Sorry new to thread. What does FB stand for? Also, I'm looking to run a Disney half or less for the first time. Any recommendations as to which one would be the best?

I don't understand why Disney doesn't realize that men like to run, too.
While I don't necessarily agree with Disney's decision, it MUST be based upon market research. Disney must have determined that they can make more money from a women's only race than from a more gender neutral race.
I won't be doing the race because of the timing issue.
And if their market research showed that a male only race, or Caucasian only race, would make them more money that would be ok? I have a feeling it wouldn't be.
I just think there are so many fun options that don't necessarily focus on women. A Peter Pan race would be hilarious, with people in pajamas, Captain Hooks, and YES, Tinkerbells.
If they really wanted to include Tinkerbell, they should have called it the Neverland Half Marathon, then it wouldn't seem like Disney is excluding men, yet again.

Agreed. Neverland Half is an awesome idea for a race, even if it sounds a little bit like a Michael Jackson race.

Neverland or Peter Pan I could deal with.
I find it especially poignant that on the day we lost one of the great women runners (Grete Weitz) who helped pave the way for EQUALITY in running, we have an announcement of yet another woman-centric race.
On the plus side, I can take that $120 and put it in my charity fund for Boston 2013.
Pretty sure its within the same calendar year.
This would have been so much better. I just don't get these "women only" races. Both DH and I run; why would we spend all that money to travel to CA for a race that is thumbing its nose at him? No temptation for me to run this one. I'll stick with marathon weekend at WDW where the whole family is welcome, thanks. If they really wanted to include Tinkerbell, they should have called it the Neverland Half Marathon, then it wouldn't seem like Disney is excluding men, yet again.
