Got wind that some DVC big wheels will be coming to WDW in October.

The impression that I got was that there would be announcements that go beyond a simple BLT announcement.

If seemed to me that something bigger is coming down the pike than just BLT and we'll know more in October.

Hmmmm FREE AP'S FOR DVC MEMBERS WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: We met a couple on the boat from OKW and DTD and they told us that when OKW was first opened as the Disney Vacation Club......members got free park tickets for the first few years.

Well sort of. You got free length of stay tickets for the number of nights you booked (not days, so you had to drop the first or last day) for half of the occupancy limit of your room. So if you booked a studio or 1 bedroom you got 2, 2 bedroom got 4, GV got 6. It was for OKW members who bought from 1992 to 1996 (early, before BWV opened), it lasted until 1999.

Still a good deal in my opinion!!!:thumbsup2

The announcement will be the same one we got in July, then August :lmao:

Actually, who needs announcements from the big wigs...we have the boat and bus drivers to fill us in:rotfl2:

I just hope they don't have rooms booked on concierge level @ AKV...it would be a shame for all of them to have to share a studio @ SSR. :teeth:

maybe it's going to be an additional expansion beyond Disney properties -- haven't heard much more on Hawaii so maybe they're going to announce more details on that and other offsite places......along with the Contemporary!

This is a stretch, but AKV was announced on Oct 1st 2005. Maybe the trend will continue for October.

October 1st is the first day of Disney's fiscal year. It's also the day the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT each opened. They have a long history of doing things on 10/1 so who knows!

Maybe they are coming down to straighten out the mess with those who got booted out of DVC:rolleyes1

i volunteer to go forth & greet them:worship:

long as they comp my crib;)

so...if they do finally announce the CRV/BLT on October 1st...

any guesses on timeline as to start of actual purchase date for members?popcorn::

Nah, they are just going to announce some new simplified plans/methods for DVC members to make it easier for us.

For example, you just give them your bank account number and they directly debit your account all year long just because they want to.

Or the DDP will be free for half the guests for half the stay for any member who actually gets all the days they want on their first phone call. Well, it will be the new snack version of the DDP - two snacks a day (limit $1.99 per snack) plus a refillable mug at the resort and water park for $8.99 a day.

Or you don't pick your vacation days anymore. They will pick them for you, including the size of the resort villa that you get based on the number of points you own.

And they will be opening a new Disney Dreams showcase on the South Side of Chicago to make it more convenient for all those DVC members who live in the southern US, Central American and South America.

Wait, stop the presses. The big news will be:

Jim Lewis has been made President of Disney Theme Parks Worldwide because of his great success with DVC.

I thought I read where they will be announcing the theme for 2009, something along the lines of magical celebrations.....and maybe BLT as well.

Maybe they will be announcing a brand new DVC billboard!

I heard from a bus driver (City bus though and not Disney) it was going to be a new member magazine called Less than Zero-we dare you to find any DVC content.
