Hi All!

We're a family of 5; my 3 kids will all be age 16 and under when we visit WDW next fall. My problem is, the kids are BIG. The boys are already over 6' and my daughter is almost 5'6" at age 12. The boys of course, would rather die than sleep in the same bed together, and to be fully rested DH and I either need a king bed or two doubles.

I'm looking at sleeping arrangement options but I need to know if any adult-sized people have tried sleeping in the bunks or on a daybed.

Thanks so much!! :crowded:

Just to clarify; I am looking at two rooms. No way am I going to stuff 5 of us, with teens that can argue at the drop of a hat, into one room! :earseek:

My six foot son has slept in the day bed at the Polynesian and the bunks at the AKL (which are the same size as the WL).

You might want to look at renting points for a 2BR at a DVC resort, that way you'll get a king, sleeper sofa and either two queens or a queen and sleeper, guarateeing a space for everyone. At the deluxe resorts bunks are never guaranteed, so even booking two rooms might end up being a problem where there is no daybed or a smaller daybed.

If your kids sleep in twin sized beds at home there is no reason that they wouldn't be comfortable in the day bed or bunk. They are standard sized.

Just wanted to let you know...I'm 5'10" tall, and have had no problem resting (never sleeping...but I could) on a daybed at WDW. They are definitely sufficient for your children. :cloud9: I completely agree with Anne, and believe you should look into renting a DVC two-bedroom villa. Everyone would have much more room (2 bathrooms, interior laundry system, full kitchen...etc), and be more comfy and HAPPY in the long run. Although I've never done this, I've heard it's great and very reasonable for the points *(average about $10 each according to this forum on the DVC board). Either way, have a GREAT time! :goodvibes

My son, who as an older teen was 6'3", was absolutely miserable on the daybed at the Beach Club....said he kept hitting his head and jamming his feet on the sides of the day bed. Our daughter, who is just about 5'4" said she was very comfortable on the day bed at GF. So if you are looking into 2 rooms, your daughter might be the most comfortable in the daybed.

Thanks for the replies;very helpful!

I've looked at the DVC board, but to be honest, I haven't been able to figure it out yet.
