Big runDisney announcement coming in April

Been here in Houston haven't you. We had an August sprint 2-3 year's ago where water temps were in the 90's and the duck stuff was - well thick and fermenting .

One of the races at the TX ski ranch in New Braunfels...after the year or so of drought. Water was like a cesspool. And I've done Cinco Ranch once in Katy...lots of duckweed and duck ..other stuff. LOL.

The local triathlon club has people that do this all the time and don't seem to have any issues but I have thought the same thing. I remember traveling a while back and a ton of people checking in at the counter with bikes in cardboard boxes. I guess it all depends on the race but at the same time, they could probably even rent out bikes. It is nice to have your own bike, but I don't know if it is 100% necessary. Especially at Disney because the Tri of course would be a lot more fun and not really your elite event. My view is that so many people travel to Disney with Golf Clubs (it was ridiculous when I worked at WDW because our storage area was full because of this) that traveling with a bike wouldn't really be much different. Most tri bikes are very light and just as expensive if not more so! :)

Actually, travelling with a bike is not a humongous deal and people do it all the time. I fly my bike places at least 3 times a year, I would guess, between racing and training. You can use a cardboard box (that's how the bike shops get them) or a hard case. I have the hard case. The trick is either knowing how to assemble/disassemble the bike or pay to have someone do it. Or as Charles mentioned, there are a couple of companies that will take your bike without you having to disassemble. It does cost to take the bike on the plane (yay for SW at $50 each way--boo to United for $175 each way!). Even Disney Magical Express has brought my bike on the bus for the 70.3 at Ft. Wilderness.

p.s. my first multi-quote! :woohoo:

Glad to see Danskin back... were they elsewhere for a year or two?

Was Danskin taken over by Trek Tri series? Or competing with them? I forget. I don't do some of the women's tri series locally anymore because they have gotten either too crowded or too ..um...enabling (swim noodles).:sad2:
But some of our locally produced women's events are really good.

A multi-quote on multisport - i guess a duathquote?

Ho hummmmm OK
:confused3

Maybe around clue 7 or 8 this will make sense See you on April 15

The 2012 Princess Half weekend is 24th-26th next year...that's all that comes to mind for me with this new clue. :confused3

24. The Fox and the Hound

25. The Black Cauldron

26. The Great Mouse Detective

What does significance does entering above 25 have?

3 events totaling 50 miles on the weekend of February 24, 25, 26 or August 24, 25, 26, 2012

or a 3 person relay totaling 50 miles on either weekend.

I am thinking of this one as a word game: "Enter over 24 26" but that doesn't do anything for me in terms of figuring out what the race is.

I guess we'll have to wait for Monday for #3.

that's what i was thinking. i got my dd to show me the clues on facebook and they are more graphic than what has been posted here.

i.e. enter at 25....maybe enter something or somewhere at mile 25???

and the first clue is something larger OVER something smaller.

Enter between mile 24 and mile 26. Mile 25 of the WDW full is right at France/Paris. Just a guess.

I don't know why this didn't occur to me...but what if it's a new race during an existing race weekend? Just going off what Cripey noticed about perhaps the numbers being the dates of the Princess. Like the marathon relay is a new race, sort of, for WDW Marathon Weekend. If so, I'll be really disappointed.

Here is my guess: Today's clue is ENTER. Under the first E is 24. Under the last E is 26. You will enter at midnight- the 24th hour and it will end at 26 miles- a full marathon. Starting at the stroke if midnight also ties in with the "fantasy" theme and the first hours of the day can be associated with "new" and "hope" I hope I am right and that if I am Disney will award me with free race entry :)

I'm thinking the same thing now. Especially since they told us about the upcoming announcement during the princess weekend, and said it would be something the princesses would be interested. I doubt they'd add another woman themed event to another weekend.

I can see that, especially if it is a summer race. It will take a few hours after the sun goes down to cool the air and the race wouldn't be so hot. Maybe its a summer night race? :confused3 Plus less road closures in the more crowded season and no park hours being affected.

Princess race at DL on the same weekend as Princess at WDW
