Hi there. We are thinking of trying this place out for a lunch. Does anyone have any feedback on the food/atmosphere?

Thanks a bunch:goodvibes

We liked it. it's a nice stop at the Boardwalk. The food is alot like the title says Bar and Grill type.
The cheesecake dessert was fantastic.

They are not Disney owned so if you want to make an ADR you need to call them directly.

Location is great. Beer is good. Food is mediocre at best (most of the time). We go if we're in the mood for a beer and a burger, and have not been disappointed in that.

100% agreed that if you are going for a burger and beer you won't be disappointed. Last time we went there, you had to check in day of in order to get any sort of a reservation. They are not on the disney reservation system. They have outdoor seating which is really nice provided the normal Florida thunderstorm isn't ripping through or provided it isn't hot enough to melt your plate outside. We liked this place well enough to take a group of our friends here the night before our wedding!

we ate there in april while staying at the boardwalk villas and we liked it. would definatly go back again.

WE ate there a few weeks ago. Atmosphere was a 0, but we were inside near the restrooms which were recently cleaned (judging by the smell). The food was a mixed bag. I had their chicken with the dried cherries and it was excellent. The rest of the group declared everything 'ok'.

It's ok. Cheese soup not as good as at Le Cellier, but still ok. decor is nothing special. Not many options on the Boardwalk, which is normally deserted middle of the day, for lunch. I can't see going out of my way for this. But if you are there anyway, it's either that or ESPN Zone.

Thanks everyone. What we are doing is going to DS in the am and then taking the boat over to EP where we have dinner ressies for Biergarten at 6:55. We have had trouble getting lunch ressies in EP(anywhere my dh would like), so we though we'd try one of the boat stop resorts. If anyone has any other recomendations I am definitely "all ears" :rotfl:

Take care:goodvibes

Big River Grille on the Boardwalk - Good for burgers and beer.

ESPNClub on the Boardwalk - Good for burgers and beer.

The Fountain at the Dolphin - Good for burgers and......ice cream!

Beaches & Cream - More crowded than it deserves, but good for burgers and ......ice cream!

Picabu at the Dolphin - A "buffeteria" at the Dolphin. Good quick, cheap options.

Cabana Bar at the pool at the Dolphin - Great hidden gem for a relaxed, outdoor meal.

I am sure I missed a few here and there (Fresh at the Dolphin pops into mind) but those are the highlights. For burger and beer, I'd go ESPNClub. I really like the Cabana Bar and would strongly consider there. Lastly, for ice cream, I'd actually go Fountain over B&C. I just like it better!

It was okay. The decor wasn't so great. I was expecting something better.
The food was okay nothing out of the ordinary. My kids said it was like eating at Apple Bees.

I totally agree. The Cabana Bar at the Dolphin makes an awesome burger (like the Fountain) and has other menu items as well. But, as crowded as it was this past weekend, I don't know if it would be worth the effort. All tables full, 2-3 deep at the bar, man, it was a zoo. I could not get near the place for even a drink.

For ice cream, we prefer the Fountain over B&C as well.

Big River is pretty good. We have ate there several times and no complaints. The food is very comparable to ESPN, but the main difference is atmosphere...if you prefer the loud/action type place then ESPN is for you. But if you perfer a laid back meal, then sitting outside at Big River is a great choice.
