. I got plenty of fruit and veggies in and enough protein. I'm not sure what the scale will bring this week. My eating has truly been all over the place.
Well, I have a busy day tomorrow and what looks to be a busy week at work, so I best get some sleep. Night!
I think you're doing great with the eating, cc. So impressed with your resolve and ability to stay within your points each week. I need to follow in your footsteps.
[So I realized yesterday I stayed on plan food wise. Forgot to journal it, but I stayed on!!
Tonight, I love water and broccoli!! LOL I just chugged 16 oz of water while making dinner and I ate my broccoli first, I can't finish my pork chop or the pasta roni.
I also did week 5 day 2 on C25K. 5 minute warm up, 8 minute run, 5 minute walk, 8 minute run, 5 minute cool down. I Did it!!! I did 2 miles in 31:42 which averaged a 16:11 minute/mile pace. Which is awesome!!!!
My shins will force me to run, LOL They kill if I walk so I kinda slow jog/speed walk in the walking intervals. Still having trouble lifting my left foot. I really need to will it to lift, but it's not as bad as it used to be. Tomorrow I will just do a walk. Monday is a 20 minute run for W5D3. I'm nervous!!! But I think I can do it!!
Today's quote on C25K was Never, never, never give up!! - Winston Churchill.
I had to keep saying it over and over in my head.
I also told myself I deserved that medal. I was not going to let DS down, I was not going to let myself down!!!!! And I kept saying Damn it I want that medal!!! Next thing I know...... my 8 minutes were up!!
I think I will bring my iPod and headphones with me. I'll keep one earbud in so I can hear music, it really does help.
I'm so happy for you!! You are so ON!!! You are going to be absolutely fine for the 5k. I love your mantra, and how much it helped get you through the 8 minutes. I am guessing on race day, the excitement of everyone around you and actually running in disney world, the time will just fly by, even if you didn't have the music. I remember the first mile of the princess seemed to fly by. It is so amazing to be there in that exciting atmosphere. I am so excited for you!!
Enjoy your sunday!!
