-Is this a Counter service or Table service?

-Can you make ADRs?

-Anyone been there? Reviews? Thoughts?

It's table service and I was given a seperate number to call to make ADR's (sorry I threw it away, but Disney Dining would have it). We haven't tried it but wanted to this next trip! Unfortunately it got crossed out for WCC.

Table service. Typical American brew-pub type menu. Beer was good, food was okay, overall I wouldn't say it's worth making a special trip for.

It's a sit down place.

I've gone for lunch a couple of times. No, nothing to write home about. Once, just got a quick burger with DH and our 2 kids.

Other time, I had just checked into the Dolphin with my friend and our (total together) 6 kids. We just wanted a quick lunch, so she and I split a club sandwich (or turkey or something) and we got all the kids meals. It was perfectly fine, and an inexpensive way to sit them down and feed them.

I don't think I'd ever bother to make a reservation here. It's just fine to stop by, if you need to sit down and have something. The food isn't anything spectacular.

We've always had to walk up. But they Do take the dining plan. Table Service, AND they have tables right on the boardwalk. ( amazing! ). And my whole family ( kids included ) really love this place and during a 10 day stay, we always go a couple of times. ( Granted, we are at the Beach Club, right accross the lake ).

If it's not too busy, ask for a brewery tour!

I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, it was a pretty basic place for a quick bite. We just happened to be walking by and walked in.

When we stay at BWV, it's our traditional arrival meal, waiting for our room to be ready or right after we get the room. Love their burgers. We've never had to wait for a room mid-afternoon. Love sitting outside on a nice day.

We just ate here two weeks ago. No ADR. Walked up and was seated right away. It was the best meal of our trip! Here's the excerpt from my TR:

"We then wanted to go to the Big River Grille & Brewing Works for dinner at the Boardwalk Inn. DD19 & DSIL wanted to check out the resort as they booked their honeymoon there for next year. It is truly gorgeous. We walked around a little then checked in for dinner. They do not take reservations here but we were seated immediately. We had a nice table by the window and could look out onto the Boardwalk while we dined. The restaurant looked about half empty. Our waitress was a delightful girl and since DH didn't know what the beers would taste like he asked her opinion. She told him some detail on each one and then he went with a coke as he was still unsure of what their beer would taste like. When our drinks were served, she brought DH a sample of one of the beers that she thought he may like. He ordered one then. DD17 & I ordered the ribs. We both agreed that they were the best we've ever had. DD17 orders ribs everywhere so for her to say that – it really means something. DSIL ordered the mahi mahi and it was also delish. All 6 of us were eating off of each others plates the whole way through this meal because everything was delectable. I highly recommend this restaurant and we all believe it was the best meal of the trip. DD19 had the hazelnut chicken and it was to die for. She said she must have it again on their honeymoon. My other DD19 had the chicken alfredo and it was also good.

Big River has other locations, or at least one other location in Nashville that I know of. I personally like eating at micro-breweries and have enjoyed a few meals at the Boardwalk's Big River. Nothing stands out as unique or spectacular, but I have no complaints, which I cannot say about other Disney restaurants (Akershus comes to mind).

I've eaten there several times and I believe they take reservations as priority seating. Meaning if you make the PS reservation when you arrive you get the next table available for your size party. BTW we've always enjoyed our meals here, we've stayed in the Epcot Resort area 5 times so it had been very convenient.

We ate at Big River Grille in Feb 2007. They don't take ADR's but we walked up the day of and made a reservation for that evening. It was nice because we ate outside on the boardwalk and did some people watching and just enjoyed the boardwalk scene. The food was pretty good, beer too. DH had the ribs and liked them, I had a salad which was just ok - we were there with a friend of mine and her parents and they all loved their food. I wouldn't say it was one of our very best WDW dining experiences, but we did enjoy it.

They take the dining plan, one TS credit. You can't make reservations through Disney, you have to call the restaurant directly. This is not a Disney-owned restaurant, it's a chain.

Nice outdoor seating. The indoor seating seemed a little cramped & loud. We walked up after being told ESPN would be at least an hour. We were seated at an outside table with no wait. Better than the average WDW meal in our opinion.

We ate there in AUg. It was a SAt night and we had a party of 10. They were able to seat us indoors in about 15 minutes. The food was alright but we had a fun time

You might want to sign up for their email deals before you go at bigrivergrille online - they send some pretty good specials through to your email. I've seen free appetizers, half off entrees, birthday deals, etc. They also tell you when they will be having tapping parties for new beers, so you'll know what's going on before you go. Just be sure to sign up for the "Disney World - Boardwalk" under favorite location.

Here's what's going on for subscribers right now:
