Just returned from WDW and we had a wonderful dinner at the Big River Grille and Brewing Works. It is located on the Boardwalk, and had excellent food and very good handcrafted beers. They have a wide variety on their menu and huge portions: http://allears.net/menu/menu_brg.htm

My wife had the Blackened Mahi Mahi Sandwich with kettle chips. My daughter had a huge hamburger, and I had the Blackened Mahi Mahi Caesar Salad. It may have been one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had.

For drinks, my wife had a Southern Flery Light Lager to start with. It was like a "lite" beer. I started with the Rocket Red Ale which was excellent. My wife's second beer was a Steamboat Pale Ale which had great flavor. But our favorite of the night was a special brew that was an "Irish Red." I have to admit that I had two of them!

Thank goodness for the Disney transportation service. We had several wonderful beers, but never had to drive back to the All Star Music (thanks to the Friendship Boats and the Disney Busses).

Anyway, if you're looking for a good meal with a great beer, I would recommend a trip to the Big River Grille and Brewing Works on the Boardwalk.

Thanks for the info. We're considering trying this for our trip in June where the TS options inside DHS make me go "bleh" we may head over here to eat. We'll also have a conference in the Dolphin a few days and may put this on the short list to hit around that lake. Had great luck with ESPN and may try this one next.

We stay at the BCV most of the time, and our trip is NOT complete without at least one visit here ( we often go more than once in fact! ). Love it. And on a beautiful night, sitting out on the boardwalk to eat is just... wow!

Thanks for the info! We are going in July and I'll have to add this to my list.

I'm very glad that you had a good experience there. I was starting to think I was the only one. Other post about Big River were less than stellar. I've had great experiences the two times I've eaten there. Yes the Red Rocket Ale was very good.

This is our first dinner at Disney, every trip now. DH gets the beer flight. It's about 6 small glasses of beer on a special placemat that tells about each one. He loves it. The food is very good, and we love sitting out on the Boardwalk and eating a leisurely dinner before our hectic trip really gets underway! Maybe we shouldn't tell anyone else. Let's let it be our little secret! :goodvibes

I know they don't take reservations, so what time did you go and how long was your wait. I thought if we got there at 5 when it opens we should be good. I would love to sit on the boardwalk. Planing to head there in Sept.

Hey, just wanted to know if anyone had any pictures floating around of this place? Is it a really loud, uppity sort of place (ie: Screaming kids, and or loud music). I want to try this place for dinner when we go in September. I heard they don't take reservations, true? So will I have a long wait if I go at night shortly before (or after if possible) the park closes? Thanks, :).

I agree.

It's been many years since we ate there, but my sister and I ate there once.
And they had this pumpkin beer. I don't see it listed too much, so it may be only a seasonal beer, but it is one of the best beers I've ever drank.

The only problem with our lunch was the chairs in which we sat. At that time, you ate at these real high tables, so the chairs were real tall and made out of metal, and they were uncomfortable.

They also had at that time, an outdoor eating area, but when we ate there, all those tables were taken.

No reservations? Good to know~ We want to do a night at Boardwalk but were thinking ESPN. But maybe we'll try this one!

They do take reservations but you have to call them direct; I just made one for my vacation in September. 407-560-0253.

When we stay at BWV, it's usually our traditional arrival lunch. If the weather is nice, it's great getting an outside table and just soaking it all in. Love the burgers!

:wizard: I was told they don't take reservations when I made my ADRs...if you have to call them direct to make a reservation does that mean they aren't on the dining plan? I'm confused....

Wow, great to hear the good reviews, we haven't been that fortunate. Love the beer and the location but have only had one good meal there after many
(7)times eating there. I know you are all thinking many trips and one good meal...it all comes down to the BBB and LLL beer, beer, beer, location, location, location

Don't be confused! That is why you are here! :thumbsup2

YES they are on the Dining Plan and YES they take reservations. You must call them direct and they will ask you if you want to eat on the patio or inside. We asked for inside because if it isn't raining, I will be BAKED and in need of AC :cool2: As a Northern Canadian I can only imagine how hot I am going to be - there is a threat of frost tonight - so heat isn't something I am use to this year :sad1:

we will be arriving at the Beach Club after a transatlantic flight with two young children!!:lmao:

Is it far to walk from the Beach Club?? We will probably be there around six o'clock on a Sat evening in early dec - are we (or should I say the children) going to be waiting long for a seat/service??

I think that after a long day, we will be looking for a quick eat and go type meal, and was wondering whether this is a good option or not??

thanks for any info!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

It is not far at all. In fact, one year we had brought two-way radios and one of us ran over from the Beach Club to see if there was room, and "radioed" the others accross the lake to come join us.

In our experience, we've usually had quick seating and quick service. We *always* stop in at this place, sometimes more than once per trip.
