Big Thunder Ranch At Christmas Time

We have a 5-yr-old going with us in November. I remember reading something about Santa's house being at Big Thunder. Does anyone know anything about this and what else is there to do there? Also...where is located..exactly. I can't believe that I've been to DLR at least 8 times and have never been to the ranch.

The ranch is located on the path that goes around the back side of big thunder,it leads to fantasyland. I believe they have santa, his reindeer and cookie decorating (for a fee).

Last Nov this area was neat. Santa and Mrs. Claus are in an old log house and let me tell you, talk about wow! Then there was the cookie decorating, coloring, and singing with different characters. It is a great place to take a break and let the kids go crazy! Santa pictures are available on Photopass

They also have live music and the performers play games with the kids like Pluto's Bone and Pass the Presents. It's really cute.

This was so much fun in 2005. We saw Santa, the reindeer, the turkeys pardoned by the president - bought the cookies to decorate. They also had tables out for the kids to color (for free).

Does this run through December? We are used to going to the ranch to say hi to the goats but have not been to the Christmas thing.

Last year it continued into January - first week or two. It was really cute. We went after Christmas and Santa was no longer sitting in his house. Instead, he was roaming around the ranch chatting with kids, posing for photos, etc. Mrs. Claus was there and had a great conversation with dd and signed her autograph book. The kids liked seeing the reindeer, coloring, and nibbling on the candy canes that everyone kept giving to us.

It stated in 2005 with the 50th anniversary and I believe it is becoming a yearly event. we went and it was awsome, they had raindeer, Santa and mrs clause, there were carolrs, and differnt characters. The kids enjoyed the cookie decorating and enjoyed the time listening to music. We were there Nov, 2005 and I must admit I thought it was pretty neat. They even had a sled that you could take your picture in. My youngest enjoyed the raindeer, but was woundering why they weren't flying around...maybe Disney could sprinkle some Pixie dust on them some time
