Hi, Dear Friends,
Thanks to Darlene I am finally on-line!
I have read for myself all the wonderful words of encouragement everyone has been posting and want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this unbelievable nightmare.
As everyone knows who has been through a crisis like this, it is amazing to see how our board friends and community come through for us--proving that distance means nothing when it comes to friendship. I truly don't know what I would have done without the loving support of Robyn, JudithM and her hubbie, and Darlene. Words can't begin to thank them for all they have done, but everyone should know that they are truly angels, and having their loving arms around me
during this ordeal has made it possible for me to do what I needed to do.
It looks like we are out of the woods,
although it's almost hard for me to believe it's true! Jim has been out of intensive care for a week now, and continues to improve daily. He put on sneakers for the first time yesterday and was lapping me in the garden as we went for one of his many daily walks (not hard to lap me as those who know me can attest!) He should be released tomorrow, and hopefully with all drains, i.v. lines and feeding tubes removed, and then stay in the area for about a week, have a check-up with the surgeon, and home to Virginia--a great plan as long as the snow and ice are gone
It will be months before he has fully recovered, but all signs are positive; we know we are truly blessed and have experienced many miracles along the way--both medical, and in the blessings of the many friends and strangers that have come forward to help us along the way.......
Thanks again everybody!!!
