The Wife and I are going to take a day or 2 of our 10day Disney trip to check out universal for the first time. Being 6'5 and 300lbs, i am a big guy (former college football player), and not sure if I can fit comfortably in some of the rides at US and IOA as i have never been there before. Does anyone have a pic of the trains you sit in in the coasters and other rides? Having a big gut and big chest makes it diffacult in some rides. I can comfortable ride Rock N Coaster at Disney and Everest is fine, Space mountain is a little tight on the long legs, but still doable. Any help or ideas would be great :)
THanks

I have the same problem you do. I'm around your height (6'6") and weigh a bit less. I personally can't do space mountain at Disney. It's more of a preference thing...i.e. I don't like feeling like I'm about to die when i get on a coaster.

Anyway, that being said, I find the rides at Universal a bit more comfortable. I've been able to do the Hulk, Dragons, and Mummy without a problem. I consider those three rides the most "difficult" in terms of seating. I normally don't have to take advantage of them, but there are larger seats in the Dragons and Hulk (two front buckles)...ask an attendant...he'll hook you up. As for Mummy, it depends. I've found the back seats typically feel like they have the most leg room.

For every other ride at the park you shouldn't have a concern at all. Jurassic Park can be a bit of a pain, just make sure you don't get stuck in a seat close to the bar on each side.

Don't sweat it, you are going to have a great time!

I don't have any pictures of the test seats but on Hulk and Dueling Dragons, there is a "big boy" seat in row 3 and 6 of each train. There are test seats out front so you can try them out before standing in line.

On ROTM, there is no shoulder harness...just a lap bar but the bar has to be pulled down to a certain clearance. If the bar won't make it, they will probably put you in the back row which is no big deal.

Can't think of any ride that would be a problem, except for maybe the Hulk at IOA. But I do remember, they had a test seat outside of the ride itself that you could try on.

Big Boy seat... I like that!... Nice

So there are test cars outside most of the rides it seems... thats a nice feature.

It's a VERY nice feature! I usually have to sit in the "big boy" seat on Hulk but am OK on Dueling Dragons. The "big boy" seats have two buckles instead of one. On Dueling Dragsons you can pick which row you want to sit in but on Hulk, they will usually put you in a row. Just tell them you want row 3 or 6 and you're good. :thumbsup2

Are all seats on Row 3 and 6 bigger, or is it just one certain seat in that row? Do i need to say something like, "I need the big boy seat"?

Where are the good seats to sit in on Dueling Dragons?

Todd,

Did I ever tell you that Kait (my 12 year old - you have seen her in my pictures and know she is small) was in a "big boy seat" on DD - Jim had to try to hold her harness down :scared1: :scared1: she wasn't going to GO anywhere - it was just a bit larger than what she was used to.....

It's just one per row...if you're looking at the trains on Hulk and Dueling Dragons, it will be the third seat over. For Hulk, just tell them you'd like to sit in row 3 or 6 and Dueling Dragons you can pick the row.

No Tracie...I never knew that. Most of the time people sit in these special seats and are totally unaware.

I usually sit in the second row on DD but it's just regular seating on that row. Try both seats out front and if you can do either, try row 2 or wait for the front.

If you like water rides Dudley Do-Right probably will be a problem. I'm 6'3" 225 and last year almost got stuck when I rode in the very front seat because of the lap bars and my long legs. However I just went this past weekend and rode in all the seats but the very front and didn't have too much of a problem. Still not comfortable getting in and out of it with long legs though.

Yeah, those Fume log rides are always crampped

I was going to mention this one. Does it still look like a human mousetrap? :sad2:

I squeezed into the Front seat on DuDrgns so DS could ride up front and she didn't want to ride up front alone. It was a little snug on the chest. The larger seats did feel better. I wear a 54 coat. No other problems on any other rides at 6'3 and with a bum knee

So to make sure I understand, the front row of Dueling Dragons, so this row

is smaller (or a tigher squeeze) than all the rows behind it?

Are there no lap bars in the back of the trains?

The only seats on the train that are larger are the ones we talked about. The others are the standard size.

They still have lap bars but you have more leg room so the bar will pull down where it needs to be.
