Big River Grille at the Boardwalk

Can someone tell me about the Big River Grille restaurant at the Boardwalk, how is the food, and is it true that they do not take reservations. If they don't take reservations how hard is it to get a table on any given night?

I asked about Big River Grill when making ADRs yesterday. The CM gave me a different phone number to call the restaurant directly. I wondered why that is. I haven't called yet.

Beer good. Food okay most of the time. Service totally hit or miss. Good for a beer and burger, but beyond that, we don't think too much of it. It has slipped in the past few years. Used to be better than average food.

ADR's not available through WDW dining. But, you can call the restaurant itself and make a reservation. They take walk-ups of course. Depending on time of year and time of meal, you should be able to get a table, even with a small wait. We sometimes stop there if we have no ADR elsewhere, knowing that walk-up seating is possible.

We were able to get a table for 10 in about 15 minutes on a Sat night in Aug.

We *love* this place.
We go in a group of about 15 people, and we are fond of the place. Often go twice in a trip in fact ( we stay at BCV ). Just for a reference point, we've gone to many great restaurants on property, including Le Cellier and Jiko, and my father loves the steak here. For me, it's more about the "pub grub", so I love the big Brew burger and DW is a fan of their meatloaf.

The beer is quite good, be sure to ask for a brewery tour if they are not too busy.
