Having ridden BTM loads of times and taken numerous photographs, I have now realised it is completely an island, well I had realised it's an island but hadn't ever thought about how you get from the station to the mountain until I was reading my "Sketch to Reality" book.
Am I right in thinking that the first and last tunnels of the ride are actually under water ?
Thanks guys. :wave2:

I am sure that the first one is - we figured this out on our stay last week. I guess it would also make sense for the last one to be as well (or else we'd be marooned on that island for ever)!

indeed, the two tunnels (ie first and last) go under the water, very cool :)

Thanks both :thumbsup2
It had never occured to me before how you actually get onto the mountain. :rolleyes2

Don't worry Jill, it hadn't occurred to me either until I saw the ariel photo in From Sketch.... :rotfl:

Of course, my more observant DDs had realised straight away! ;) :rotfl2:

Big Thunder Mountain is so cool - I did it in DLRP & WDW,I think its more thrilling at DLRP.The journey coming back from the island in the tunnel is so thrilling,I have to say its a must do all the time.Experiencing BTM at night is even better !!
