This was the view as you approach on the ferry. That's the hat box, er uh, shop.

Thanks for the pic!
Another thought, maybe they are getting UPS to become a sponsor in the park ... now all they need to do is add "UPS" to the brown boxes for all their refurbs!Disney can find a way to make money out of anything -- even their refurbs!

I wonder if it has to do with the fact that Disneyland is a little over 400 acres and Disney World is somewhere around 30,000 acres?
Comparing Magic Kingdom to Magic Kingdom, not whole resort.
I mean, even in the small details Disneyland does a better job.
LOL! Maybe they can put the Main Street CM's in brown uniforms too!
Main Street refurb..... brought to you by UPS!![]()
I understand, these brown boxes are still open for business? So, I'm assuming, there is no danger to the public, while "whatever" is happening, under these tarps?
Seriously? This is what you people worry about when on vacation? A tarp? Did it ever occur to some of you that perhaps the tarp is there not only to cover up the work but to also protect guests from getting hit in the head with a falling tool? Sure they can rope off the area but things don't just fall straight down. They can go to the the side, away from the roped off area then Disney has a lawsuit. Then we would see millions of threads about people crying about how Disney does not care about the safety of their guests, blah blah blah.
If this is the thing that ruins your vacation, you should just stay home in your perfect little homes. There is so much more in the park to see. Just walk down Main Street and go somewhere else.
If you look at the second photo here:

it appear that they have already started to put up the "scrim".
My last visit in March of 2011 they had this type of structure up at the beginning of main street on the right hand side. It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but I'm not going to let it ruin my trip next month!
*SHHHHHHHHH, now they are going to find something else to complain about, lol.*

Actually, I can empathize with people on this topic. I love WDW and often get there twice a year - I'm thankful for it. If I'm healthy and nobody died, I will have a wonderful trip no matter what. Still, I can understand feelings of disappointment - especially if its a once in a lifetime or a rare trip. Many people imagine perfection - and honestly, Disney perpetuates that myth as hard as they can. People dream of those perfect views and photos of Main Street. Being disappointed about an ugly box is a far cry from a ruined vacation, and these forums are the perfect place to vent about it (or I wish they were).
