Any chance of us north of the 49th parallel to have our own section like the folks from the UK?

Don't know if this request has been done before.

Please cast your vote in the above poll.

The site is huge enough as it is... would complicate things IMO.

In any event, I don't think there's that much Canadian traffic to warrant more subforums.

If you build it they will come.

I feel that there are enough of us here that may warrant a look by the powers that be, not rocking the boat now that's Canadian?

How do you get 150 Canadians out of the pool?
You ask them.

I often am amazed at how slow this thread moves sometimes given soooo many of us are Disney-Addicts?
Think the Brits are a huge presence at Disney and on these boards...JMO
Not sure we need it?

I don't see that we really need more than this one. Trip planning for the most part is the same as in the US with most of the same airlines and such. We don't have to deal with the overseas phone calls and the money is pretty much the same (ie; dollars to dollars rather than dollars to pounds). This forum doesn't move all that fast as it is...

There is not a lot of traffic as it is, but if you really want some sub-boards, you need to modify your categories to things Canadian DIS folk REALLY care about. Some sample sub-boards:
  • Suggestions for the Canada movie at EPCOT;
  • Tim Hortons At EPCOT
  • It's Nice How We Don't Fight Like The Resorts/DVC/Restaurants/Family/Community Board
  • Canadian Dollar Angst

That's just a few from the top of my head - maybe others have more suggestions :confused3

And just for the Record:
  • On the Canadian Movie (Hello? The "prairies" ain't a province!:sad2: )
  • On Tim Hortons - As with Dunkin Dounuts, Timmies doesn't turn my crank like a French Roast from Second Cup or Starbucks :coffee:
  • On how nice we are - just check out a "Should I take my X year old child out of school for a visit to the World" on the Family board - :scared:
  • Canadian Dollar Angst - Should I prepay my DVC dues!?!?:scratchin

I don't know....I think this could be a good idea. A Canadian Trip planning board and a Canadian Community board might not be that bad.

Other boards that move slowly but are still up and running include the College board, so why not?

Maybe not all the OP mentioned, but I think an extra just to cover the community or OT issues that are on the boards alot.

Some diverse opinions. I would like to see our more Canadian forms that deal with Canadian specific issues.

Our trip planning differs greatly from our neighbors to the south.
We pay more for our airfare.
Our driving distances are generally greater.
Other than some folks in southern Ontario and BC, who are within a short drive to large US airports, most of the country has to suck it up and pay Canadian air fares or drive the whole way.

I would like to read a transportation board where folks don't moan about paying $200 return or complain about a long eight hour drive to WDW.

Our own DVC area would be great so folks could dsicuss Canadian specific questions.

Don't get me wrong I like the a lot the US has to offer after all they have Disney, Target, great films, warmer weather and generally affordable vacations.

I would just like to see more of a Canadian perspective on things.
Most of our TV, Movies and news already comes from the US I would just like an expanded corner we could call our own.

I suppose some folks prefer having all things Canadian in one spot. No need to search different forums.

Keep the debate going folks.

Take a look at the signature

Very interesting. My goal in asking the question about more forums for Canadians was not to have folks leave the Disboards.

However perhaps the Disboards will beef up Canadian space to stop folks in jumping ship.

Three would be great:

Trip Planning
Community (for all those off topic posts about shopping centres in Ontario, etc.)
DVC

This poll is not scientific and correct 19 times out of 20 with a margin of error of 6.78% depending whether or not those voting have enjoyed a beverage from Tim Hortons

Diligent staff tabulating the votes.

I have to laugh, wonder if the percentage is better for voting on this thread than who voted in the Ontario Election a few weeks ago???:lmao:

I voted no. Just more crap for the mods to get involved in. It would nice to see some subforums for non trip related stuff tho!

I posted no just because I don't think our board is active enough to have a 'space' - I thought the purpose of the space is if you have 2 or more thread categories in the space - not sure what ours would be?? General Chat and Disney Chat? Anyway, just my two cents :)

Well I would have voted "no" if "no" was the only part of the choice. The "empire loyalist who never should have settled here" part put me off so I posted my opinion instead :)

Please vote. Don't let my weak tongue in cheek humour put you off.
