FYI. Just received a notice today that the large slide at SAB will be closed 5/2 until sometime at the end of the month for repairs. We will be at BCVs from 5/8-5/16 but our grandchildren are too small to use the big slide. It indicated in the letter that the BWVs pool and slide would be available for pool hopping.

Yikes. Staying there the week of 4/19 so just beating the closing. SAB went through a major refurb months ago and I thought they were all finished. Your kids might like the child vomiting clown pool.

This will "double" the activitiy at the BWV pool while we are there also. I would love it if they allowed BWV members to "hop" over to Beach Club to even out the crowds.

there is a smaller slide at SAB - in the kids section.

I've seen once when the big slide was closed that the small slide was also closed, because that whole "ship" across the sidewalk where the small slide is and the stairs up to the big is was closed. I remember another time when it was just the big slide and the small pool and slide below were open. So I am thinking there is no telling.

Us too!! We check in 4/20 for a week. I'll probably go down the slide at least once just because I can.....:goodvibes

The notice stated that "the rest of the SAB pool complex, including the Kiddie slide and pool, will remain open for your enjoyment".

The slide @ BCV was closed during our May trip in '08. I really wonder why they don't refurb pool slides in, say, January when the weather is more likely to be cooler and less people might use the pool/slide. :confused3

That's what I thought when i got my letter a couple of days ago. But it seems like they do all the pool slides in succession, one after another. The letter actually made me laugh- it looks like it's such a happy thing when you get it- "For Your Future Enjoyment" with the characters and pixie dust on the envelope, and all in color on the stationary- then you read it and find out it's not so enjoyable at all!! :rotfl: Well, we arrive on April 30th, so my friends and i will have to get our sliding in before the 2nd! :thumbsup2

If I were at BWV during this time and found that everyone from BCV was coming over, I would have no problem pool hopping in the opposite direction, whether given permission or not.

that is your answer - since you say the kids were to small to enjoy the big slide.

so you are fine!

I thought the same thing as you when I saw the envelope: "Oh, cool!" This will be our first stay at BCV, and we will miss the slide as we arrive on May 8 :(. I understand that the slide has to be refurbished, but I am still a little disappointed. At least I can still walk to EPCOT :thumbsup2

:wave2:

you might have a problem when they ask for your room key to give you a bracelet.

Does anyone have pics of the kiddie slide at SAB? We have stayed there about 4 or 5 times and never saw the kiddie slide, would love to see pics so I an figure out exactly where it is at.

Thanks!
Michelle

I really love the fact that we received 4, yes four, letters telling me about this closure! That's our DVC dollars at work.

I don't have pics, but it's a separate a little pool and slide at the base of the ladder to the big slide, close to the beach.
