Biggest disappointment at WDW......

The fact this thread is continuing is absolutely absurd. I'm still trying to figure out why someone felt the need to bump this up anyway.

Well when we went on our senior trip the boys in my class were very polite, getting up for other people. I was really shocked.

I can see what you are saying! I don't think I could actually ask however. One because it is true that you may not be able to see a reason why they need to sit. If I come on the bus and I'm standing holding my two year old, I just don't search out for who is being "not so nice". I have been offered a seat many times and am happily thankful. If they don't offer...oh well. I don't know them or how they were brought up. I have no idea how they are feeling today. However, I better never see my son or hubby not giving up their seat, God willing they are able. :rotfl2:

Very well said, IMO.

Selfish isn't living your life the way you want to, it's expecting everyone else to live their life the way you want them to.

I too am baffled at the bumping of this thread. :confused3 Slow news day, I guess.

I just need to reply to all of the people saying that if you don't like the bus situation, rent a car. There are many people (like me) who are not comfortable driving in unfamiliar cities. I have absolutely no sense of direction! I would be afraid of causing accidents due to my suddenly changing lanes, or looking at a map and not the road. For me, a bus is the way to go! And yes, I do have some not so apparent physical problems and may not get up for someone who has a perceived need of a seat. Most people need to stop being so judgemental and live within their own moral code and stop trying to enforce it on others!

My 2 cents

Yup, thats what I'm talking about. 6' 4" grown men with no manners.

Are you claiming that I have "no manners"? Please back up that claim with specifics. I believe that I have very good manners and that I am a polite and considerate person. If something in any one of my posts on the DIS causes you to disagree with that assessment, please quote the post and give your reasoning.

I can't believe that there is still this much going on with it as well. Very sad.

BTW, I was @ WDW the week before last.

There was a sign in the bus that stated "Please offer these seats to the elderly and those with disabilities".

I took a picture and would post it but I am a little unsure how to do so.

Maybe I am wrong, but I think there were a few people said if Disney needed people to stand a CM would ask. Well, there is Disney asking

Yes, every bus has that sign above the seats in teh front, which are also clearly marked with the handicap symbol, rather like a handicap-reserved parking space. The only difference is that in cases where there are no handicapped people in need of those seats, they are open to the general public, whereas a handicap parking space is reserved for cars with handicap license plates only.

Thanks but i'll stick to my renatl car - we can ALL sit in comfort plus my DD is straped in safely and not at the whim of a bus driver. Never mind the difficulty of driving in a 'strnge' city - try driving on the other side of the road with loads of different laws etc. That's what the UK visitors put up with - but being herded like cattle on a packed bus or sit comfortably in my own little air-conditioned box - no choice really! ;)

my grandma who is in her 80s still comes to disney with us. i will say 99% of the time people offer her a seat. however on those rare occassions she will simpley ask someone to move for her. she'll then turn to me and say "read the sign disney says i get the seat". gotta love grandmas

Whilst reading these posts it made me think of an internet site i came accross recently, a few exerts are listed below. :wave2:

Does this sound like the people expecting others to give up their bus seats?

Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Has a sense of entitlement

Translation: They expect automatic compliance with their wishes or especially favorable treatment, such as thinking that they should always be able to go first and that other people should stop whatever they're doing to do what the narcissists want, and may react with hurt or rage when these expectations are frustrated.

Selfishly takes advantage of others to achieve his own ends

Translation: Narcissists use other people to get what they want without caring about the cost to the other people.

I've always found people polite when i've visited disney

P.S. has anyone thought of asking disney to put on more buses? :grouphug:

Its happen to us plenty of times. I have been with all 3 pregnancies & I was clearly showing and know one gave a seat for me! And plenty of times getting on the bus with a sleeping child hanging on you (dead weight) and people let you stand there. I find that probably the rudest thing I see in Disney.

Watch out.

Someone will flame you for going to Disney while you were pregnant.

BTW, me and my pregnant wife just got back and had a great time. The bus was never so full that we had to stand, but I am sure if it was, some kind soul would have offered my pregnant wife his seat not matter what the this thread had dictated thus far.

I still have faith. :)
